  • Yale Schola Cantorum, conducted by David Hill, perform Weihnachts Oratorium BWV 248 (or the Christmas Oratorio) by Johann Sebastian Bach.
    Yale Schola Cantorum is a chamber choir that performs sacred music from the sixteenth century to the present day in concert settings and choral services around the world.
    Professor David Hill has a long and distinguished career as one of the leading conductors in Europe. His positions have included being chief conductor of the BBC Singers and musical director of the Bach Choir. He is currently adjunct professor of Choral Conducting at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and principal conductor of Yale Schola Cantorum.

    I was much impressed and touched by the Schola Cantorium performance of the Weinachts Oratorium: to see these young people singing and playing with such enthusiasm and ability--and, generally, historical accuracy--was truly inspiring.

      They skipped Parts 4 and 5 entirely, I'm afraid. Quite common in concert performances of the Christmas Oratorio, I'm afraid.
