I am only a couple years into the hobby. Out of what ive played my top 10 would have to be.... 1. Barrage 2. Ark Nova 3. Lost ruins of arnak 4. Clank 5. Wingspan 6. Brass birmingham 7. Seven wonders duel 8. Gloomhaven 9. Scythe 10. Tidal blades
I'm so happy that I pledged Earth. Can't wait to try it! My top ten would be. 1. Ark Nova 2. Mage Knight 3. Gloomhaven 4. Terraforming Mars 5. Eldritch Horror 6. Root 7. Spirit Island 8. War of the Ring 9. Cascadia 10. Castles of Burgundy
Mage Knight, Gloomhaven and Spirit Island are games I really love also, something extremely satisfying in that heavy card-based puzzle! Ark Nova has also been a smash hit in my group, hoping to get it played a bit more before I know where it ends up though!
I love the discussion you had about how your favourite games are not just the same as your highest "out of 10" ratings. Personally, when I think about how much I like a game, I always ask myself: How much do I enjoy this game when I lose? My top 10 I could lose over and over again for the rest of my life and I'd still keep playing them.
1. Dwellings of Eldervale 2. Eclipse Second Dawn 3. Wonderlands War 4. Champions of Midgard 5. Inis 6. Foundations of Rome 7. Cyclades 8. Blood Rage 9. Tigris and Euphrates 10. Dune Imperium
We just got a copy of deluxe wonderland’s war from someone on BGG, and I love it so much!! My husband and I stayed up til 2 AM the other day playing it, and I can’t wait to try it again. Gorgeous game! I hope they make the chips for retail version someday. I love the minis too, but the standees look like a good economical substitute.
This is a great top 10 list, my top 10 games are: 1. Kanban EV 2. Brass Birmingham 3. Anachrony 4. Ankh Gods of Egypt 5. Nemesis 6. On Mars 7. Eclipse Second Dawn for the Galaxy 7. Rurik Dawn of Kiev 8. Lisboa 9. Obsession 10. Xia Legends of a drift system

Nice lists. Great lists everyone! Mage Knight takes a lot of work to get onto the table, but ohh yes the card play is phenomenal. I just need to go through Jeremy's complete list and make sure I have tried them all seems lik e his taste and mine are very close. Thank you all for this great list ( and all the ones leading up to it)
This was a fun watch! Lots of overlap with some of my favorites. 1. Ark Nova 2. Castles of Burgundy 3. Terraforming Mars 4. Great Western Trail 5. Wingspan 6. Gaia Project 7. Pulsar 2849 8. Raiders of Scythia 9. Viticulture 10. Circadians: First Light
1. Res Arcana 2. Viscounts of the West Kingdom 3. Neuroshima Hex! 3.0 4. Maracaibo 5. Winter Kingdom 6. Troyes 7. A Feast for Odin 8. Pax Pamir: Second Edition 9. Spirit Island 10. Nations
Totally agree with Jeremy in regards to the feel of Mage Knight. There is just something about figuring out the puzzle of how your cards chain together that is immensely satisfying. There's no unlucky dice roll to throw that planning stage out the window either - you min/max the cards in your hand for the situation, or accept defeat and find a way to do it next round based on what is accessible to you on the board. The combination of card play and map movement also leads to so much variability in how you choose to use your actions. The integration of mechanisms and theme is also perfectly done, with rarely any silly moments where the flavour of the cards doesn't make any contextual sense (unlike all of the Arkham games), making it incredibly engrossing. There's a reason that game has stuck around for 11 years and barely faltered from the top spot on so many top solo game lists. It's master game design and an absolute classic. I really don't see anything ever knocking it from my top spot. My only complaint is that I wish there were more expansions coming. Just tell me where to throw my money to make it happen.
I very much enjoyed this video! My Top 10 as of August 1. Terraforming Mars 2. Marvel Champions 3. The Great Wall 4. Paladins of the West Kingdom 5. Champions of Midgard 6. Dinosaur World 7. Wingspan 8. Wonderlands War 9. Gloomhaven 10. Caverna
Completely agree with Emily on Nertz. Though I play it a little bit differently from the directions given, it's still the same game. But, by far, my #1 game is Wingspan, 2 - Dice Forge, 3 - Quacks of Quedlinburg, 4 - Isle of Cats, 5 - Sagrada, 6 - Nertz, 7 - Potion Explosion, 8 - Bunny Kingdom, 9 - Azul, 10 - Camel Up. Understand, I mostly play lighter games that my family enjoys, and I've only been in the hobby for about three years now. That being said though, I've played games my whole life, just never knew about games outside of the big box stores.
NERTZ!!! Wow, that brings back so many memories! Excellent lists across the board! I've now got a bunch of games I need to try (especially Lacerda's). My top 10 feels like it's always in flux, depending on what my group is playing at the time, but here is my current one: 10. Castles of Mad King Ludwig 9. Viticulture Essential (w/ Tuscany) 8. Blood Rage 7. Marvel Champions 6. A Feast for Odin 5. Scythe 4. Root 3. Dead Reckoning 2. Arkham Horror: The Living Card Game 1. Dune: Imperium
Some nice titles in your lists ! After some years of playing under my belt. I would say that atm (Haven't tried Ark nova yet). My top would looks like this : 1 Aeon's End 2 Lotr Lcg 3 Flipships 4 Cascadia 5 Spirit Island 6 Downforce (with a bgg variant scoring) 7 Warp's Edge 8 Set a watch 9 Detective club 10 Cthulhu death may die If i ever had only ten games, i would be happy with this list as there's every kind of games ! From coop to solo to party games... From light and medium to heavy. And that's something i missed from a lot of TOP 10 lists where we only see "big box" nor "games" Cheers from Belgium
I love Orleans, but I feel like the University track is the only way to win. If you try a goods strategy, then there are 3 times during the game that the hour glass tiles penalize you for that strategy. There are 3 tiles that reward you for going up the university track. I played a game where there were very few brocade tiles on the board so I took the place that lets you get brocade. I got crushed. So if anyone can argue that taking places that give you goods is ever an option, I could move this game up my list. Traveling for goods is beneficial because of the trading stations you can put down.
Five Tribes at number 9?? That is an awesome choice! I would be glad to play that with you. I have never rated my games but i think Five Tribes would be number 1 for me. I also got it at Gencon when it debuted. I was in the hall prepping for the day, went over to the booth and saw Bruno sitting at the table getting ready. I told him that his game was THE GAME I wasnt leaving without :) It has never disappointed me and has only gotten better the more Ive played it.
FYI, the box cover you guys had up for Sid Meier's Civilization the boardgame is the 2002 version not the 2010 version. That one is an entirely different beast.
1- Perseverance: Castaway Chronicles 2 - Spirit Island 3 - Brass: Birmingham 4 - Anachrony 5 - On Mars 6 - Tekhenu 7 - Great Western Trail 8 - Yedo: Deluxe Master Set 9 - Scythe 10 - Kanban EV In my 11-20 I also have Gloomhaven, Concordia, and Terraforming Mars. Ark Nova was at 51 when I made my list back in April, but it will be higher when I rank my games again next year. If I included unpublished games Voidfall would be in the top 10 and Weather Machine in the top 20. Thanks for the top 50, that was a lot of fun to watch!
So happy with the love for Nertz!! Absolutely my favorite card game of all time! I also have a ton of decks of cards and while I think they're fun and beautiful, it's mostly so we can play Nertz. Love it so much!
Very unpopular opinion: I bought Kanban expecting a very thematic experience and I actually found it to be the most.... I mean I get that ultimately all euro games are about moving tokens around a board and scoring victory points, so in that way this criticism is going to make you think "but that's EVERY euro game", but for me Kanban actually has the least thematic integration of any euro I've played (and I'll admit I'm not the most experienced). For example, for all the criticism it receives for luck of the card draw, in viticulture there is at least a sequence of 1) buy grape seeds 2) plant them 3) harvest them 4) make wine 5) sell the wine to earn money and score points, and in there there are some engine enhancements that make sense: selling a field for a one-time monetary boost, building something that can give you extra income each turn, etc. etc. Or take Manhattan Project: EE, you need to invest in your energy production industries (e.g. acquire blue, green, black, or brown dice), some of those pollute more than others, but you also need to acquire steel, plastic, etc. in order to build various institutions, and of course all the while you are having to worry about cleaning up the environment. In contrast: Kanban EV is about moving tokens around, period. It would be soooooo much better if it was a more traditional resource acquisition and engine building game, because that's what factories are. Sorry to be so critical but I guess I just felt like I spent a ton of money on what I thought would feel thematic and then.... just feels like a bait and switch. I should also mention, I purchased it with the intention of playing it solo. Maybe that's my problem, and maybe I'd like it more if I could play it multiplayer.
Looking at Ryan's list, I think we might be the same person haha. I'll definitely take note of new games he loves going forward. My top 10: 10. Great Western Trail 9. Planet Unknown 8. Ark Nova 7. Grand Austria Hotel 6. Voyages of Marco Polo 5. Patchwork 4. Food Chain Magnate 3. Shakespeare 2. Feast for Odin 1. Marvel Champions
Great lists!! Definitely think Ark Nova and Gloomhaven are the most overrated games ever. Love that games like GAH, Anachrony, Earth, Voyages of MP and Orleans made the lists though.
Comparing what PubMeeple says my top 50 is with your lists, I think I resonate most with Emily's choices, which means I really need to finally try a Lacerda game! Lol. So, with the caveat that I've never tried Lacerda or Rosenberg (except Glass Road), and only small games from Pfister.... Here's what PubMeeple spits out for my top 10: 10) Tichu 9) The Century Games (if you pin me down, it's Sand to Sea, which is #1 + #2) 8) Viticulture Essential + Tuscany 7) Everdell 6) Notre Dame 5) Dune: Imperium 4) Troyes 3) Terraforming Mars 2) Castles of Burgundy 1) Gaia Project
Great series guys, thanks for all the time and effort putting it all together! Such an interesting mix of games on everyone's lists, I've really enjoyed looking a lot of them up and adding some to my Wishlist (17 to be exact lol). I'm really surprised how many of my own Top 10 appeared in this video too. So the million dollar question.....did you all play Nertz together after filming??? Ok Jeremy, I'll commit to my Top 10......but man some of those PubMeeple decisions are brutal!!! So in order of 10 - 1 I got: Under Falling Skies; Merchants of the Dark Road; Arkham Horror LCG; Bot Factory; Too Many Bones; The Magnificent; Mansions of Madness; Dune Imperium; Robinson Crusoe; This War of Mine.
Loved the interactions between everyone and the passion! Thank you for all the work that went into making this series. Emily has so many Lacerda games on her list, I wonder if any of the Vital Lacerda games are good to solo as these are hard to table?
I seem to remember some of the newer ones (in terms of publish/republish dates) got Turczi designed solo modes. Also, Bot Factory is a cut-down Kanban so it should be easier to table.
Great fun watching your lists and some surprising choices for me. I think Orleans & Ark Nova are now even higher up on my list of “want to play” games. My top 10 1 A FEAST FOR ODIN 2 DUNE IMPERIUM 3 CASTLES OF BURGUNDY 4 NEMESIS 5 TWILIGHT IMPERIUM IV 6 TAPESTRY 7 GREAT WESTERN TRAIL 8 LOST RUINS OF ARNAK 9 DINOSAUR ISLAND 10 COSMIC ENCOUNTER
For me, I tend to be driven simplicity and elegance. Here's my current top ten (There's no such thing as "of all time", because there's all the games I haven't played yet!): 10. Quiddler 9. Waterworks 8. Cathedral 7. Dixit 6. Carcasonne 5. Hive 4. Mile Bornes 3. Bears and the Bees 2. Azul (any variant) 1. Umbra Via
So many great games! Also a few surprises here and there... Here's mine: 10. Isle of Skye 9. The Estates 8. Agricola 7. Power Grid 6. Lords of Vegas 5. Modern Art 4. Roll for the Galaxy 3. Chicago Express 2. The Princes of Florence 1. Backgammon
I'm totally with you Emily. Earth is amazing. I played it like 7 times in a row when it dropped on TTS before the Kickstarter. Love to see Folklore in Jeremy's top 10. I'm with Ryan in that Marvel Champions is my number one game. I just don't get all the love for Ark Nova though. It's a perfectly fine game and I would play it if someone wanted to, but it wouldn't even make a top 50 list for me. An enjoyable video as always everyone!
This was a much anticipated video. Fantastic list with many cross over with my list. I love each of your comments for why it is in your top 10. I will have to get some of those games I have not tried just on the hype you expressed for them. I can't wait to see where Endless Winter will end up in your list next year. I should receive my KS copy this fall. It will be in my top 10 list for sure next year after playing it on TTS.
Jeremy I love seeing too many bones so high. This game has grabbed me hard. In like 3 months I’ve played over 30 times. It is the only reason I will attempt games solo now. Your list is dangerous for my wallet. Great video, the enthusiasm you all have makes me want to play all of these
I'll pay Nertz with you! My mom and I played "double solitaire" all the time when I was growing up. It's basically the same thing. You both play solitaire with your own deck and share the ace piles. When nobody can play, the person with the most played cards in the ace piles wins. Love playing it with my mom. I need to teach my daughters.
I'm so sick of "best games Of ALL TIME!" list videos... But this whole series has been fun, and having you all together for the Finale - chef's kiss! I *really* want to play Spirit Island with Jeremy now! X
good show everyone... your top 10 were good to hear and see... Here is my top 10 so far 10- Teotihuacan (Any of the T Games) 9- Roll Player 8- Robinson Caruso 7- Eldritch Horror 6- Legendary (All of them in the series Aliens, James Bond, Marvel, ect..) 5- Mystic Vale 4- Spirit Island 3- Talisman 2- Aeon's End 1- Arkham Horror 2nd Edition
This was so fun to watch. I played so much Nertz as a kid/teenager and forgot about it until now. Anachrony and Spirit Island are still on my shelf of shame, hopefully I'll get to them soon. I have so much cross over with everyone. My top 10 are: 1. Five Tribes 2. Race for the Galaxy 3. Yokohama 4. The Castles of Burgundy 5. Marco Polo II/Marco Polo I 6. Viticulture Essential Edition 7. A Feast for Odin 8. Terraforming Mars 9. Teotihuacan: City of Gods 10. Caverna: The Cave Farmers
NERTZ! I grew up playing that game and when I was first married my wife and I played that game easily more than 200 times. We had a running score board! Then we got into other hobby games and haven't really looked back but man, maybe we are gonna play some Nertz tonight for old time sake. With more than 4 players this game is pure chaos!
My 10->1 But first my number 11 and some games with potential (p) once I get them played: P1. Star Wars: Rebellion P2. Petrichor 11. Robinson Crusoe 🥁 10. Architects of the West Kingdom 9. Everdell 8. Terraforming Mars 7. Tzolk’in 6. Santorini 5. Star Wars: Outer Rim 4. Yedo (deluxe master set) 3. Near & Far 2. Above & Below 🥁 1. Catan Catan was an early game into the hobby. I’ve studied strategies and still occasionally compete in tournaments. I dig the tournament level play of Catan and I can mess around with casual games and try to make it difficult for myself. Cities & Knights probably technically is more my favorite than base, but I’ll cheat a bit and just say the whole world.
Guys, I feel like I'm in a room with four friends and I was dying to know every next game. This video was affirming (great minds think alike haha), educational, and fun all at the same time.
Decided to do a pubmeeple ranking, I threw 27 games into the ring (out of a collection of 100+) and ranked them and this ended up being my top 10. 1 Terra Mystica 2 Marco Polo II: In the Service of the Khan 3 Everdell 4 Underwater Cities 5 The Voyages of Marco Polo 6 Woodcraft 7 Tawantinsuyu: The Inca Empire 8 Terraforming Mars 9 Boonlake 10 Tiletum My top 5 is pretty cemented picks for me. #1 has held the top spot for nearly a decade and has yet to be dethroned (I just don't see that happening, after 50+ plays I am always thrilled to get it back to the table - the sequel does make some interesting changes to the system and I enjoy it a lot, but ultimately the tighter play of the original still wins out for me). My favourite designer is Simone Luciani, so no surprise 3 of his games hit my top 10 (and another nearly made it there as well). Voyages was for a long time my #2, finally dethroned by its own sequel. I agree the powers in Voyages definitely beats out the ones in the sequel, but there are just so many other things the sequel does better that it ultimately has become my favourite of his, but still Voyages remains in the top 10 so it didn't "fall" that far. I looked down the list to see if there were any I wanted to move around, and while I probably could move it around a little, there weren't really any "glaring" mistakes there. Will list numbers 11-15 as honorable mentions since any of them could have broken the top 10 given a different day/mood, lol 11 Newton 12 Gaia Project 13 Deus 14 Carnegie 15 Paladins of the West Kingdom
My own top 10: 10. The Crew: Mission Deep Sea 9. Orleans 8. Spirit Island 7. Taj Mahal 6. Clans 5. Tyrants of the Underdark 4. Ginkgopolis 3. Isle of Skye 2. Inis 1. Dune: Imperium Honourable Mention: Five Tribes that would probably be #11
I think you have the wrong thumbnail for Sid Meier’s Civilization…that is a different version. I think Ryan might have meant the FFG one from 2010. Great video so far! I adore Race for the Galaxy, definitely a to- 3 game for me, especially playing on BGA! It is great with or without expansions…The Gathering Storm has some fun goals to compete over.oh, and Ark Nova is also a to- game for me, hands down, i am almost 50 plays in and still want to play. Overall, a great selection of games on your lists…and Emily’s 6 is definitely a surprise! Can’t wait for Weather Machine.
My top 10 as of today 1. Dwellings of Eldervale 2. Spirit Island 3. Brass Birmingham 4. Circadians First Light 5. Raiders of the North Sea 6. Too Many Bones 7. Dune: Imperium 8. Cthulhu death may die 9. Kanban EV 10. Aeons End Legacy of Gravehold

1. Dwellings of Eldervale

Nice list! Again, we're seeing a great variety of game types in a lot of top 10s people are sharing. I mean, your list spans a lot of categories! 😀
Great job, guys. You all seem very sincere, honest, passionate, knowledgeable, and down-to-Earth. I refer to your channel often, as well as Radcliffe and Dice Tower. It's funny; left to right, this panel reminds me a lot of Zee, Wendy, National Treasure himself Mike Dilisio, and King Vasel.
I don't mind the comparison!

2. Scythe
3. Chaos in the Old World
4. Ankh: God's of Egypt
5. Rising Sun

In no particular Oder;
- Pulsar 2849

- Terraforming Mars
- Orleans
- Lords of Waterdeep
- DUNE Imperium
- Summoner Wars
- Mage Knight

No order is the best way to go
Can't argue with any of these
I love that my #1 gaming experience of all time was playing Orleans w/ David at Origins. The look on his face when we revealed the rule mistake was priceless.
I always love Jeremy’s choices. Anachrony is so amazing! The new solo design is so good, you’re right. ❤️

5. Wingspan
6. Gaia Project
7. Pulsar 2849
8. Raiders of Scythia
9. Viticulture
10. Circadians: First Light
I gave Mage Knight 3 plays, couldn't get into it. I want to play Kanban but should I just get EV?
I was lucky enough to play Earth with Emily at Buckeye Game Fest! Such a great game and Emily was a great teacher!!
1. Res Arcana
2. Viscounts of the West Kingdom
3. Neuroshima Hex! 3.0
4. Maracaibo
5. Winter Kingdom
6. Troyes
7. A Feast for Odin
8. Pax Pamir: Second Edition
9. Spirit Island
10. Nations
Glad to see many of my Top 15 in those lists.
I own over 600 games and have only ever played brass and Concordia from your list. Crazy.
Great list ! :)
I must say I love this top 10. Not as predictable as others and a few games I didn´t know about.
I very much enjoyed this video!
My Top 10 as of August
1. Terraforming Mars
2. Marvel Champions
3. The Great Wall
4. Paladins of the West Kingdom
5. Champions of Midgard
6. Dinosaur World
7. Wingspan
8. Wonderlands War
9. Gloomhaven
10. Caverna
Woah what a ride team. Thanks for sharing your top games with us all and like Jeremy said I think we know a bit more about who you are.
Jeremy is definitely showing off my favorites!!
A list of the games would be nice - making it easier to put into wishlist after watching.
NERTZ!!! Wow, that brings back so many memories!
Excellent lists across the board! I've now got a bunch of games I need to try (especially Lacerda's). My top 10 feels like it's always in flux, depending on what my group is playing at the time, but here is my current one:
10. Castles of Mad King Ludwig
9. Viticulture Essential (w/ Tuscany)
8. Blood Rage
7. Marvel Champions
6. A Feast for Odin
5. Scythe
4. Root
3. Dead Reckoning
2. Arkham Horror: The Living Card Game
1. Dune: Imperium
Some nice titles in your lists !
After some years of playing under my belt.
I would say that atm (Haven't tried Ark nova yet). My top would looks like this :
1 Aeon's End
2 Lotr Lcg
3 Flipships
4 Cascadia
5 Spirit Island
6 Downforce (with a bgg variant scoring)
7 Warp's Edge
8 Set a watch
9 Detective club
10 Cthulhu death may die
If i ever had only ten games, i would be happy with this list as there's every kind of games ! From coop to solo to party games... From light and medium to heavy. And that's something i missed from a lot of TOP 10 lists where we only see "big box" nor "games"
Cheers from Belgium
Who's the Tom Vassel look-a-like?!
Ha! Don't you mean that the Dice Tower has a Ryan Schoon look-a-like? 🤣
I really like how you have different taste and the variety of the list.
Thanks! Yeah, all of us have a little overlap, but there are definitely varied tastes among the team.
Great video, thank you! Ryan - in mu opinion you win! :) I love your list, I believe we have similar taste.
Loved the shout-out to Nertz! Grew up playing it. Great stuff! Also, shout-out to dutch blitz 💪
You 4 have talked about 40 games and i think at least half of them are amazing! I think i need to be playing games with all of you.
Thanks! If you're ever in the Indy area, or at a con, let us know.
1- Perseverance: Castaway Chronicles
2 - Spirit Island
3 - Brass: Birmingham
4 - Anachrony
5 - On Mars
6 - Tekhenu
7 - Great Western Trail
8 - Yedo: Deluxe Master Set
9 - Scythe
10 - Kanban EV
In my 11-20 I also have Gloomhaven, Concordia, and Terraforming Mars. Ark Nova was at 51 when I made my list back in April, but it will be higher when I rank my games again next year. If I included unpublished games Voidfall would be in the top 10 and Weather Machine in the top 20.
Thanks for the top 50, that was a lot of fun to watch!
Jeremy you and I have the same taste in games. I loved seeing this, thanks to everyone.
One of the best top 10s of all time videos!
Looking at Ryan's list, I think we might be the same person haha. I'll definitely take note of new games he loves going forward.
My top 10:
10. Great Western Trail
9. Planet Unknown
8. Ark Nova
7. Grand Austria Hotel
6. Voyages of Marco Polo
5. Patchwork
4. Food Chain Magnate
3. Shakespeare
2. Feast for Odin
1. Marvel Champions
No "Nemesis" at all!!!!!!!!😳😳😳😳😳😳
I Agree with Ryan, no such things as too much Marvel Champions! It's my favorite game also! Loved the lists guys keep up the great content.
Finally! Been looking forward to this episode. Keep up the awesome work!
“If there’s a game that you lose at a lot, but still love to play”…Great Western Trail!
Great lists!! Definitely think Ark Nova and Gloomhaven are the most overrated games ever. Love that games like GAH, Anachrony, Earth, Voyages of MP and Orleans made the lists though.
I feel ya. Those are my favs though. To each their own and thanks for watching.
Here's what PubMeeple spits out for my top 10:
10) Tichu
9) The Century Games (if you pin me down, it's Sand to Sea, which is #1 + #2)
8) Viticulture Essential + Tuscany
7) Everdell
6) Notre Dame
5) Dune: Imperium
4) Troyes
3) Terraforming Mars
2) Castles of Burgundy
1) Gaia Project
1. Marvel Champions
2. Caverna
3. Root
4. Blood Rage
5. Forgotten Waters
6. Clank! Legacy
7. Food Chain Magnate
8. Everdell
9. Heroes of Land, Air and Sea
10. Chronicles of Crime
If you love Nertz; you need to check out Dutch Blitz. Very similar concept with a slightly better real time component.
Love the Marvel Champions rant! It is also my #1 as well and I just got into it this year.
So in order of 10 - 1 I got:
Under Falling Skies; Merchants of the Dark Road; Arkham Horror LCG; Bot Factory; Too Many Bones; The Magnificent; Mansions of Madness; Dune Imperium; Robinson Crusoe; This War of Mine.
Kanban EV and On Mars have pretty solid solo modes, and I believe there is a solo mode coming for Weather Machine (unless it is already out…)
Earth will be the One for me as well, omg!
It's such a good game!
Really want to try Arc Nova, Mage Knight and Concordia now!
Great fun watching your lists and some surprising choices for me.
I think Orleans & Ark Nova are now even higher up on my list of “want to play” games.
My top 10
1 A FEAST FOR ODIN
2 DUNE IMPERIUM
3 CASTLES OF BURGUNDY
4 NEMESIS
5 TWILIGHT IMPERIUM IV
6 TAPESTRY
7 GREAT WESTERN TRAIL
8 LOST RUINS OF ARNAK
9 DINOSAUR ISLAND
10 COSMIC ENCOUNTER
For me, I tend to be driven simplicity and elegance. Here's my current top ten (There's no such thing as "of all time", because there's all the games I haven't played yet!):
10. Quiddler
9. Waterworks
8. Cathedral
7. Dixit
6. Carcasonne
5. Hive
4. Mile Bornes
3. Bears and the Bees
2. Azul (any variant)
1. Umbra Via
There is nothing wrong with a simple elegant game!
So many great games! Also a few surprises here and there...
Here's mine:
10. Isle of Skye
9. The Estates
8. Agricola
7. Power Grid
6. Lords of Vegas
5. Modern Art
4. Roll for the Galaxy
3. Chicago Express
2. The Princes of Florence
1. Backgammon
So cool to see the classic version of Terraforming Mars still making the top 10. Great one.
Great video, the enthusiasm you all have makes me want to play all of these
Surprised at all the Quarto love! Definitely my favorite abstract game, it's very underrated!
It's THE best simple abstract game (IMO). 😉
Here is my top 10 so far
10- Teotihuacan (Any of the T Games)
9- Roll Player
8- Robinson Caruso
7- Eldritch Horror
6- Legendary (All of them in the series Aliens, James Bond, Marvel, ect..)
5- Mystic Vale
4- Spirit Island
3- Talisman
2- Aeon's End
1- Arkham Horror 2nd Edition
This was so fun to watch. I played so much Nertz as a kid/teenager and forgot about it until now. Anachrony and Spirit Island are still on my shelf of shame, hopefully I'll get to them soon. I have so much cross over with everyone. My top 10 are:
1. Five Tribes
2. Race for the Galaxy
3. Yokohama
4. The Castles of Burgundy
5. Marco Polo II/Marco Polo I
6. Viticulture Essential Edition
7. A Feast for Odin
8. Terraforming Mars
9. Teotihuacan: City of Gods
10. Caverna: The Cave Farmers
One of the best top 10s out there, two enthusiastic thumbs up, thanks for making this series!
Great lineup of games! Great video MVM team
NERTZ! I grew up playing that game and when I was first married my wife and I played that game easily more than 200 times. We had a running score board! Then we got into other hobby games and haven't really looked back but man, maybe we are gonna play some Nertz tonight for old time sake. With more than 4 players this game is pure chaos!
Oh...two of you picked Quarto. I must have it. I can put it on my coffee table next to Quantik.
My 10->1
But first my number 11 and some games with potential (p) once I get them played:
P1. Star Wars: Rebellion
P2. Petrichor
11. Robinson Crusoe
🥁
10. Architects of the West Kingdom
9. Everdell
8. Terraforming Mars
7. Tzolk’in
6. Santorini
5. Star Wars: Outer Rim
4. Yedo (deluxe master set)
3. Near & Far
2. Above & Below
🥁
1. Catan
Catan was an early game into the hobby. I’ve studied strategies and still occasionally compete in tournaments. I dig the tournament level play of Catan and I can mess around with casual games and try to make it difficult for myself. Cities & Knights probably technically is more my favorite than base, but I’ll cheat a bit and just say the whole world.
Really enjoyed the entire series. Great jobs guys! :)
Guys, I feel like I'm in a room with four friends and I was dying to know every next game. This video was affirming (great minds think alike haha), educational, and fun all at the same time.
Mage Knight is amazing!
Loved every minute of this😃
Emily you are Amazing.. your top 10 was so refreshing . Thank you
Ryan's Marvel Champions is my Arkham Horror the card game
I love me some Arkham Horror.
Jeremy's top ten is fire.
1 A Feast for Odin
2 Scythe
3 Crokinole
4 Blood Rage
5 Dune Imperium
6 Viticulture
7 7 Wonders
8 Robinson Crusoe
9 Spirit Island
10 Acension Tactics
Great series everyone, thank you ! Also, LOL, RUclips interpreted that "WOW" in the title as World of Warcraft.
Decided to do a pubmeeple ranking, I threw 27 games into the ring (out of a collection of 100+) and ranked them and this ended up being my top 10.
1 Terra Mystica
2 Marco Polo II: In the Service of the Khan
3 Everdell
4 Underwater Cities
5 The Voyages of Marco Polo
6 Woodcraft
7 Tawantinsuyu: The Inca Empire
8 Terraforming Mars
9 Boonlake
10 Tiletum
My top 5 is pretty cemented picks for me.
Will list numbers 11-15 as honorable mentions since any of them could have broken the top 10 given a different day/mood, lol
11 Newton
12 Gaia Project
13 Deus
14 Carnegie
15 Paladins of the West Kingdom
Shout out to Don't Mess With Cthulhu! Truly an underrated gem in social deduction that would need a better edition
My own top 10:
10. The Crew: Mission Deep Sea
9. Orleans
8. Spirit Island
7. Taj Mahal
6. Clans
5. Tyrants of the Underdark
4. Ginkgopolis
3. Isle of Skye
2. Inis
1. Dune: Imperium
Honourable Mention: Five Tribes that would probably be #11
It's fun matching you to people in my play group! I'm ~Jeremy.
Nertz is basically Dutch blitz!
Such a good watch!
Woohoo!!!! Been looking forward to this!!!
Best of luck with the WW reprint!
What a fun list! I think I have the most similar taste as Jeremy. Everyone had some great choices, though!
Yep, the 2010 version! But at least the photos were correct!
Wow Jeremy...cool number 10. We own and love Quantik. It looks like a similar design as Quarto.
My top 10 as of today
1. Dwellings of Eldervale
2. Spirit Island
3. Brass Birmingham
4. Circadians First Light
5. Raiders of the North Sea
6. Too Many Bones
7. Dune: Imperium
8. Cthulhu death may die
9. Kanban EV
10. Aeons End Legacy of Gravehold
Jeremy said the most thematic Euro and it wasn't Obsession? Interesting.
