I’m so excited this video is out! Can you help a newbie out? What is the depth for your dado’s and rabbets, assuming I heard correctly and you’re using 3/4 inch plywood! Thanks for the great content, Bao!
You don't understand how happy I am to see a woodworker that looks like me. I'm trying to build my own skills and seeing another POC woodworker is so inspiring. I'm so happy I've found your channel!
Can’t agree more about the grain selection. Possibly my favorite part of any build is laying out my materials to see what needs to go where to provide the best look.
love it brother! looks good, awesome videography also.....im pretty seasoned with building, but watching you with details really helps me elevate my skill.......white oak vanity has been on my personal list for. bit, just inspired me to go for it.......keep on, and keep building!
This video came out at just the right time for me! I gotta build a bathroom vanity this weekend. Not looking forward to it. Thanks for the inspiration! 👊🏻
Awesome vanity. Looking to build mine in the next couple days and your video has helped a lot answer a lot of questions i had about little details. I know this video was made over a year ago, but I had a couple questions regarding the drawer overlay and cabinet door overlay. Do you remember what size overlay hinges you used for the cabinet? And how much overlay did the drawers have? I know you used 0.75" plywood for the carcass, but if there is a 1/8" gap, and 0.5" overlay, that only leaves 1/8" for the drawer face to rest on when its closed. I know that should work technically, but an eighth inch doesn't seem like much.. Thanks!!
Thank you! I believe I used 3/4” overlays on the ends and 1/2” overlay for doors next to the drawers. The drawers were trim down to give an even gap around the fronts.
Do you have shareable plans available to create the same thing? This is exactly what my husband and I want to create! Would love to have a list of measurements.
Great looking vanity. I'm designing something similar and have never done a frameless cabinet. Are you using full overlay hinges for the outside cabinet doors and half overlay hinges on the inside doors that are against the drawers?
One more question if you don’t mind. What do you recommend for exposed end panels?? Working on white oak cabinets. What would you say would be best to use on exposed ends or sides?? Thank you once again for your help and time.
looks great! we just had a vanity built for our bathroom from white oak and I would like to know what stain/sealant you used that kept the wood from yellowing or becoming darker?!
Thank you! I used polyurethane on mine. What helps is to not use oil base since oil base tends to make it yellow overtime. You'll get some yellowing with a water base but it's not as much
Nice video Bao! I have the same issue as you where I feel like I lose one tool when I need it most. Then comes the other problem of having too many of the same tool because I keep buying more instead of looking for the one that I already have 😂
Dangit, Bao. I have work to do and didn’t want to get sucked into watching this but I did. This was super captivating. Great video! I have one question. Those soft close hinges looked easy to snap on but you didn’t show how you attached the back half of them on the face frame. Did you just measure equally for both doors or was there a trick with that true position jig for placing the hinge on the face frame as well??
Thanks Christy! I usually make a jig to set the placement for the plates inside of the cabinet. The jig is measured and cut based on where you locate your hinge on the backside of the door. From there you can take the jig and locate the plate side inside the cabinet. Probably will be a future video to make it easier :)

Thanks, Amanda! I usually go no more than half the thickness of the material. Yes for the cabinets I used 3/4 plywood.

Makes a difference! It’s worth the time and the results are 👌🏻
You mixed in some good tips there! I like all of the continuous grain
Me too! Took some time but it was worth it.
stunning cabinet, and I've watched many videos on woodworking. You deserved more viewers!

If I get the chance to make another, I'll for sure make a video.

How do you find oak that doesn’t look all grainy and ugly? Your lumber looks so smooth and straight with even lines going in even directions??
Thanks! Its called rift-sawn white oak. Check it out

Yes, that is correct!
Awesome work and content! Any places where I can get white oak plywood for the panels?? Thanks for your help.
Thank you! you should be able to get them at most lumberyards in your area
One more question if you don’t mind. What do you recommend for exposed end panels?? Working on white oak cabinets. What would you say would be best to use on exposed ends or sides?? Thank you once again for your help and time.
@@abeljaimes1498 I would just use white oak like in the video on the exposed ends.
Awesome video as always! I wish we had the skills to make our bathroom vanities. It's a sad sight right now lol

Hence why I have four measuring tapes 🤣🤣
What plywood did you use for the shaker door?
White oak plywod
White oak plywood
Great video, as always! By the way, what’s the rectangle sander you use? Do you recommend it?
Thank you! It's from Surfprep and I love it. It's pretty much used on all my projects now at the finishing stage.
Did you use oak plywood all around or some other plywood for the carcass?
It was birch plywood for the carcass and solid white oak for the fronts

No inset drawers and doors ?! Why?
Because that's what the client wants.
Would you sell me this model 60 inch? Exactly what wife wants!
Thanks! It was actually for a client. If you’re in Houston I can make one
