    I agree with you about the vessel sinks. The only people who are fans of that style of sinks are those who have never had to use them on a daily basis nor try to keep them clean. They seem to get dirtier on the outside than the inside. Many people love the look, but in short order they discover things like washing your hands and brushing your teeth are cumbersome. Beautiful work!

      We had one for several years in our previous home and I actually liked it-BUT it was much (MUCH) larger than the small round ones my parents have. I can definitely see the frustration with the tiny round vessel sinks. At the end of the day, I’d still rather have the undermount though-plus the extra height provides more storage space 🙌

    Well... an alternative title for this video might be: "The Total Rebuild of Shara's Parents' house continues..." 🤣 1:30 "I need this piece cut off from something at some point" describes a lot of what goes on in my shop... 7:49 that expression when realizing HOW MUCH EDGE BANDING has to be applied...😕 I've said it before, but your idea of using T&G for panel doors and drawer fronts is freakin' brilliant. For your next trick, let's see a creative use of the tongue offcut for a creative piece of trim! These vanities turned out really nice! And, while I didn't think your intros were too long, I kind of like how you popped in a few times for "notes." Nice to see your face as an alternative to voiceovers... sorta provides a visual and mental break from following the build. And, of course, hi to Lu and Bubs!

      Haha it’s like we’ve already redone it all once and we are just starting over at the beginning to redo it all again 😆 at least this time it’s not a complete bathroom remodel like the last time (I tiled that shower and those floors in 2020 and it was a nightmare 🙈) I’m so glad you like my little “trick” with the t&g! I hate making doors so anything that makes it a little more bearable is a win 😆 I’ve actually been trying to think of some ideas to use the tongues on. I’ve thrown a lot of them away but I kept a handful to ponder with. One of these days I’ll come up with something…maybe.
      Also, I appreciate the feedback. I’m always trying to figure out a video format (I’m clearly not a professional videographer) that’s efficient (both in filming and editing), practical, and not super boring. I agree with you-I think the little breaks here and there were helpful (at least in the editing process haha). I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Thanks again for watching 🙌

    Shara, I love the detail in your vanity. Now you have me looking at the two identical vanities in my house which are just a few inches smaller in comparison to yours. Even with a modification or two, purchasing your plans is a bargain because you've already taken into account measurements surrounding plumbing and the availability of fixtures. The temperature in my shop right now is 105 so give me some time to chew on this with the Boss. I feel like you were speaking directly to me when you showed the critters. Hugs to them both. I appreciate every minute of your videos and usually watch them more than once. So the length of any segment I personally think is up to your artistic license. Frankly, I love the enthusiasm you bring to the beginning of each project and carry through to the end. Thanks for Sharing!

    Beautiful build as always. You’re right about the grain patterns on that plywood. I love seeing the process and that you offer options and ideas even when you (or your parents) don’t choose them. One technical question: do you think the center of that bottom drawer will eventually sag? If so, what would be your fix after the fact?

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you! So glad you enjoy the build process (however chaotic it can be sometimes haha). I don’t have any concerns about the bottom drawer. The shortest distance between supports is front to back. So I don’t anticipate the bottom sagging. And unless they’re filling the drawers with pennies, I don’t see the drawer box itself sagging either. More than likely, the amount of weight needed to bow the 5”+ tall drawer box would have already maxed out the slides.

    • @amberhuls3359
      @amberhuls3359 3 месяца назад +1

      @@WoodshopDiaries Good point about the height vs. the possible filling with stuff, aside from pennies.😉 Total side question: ever thought of making a tansu step cabinet? Similar to what people use in tiny homes for storage stairs. I’m working myself up to making one and would love to see your take on it because your skills far exceed my own. 😬

    super nice thanks a lot! in CA I never see a cidar panel can be that beautiful, at least Lowes/Home depot building material can hardly be used for furniture, they are all bowed or out of shape. The only thing seems to be the janka or all wood are very soft, so you do over build which reduce space utilization. Would hardwood floor panel be a better choice? say using single floor panel 3/4x3" for footing, how do you think?
