In spite of the hardships, challenges, bitterness, trials and suffering of many in the 17th and 18th Centuries, Bach offered a glorious glimpse into Heaven on so many occasions which thrill us over three hundred years later. Given the insanity, pathetic mediocrity and overt silliness in which we find ourselves in the 21st Century, we can find a respite for our weary souls and minds through Bach and be uplifted with the glorious hope of eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am absolutely convinced that Bach's works will be part of the heavenly repertoire for eternity.

I discovered this great work during Holy Week and Easter of 1960 when I was in the military stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. When I was separated and returned home to Maryland that June, one of the first things I did was go to a music store and get an LP of the work. The cover had both the German and an English translation. Sadly, I let that LP get away from me over the years. But I love the work, especially the chorus "Kommt, eilet und laufet:" where Mary Magdalene and another Mary go to Jesus' tomb only to find it empty. And they run to Peter and the other disciples. Praise be to God and God's son, Jesus our Savior.

Beautiful. We very much enjoy early music performed on period instruments, and are also trying to produce, record and present similar concerts, videos and CDs.
CAPTIVATING & PRISTINE PERFORMANCE! The video and sound are top quality. There is great musicianship wealth here: The prelude with the trumpets and orchestra gives the solemn aspect, the succession of upward and downward phrasing in the music is so moving, a contrast of texture, pace, volume, sparkle & pristine soloist voices, instrumental palette, rich melodic resonance, the chemistry between the performers and the director was excellent, both subordinating themselves to the music. The closing of the Oratorio in 'Preis und Dank with the Choir, trumpets, wind instruments and orchestra gives a GLORIOUS conclusion!

One of the finest examples of musicians and conductor ‘playing’ TOGETHER... and am touched by seeing how much everyone is just having unencumbered joy/fun in being part... nuanced interpretation without over-interpreting...the wit and emotion are coming together as one...in short: thank you for a spiritual gift you are giving us all. DANKJE! Merci. Danke. Thank you. Grazie...
Gracias :)

Gratias!!! (Latín)
It’s Easter again and I am submerging myself again into the sublime music by these über-gifted musicians. And the filming stays about of the world experience too. That look out of the window..... tears of gratitude for this gift. Thank you.
Praise God for this! The Lord is risen! He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!
A performance of great quality, with excellences both in the instrumental ensemble and among the vocal soloists. The choir is majestic.
Schitterend! Geen dag zonder Bach 🙂 dank jullie wel! 🌷
Thanks for publishing, God bless you, Jesus loves you :)
Since I listen to and compare many Bach's performances ,
I can understand the talent , ability and skill of the performers .
There is something extraordinary in their breathtaking performances
I can't entirety complain about their performances
Their performances are overwhelmingly outstanding .

I wish my mother had lived long enough to see these but she died in 2009. She would have loved them.
Beautiful. We very much enjoy early music performed on period instruments, and are also trying to produce, record and present similar concerts, videos and CDs.
B-A-C-H is beginning and ending of ALL Music !
Bach's music is rooted in human reality yet points us to something brighter and higher that we all aspire to.
All of Bach, a magnificent discovery
Marvelous Bach Netherlands Society ! Wonderful performers of H.M J.S Bach the tutelary Father of the Music , (the Alpha and Omega of the Music !)
Glorious performance of one of my favorite Bach works. Spirit-lifting in these times of isolation and illness. Thank you, Netherlands Bach Society! Superb musicianship, splendid camera work, exquisite setting.
So beautiful and hopeful--something which we need so much of right now. Even the setting is light and hopeful.
This is music of Easter Time!Thx...
Thanks a lot for sharing. Thanks to youtube your concert brings us Easter joy instead of the covid pandemy. Bravo to one of you! Cheers from France.
-Netherlands Bach Socie♥ty 🌠👍👍👍

So wonderful to wake up to this marvellously joyous work on Easter morning!
This group is the real Bach! - thank you
Wonderful. A tribute to Bach and a great present to all of us.
Wonderful !!! God bless you !
A Superlative Performance. Wonderful Balance. Terrific Sound. The Best I’ve Heard. Marvellous !.
Amo a Bach!
Easter music at it’s best, thank you all.
Wonderful, inspiring and uplifting music. We need this.
Maybe, I am going to get crazy. No way to stop listening to it.
Excellent..... Roaring singers, gallopping instrumentalists and vibrant conductor all paying tribute to the Kappelmeister JSB
How very beautiful and uplifting in these sad days.

Such joy and energy. This is sustaining me through lockdown. I cannot thank you enough.
This is my favorite of Bach's uplifting pieces. Easter was somewhat somber this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but when I listened to this piece, it was as though it took me off my feet, and up near heaven.
This is so beautiful. I can hardly stand it-----Totally makes my Easter Season. Soli Deo Gloria!!
I am amazed that the audience can remain so impassive during the most inspirational music on Earth, performed by the fantastic Netherlands Bach Society!
Bach hits the ground running in this joyous piece, never lets up on the pace.
Another powerfull piece of music from Bach, marvelous interpretation from Netherlands Bach Society - thank you so much for sharing this recording !
Agreed, Guillaume! By the way, I kindly recommend the appreciation of the work of a living classical composer dedicated mostly to sacred music. I feel myself like a sort of non-official ambassador for his music - and, effectively, also one of his few supporters. He is very, very talented. You won't be disappointed. ruclips.net/user/WFerdinand
