  • Hey friends, let's build a bathroom vanity with fluted drawer fronts and doors, an off center sink, and a countertop cabinet--all in one video!
    Not going to lie, I think this may be my favorite project of all time. The fluted detail is pretty cool and the fact that this is going into my bathroom (so I made it for keeps!) is probably what makes me love it so much.
    So I hope you love watching it come together as much as I enjoyed building it!

    Shara, I honestly have to say this is the most beautiful piece you've built. Not taking away anything from the former furniture you've made, but the craftsmanship and attention to detail gave this piece a blue ribbon. Have a great weekend. Steve

    Well, I can certainly see why you've been so pumped to show this project off. That's some beautiful red oak, and your creative use of the fluted trim casing (both as drawer/door front inserts and trim details) really makes the design stand out! There's just something about natural wood grain that really says "high-end"😌... love me some oak furniture. I also liked the eclectic mix of joinery techniques. That's going to look great in your bathroom (hope we get a peek at the finished product!) P.S. 11:40 there's no such thing as a "bad" time for a pet break🐕🐈.

      I actually had two clips of Bubs bringing live mice into the shop that I ended up cutting out before posting 🤣 I didn’t want anyone to get mad about it, but I’m going to make a short of that and share it because it was quite funny 🤣

    This is absolutely gorgeous! I've been struggling with finding the right look for the vainty in my guest bathroom, and I really must thank you, because I've found a lot of inspiration in this video! Both the style and the color is so outside my usual aesthetic, but it will compliment the space I'm working with so perfectly! I'll admit, I was a bit upset when you started staining such an already beautiful red oak, but seeing how it looks as a finished product, you absolutely 110% made the right call, and it's beautiful!

      I hate filming inside the house. It’s always cramped and the camera is in the way. But…I may make a Yt short video of it because it would be fun to share a quick glimpse! I just have to get motivated to patch this drywall first 😅

    Could you do a “secrets to maximum productivity in woodworking” video showing your work flow and include specifics of how you keep your shop so tidy? And maybe also how fast you work. Like do you do a certain amount of work every day or do you have a time chunk that you “work” each day? Would be cool if you took a specific future project and made a video regarding this side of it (and same build us for another video with the build details as usual).

    • @WoodshopDiaries
      @WoodshopDiaries  2 месяца назад

      That’s a great idea! But, half of the process and time spent is in literally just filming it and not actually working on building the project. And I’m not really sure that’s what you’re wanting to know. My secret to maximum productivity would be to ditch the camera 🤣

    Wow, that's a beautiful vanity! Turning the flutes vertical was an unexpected move and gives the piece a super high-end look. You have a fantastic eye for design.

    Shara, I truly need to thank you. I went thru many of your videos and finally able to build bench at my breakfast area. It turned out awesome. I consider myself as below beginner. I went thru all the tools (most of) and brought them and started. You deserve my heartfelt gratitude and I mean it. I am not sure, how I can share my work picture.

    This build is amazing! So well done! I like how you used the cutoffs of the fluted boards as trim - nothing goes to waste. Fantastic job, as always! And I see that, as of today, you are almost to a quarter million subscribers. Very well deserved. :)

    maybe one day u can make a video with full tutorial in how to make a floating bathroom vanity with 3 drawers ...need to build one to replace a long vanity wich is very old..i want to go more "modern" farm house style but i do not have any idea in how to make one, how to attach it to the wall so the vanity can support the weight of the long large piece of granite. I may do it in two parts to be able to buy remmanents so it will be cheaper and make something like the tower u did in this video...need cheap, easy to build for a non carpenter vintage old female...thank you for educating us...so much appreciated. Ps. for my other bathroom who still in ruins since Harvey hit Houston about 8 years ago I purchased an antique dresser that i need to cut down to make it the perfect height...

    Shara, Wow! I think you used all the tools and all the techniques you've been sharing with us on this one. Very impressive and a spectacular result. You even had Lucy and Bub's in here for a few moments. I feel my heart racing with excitement and after it slows down a bit I'm going to have to watch this one again! I cut and rolled my lawn here on Monday and it snowed this Friday. So I got plenty of projects started but then stalled some in my unheated shop. Wishing you a great weekend. Thanks for Sharing!

      @WoodshopDiaries  2 месяца назад +1

      Lucy and Bubs were a big help for this build haha! Bubs actually brought two live mice into the shop while I was working and I had to cut that footage from the video 😂🙈 That wasn't helpful, but it was...eventful. I hope the weather warms up for you and there's no snow in the foreseeable forecast soon! We hit another cold snap last week, but thankfully we avoided snow. Hoping spring is here to stay now! Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a great weekend!

    That vanity is amazing! Just a stunning design. Love the chunky look of the legs and the fluting on the doors and drawers looks beautiful. I copied the vanity design of another female DIYer last year, but I wish I had seen this one before I built that one. I'm 100% going to build your vanity one day. I just bought a t-shirt from your merch shop to support your channel. Cheers!

    This turned out so amazing Shara!!! I love how unusual it is with the fluted fronts. It's great that you came up with a way to use the edges from the fluted boards to frame the fluted pieces on the drawers/doors. Nothing went to waste. It's great you're keeping this since you went to the trouble of making the solid wood panels and it's so beautiful. Had to laugh at Bubby walking across the wood as you're gluing it. Has he ever walked through the glue and tracked it across a project? I can picture him doing that. Lucy looked like she was enjoying the build also. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your creativity!
