    Hi! Do you have any recommendations on fan speeds? I'm new to OC and want to keep my GPU chilly and not risk any overheating/thermal throttling.

    • @SkatterBencher
      @SkatterBencher  2 года назад +5

      I always leave the the fan speed configuration at default since it's mapped against the GPU temperature. That means under load the fans will ramp up and in idle they will ramp down (or even completely stop).

    • @SkatterBencher

      Most of the time not but since overclocking means you're running the chip beyond its warranted specification, there's an increased risk of hardware damage

      Should reword your comment to - "I don't know what I'm talking about, don't overclock your card because it will overheat and have a noticeable reduction in life. It will now last you 6 years instead of 6.2. I understand all perimeters are safe, and nothing can be damaged as set by the manufacioner. But still, don't do it and it'll break your card"

      Hehehe heheh, this guy... truth hurts bro... You aint going to have this card for more than 2 years...and they meant to last from 6 to 10 years... A heavy OC to a High end card, only takes like 5 months out of the life of it... But in 6 years, that graphics card will be useless... Btw, AMD Ryzen Zen 5 comes on May nex year, meaning... This card will las until that Day...

      My nephew just had this happen to his machine, it went into a "boot loop". It was because some of the programs that were automatically starting up when he booted up had gotten corrupted because he thought the power button was an on/off button and wasn't shutting down properly.
      I manually closed every program that tried to start by right clicking on the icon that appeared in the system tray as soon as it appeared and clicked "close window". Then, I went into his startup programs and killed everything that wasn't needed to actually boot the machine (killed discord laucher, epic games launcher, and a couple of other things).
      You can go through all the startup apps in Windows and shut down that that aren't needed to run Windows when you boot, or download Quick Startup, and kill (disable) all the unnecessary programs that are launching from there.
      That fixed the problem on his machine. We ended up redownloading and reinstalling one of them, discord I think, when we discovered it wasn't working right when launched on it's own, and was most likely the culprit causing the problem in the first place.
