The thing about Bonham is he does all these subtle things that you can't really pick out and thats what makes his drum parts sound as good as they do. Thanks for this lesson
Thanks Terry. Another great lesson. Big help with learning this one. Adding this one (and Ramble On) to our Zeppelin/Sabbath tribute set this weekend so have to learn it in a hurry. Not a clue what to do for that unusual 16th note sound Bonzo played in the verses of Ramble though :)
Your intimate knowledge of LZ songs off the top of your head is incredible. I really enjoy the in-depth rhythmic analysis of the songs and you're a kick-ass player. Thanks so much for all the videos.
Resurrecting this video Terry. Getting ready for a Zep show and working on Heartbreaker and this one. Came here as always, because your tutorials are just spot on. Turns out I finally had one right before I got here. Can you listen to the build up, I thought it was toms and bass and no snare. I wanna play it right at the show. :)
the way drums go against the guitars is kinda cool. it sounds like the drums are "driving ahead" of the guitar. which is really the trick behind zep's sound. the drums follow the guitar, not the other way around, as usual. celebration day is another example of this.
@SmokedTails He's been thinking/pursuing this stuff for almost 30 years, relentlessly. It is amazing! I bet Paiste would hire you Terry as a historian/consultant, have you tried?
