Compare this one to other recordings on RUclips and come to your own conclusion. But most of all enjoy the music you are listening to regardless of what other's opinions may be 🙂
The word" Woke" did not exist in the 1800's... It was conventional in those days to use contratenors or male alto's (falsetto's if you like) because women were not allowed to sing in choirs in churches...I know this sounds ridiculous now...Bach wrote specifically those high parts for male soprano's or boys...never seen Farinelli?

I don’t understand why you are not happy with the recording. May I suggest you upgrade your equipment.
Counter-tenors are counter to good music. Stop being woke and just use an Alto.
