As to the German language it is certainly a must to all singers of The Lieder by Schubert and Mahler and others and almost impossible to master by Anglo/Americans, except Thomas Hampson trained by Elisabeth Schwarzkopf. The unique aria g flat by Pamina in the Magic Flute, why did Mozart compose it so difficult in German that rarely the best of best German singers can master it while the Italian version does not have these language problems.
Goosebumps. The best "cold turkey" ever!
THEY PLAY AND SING WITH PASSION. BACH WOUD BE PROUD!!!!!!
39:19 Aria for Alto (or Mezzo-Soprano) and Flute in Unison (Flute playing the Alto Melody up an Octave).

Thank you so much! Happy Xmas.
Bach's counterpoint is a majestic wonder. One can only imagine what was going on in his brain.
@@jochenarweiler9909 good point. And just think I first heard this is Germany as a teenager. Brought tears to my eyes!!
Best recording. Most organic phrasing❤️❤️❤️

Same to you! ;)
Dietrich Henschel gives an outstanding performance!
I agree wholeheartedly!
Its like heavens angels are singing... Its so beatiful!
Excellent performances all round but the real genius of course is Bach. How does one imagine so many harmonious parts overlapping like this. Incredible.
It is heavenly music produced by a divine mind, this what defines almost all of Bach's works.
@@sirknight4981 Yes, sir.
Vielen vielen Dank. So wundervoll, so heilsam.
Wonderful bass soloist.
I agree!!
