HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 25 окт 2011
- This is a video of the basic grooves of the studio version No Quarter (from Houses Of The Holy) . There is no music whatsoever from Led Zeppelin in the video.
Terry don't listen to these fools! Love the rambling! Love the playing and all the back stories and all! Keep it up!
Ditto. Super Helpful! Keep doing what you’re doing!!
Love your instructions - am 65 & haven't played drums for about 35 years & remembering is awesome !!
Thank you Ron!
Thank you so much for this video!!! It hard to play by ear or by watching a cover 🙏🙏🙏
Wow those beats are so much more Jazzy than I first realised. Melds and blends so well in the song. Another awesome video man, thanks heaps :)
I could listen to you talk about drumming for hours! Keep up the great videos!
Thank you. I shudder to think what you must have gone through to learn it perfectly.
Excellent breakdown of this song! Thanks!
Perfect
13:14 ok yeah, so there is Bonham does TWO of those "bah-bah boom" things..... actually, it sounds like he goes, " bah-bah-boom... bah-bah-boom-boom, bah boom
Great video Terry. Would love you to do the live version but we already chatted about that - just realised that Bonham doesn't play the 'live' verse 'outro' fill at all on the studio version - know the one I mean? First appears around 3:20 on TSRTS.
Anyway, enjoyed this video a lot, cheers Terry.
Nothing crashes like a Paiste...nothing. Great drumming 👍
Thanks B!!!
I agree with your point about what qualifies as a "Chorus"
This has been the source of confusion and debate with many a band member. lol
I would call the "to build a dream" bit the Bridge personally.
Great job on the video and thank you for taking time to do this kinda thing. Best part is you do it because you want to :) Atleast i think so... haha
In six weeks I will play this song on stage, tomorrow will be my first time playing drums, wish me luck
Good luck my friend- but better yet-good studying!
So how did it go?
@@Thorum13 I simplified it quite a bit, but during the concert I played everything correctly and it was great
Is it possible that Acrolite sounds better than a Supraphonic
It could help smoothen the sound if you tune your bass drum a little higher if you want.
Missing the magic after the snare hit on the main groove... ghost notes before and after the snare hit... very hard to do
Tabs with the lesson would be nice! But apart from that, fun and educative lesson
I kind of agree. I know you want to share your knowledge, but as a suggestion, maybe you should work the tune out before making a vid. I agree, I'll even go so far to say the live version from TSRTS is my favorite Zep tune (That's saying a lot!)
I'm pretty sure that's just a drag (that part you kept trying to figure out)
A good way to think about the basic beat.....Rather than counting it out (I doubt Bonham was counting) I think of it as he keeps cutting the snare hit in half the time. If you can play, it's easy yet brilliant.
I wanted to see how you worked out the first fill, but ya never got to it. You continued to play the stra8 1/8th note fill.
From messing around, I'm pretty sure the fill is paradiddle diddles, with the accent on the right, and ghosting the L.
Anyway, that's what I'm fairly sure it is, but either way it sounds great as a fill, and grooves w/the tune.
I believe it would be easiest to count the "chorus" as 1,2,3, 1,2,3, 1,2, 1,2,3,4, 1,2,3,4
Thanks
@GregoryGraveyard Thanks GG!
isnt the second part (the groove on the hi hat) in 16/8? its easier to count it that way...i think so anyway
And yeah the SRTS version puts the studio version to shame. That was also my first Zepp obsession. I just went the way of the guitar instead. :-P
Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Bonham played 2002s on Houses of the Holy?
+Tyler No Quarter was a holdover from the fourth album.
nice a lot
yeah because counting it straight 4's throws the feel off.
I don't have the coordination to play the hi-hat open close bit
dude i love you and all but when i skip through your videos to find the part i need to work on the most it takes me a couple minutes to siv through all the chit chat. i wanna support you but i have time constrictions man
Get lost, moron.
it's easy for you to count to 16 when you could count to 4?
21:53
6:13 off-beat triplet ghost notes on the snare, in between the toms... during those fills. I hear alot of that. At least whatever they call the remastered version... I know you know what's up though... like you completely replicated other songs, so... not trying to be like weird, insecure,
"... you screwed up... " type sh1t... .here is link if interested love channel. You literally are the reason I have focused on Bonham for practice. ruclips.net/video/wdqDmJbm2eY/видео.html
Thank you, N a F 2.0!
21:49 ... Tom Sawyer anyone? hahah
No lo entiendo, es como si estuviera recordando la cancion a medida que graba el video, no escucha la cancion, la recuerda como un dia la escucho, para eso mejor la saco de oido :p
