    Jamie knew exactly what he was doing when he sat on the Iron Throne. It's not exactly a comfy place to chill. It's a mountain of barbs and melted steel. It's like a 16ft climb in the books, I think.

    • @jerrysstories711

      Exactly. He figured that with the Targs wiped out, his father Tywin would take King's Landing and with his experience as Hand Of The King would become the new king, which would make himself heir to the throne. He was NOT just plopping down on a nearby couch cuz he was so tired!

      @jerrysstories711 He didn't really care, as indicated by his POV in the books. He considered a few different options when asked who to proclaim, after being discovered standing over Aerys' corpse by his fellow kingsguard; amongst his considerations Robert, Viserys, and Tywin. However, though I forget exactly what the line was, it was basically "I don't give a shit. Fetch whoever you want." As a member of the Kingsguard, Jamie couldn't inherit the Iron Throne, so that played no factor in it.

    • @jerrysstories711
      @jerrysstories711 3 месяца назад +6

      @@benjyfry2162 No. With the Targs all dead or fleeing, the nobles had to select a new king. They ultimately chose Robert B, but Tywin was a serious candidate. And a king can dismiss members of the Kingsguard, like Joff did to Sir Barristan. So yes, Jamie could have seen himself as in line for the Iron Throne that day. That's why he climbed all those stairs to sit on the uncomfortable pokey thing.

      After rhagar had his second kid he said there must be one more but the doctors say that if Elia becomes pregnant again she will die, so he met lyanna at the tourney as she was the mystery knight and helped her get away, he then named her love and beauty before continuing to court her, he got her pregnant and told her that there child life will be a song of ice and fire, he leaves her at the tower protected by his 3 most skilled kingsgaurd and went to the war and died. I don't think he annulled his wedding to Elia but I do think he just took another wife and that's why he got married in dorn where polygamy is a thing.

    6:00 Ashara gave birth to Ned's brother Brandon Stark's son, Jon Snow. Ned agreed to take the baby a raise it as his own son. But to protect Stark family honor and oaths, Ned had to marry Cat Tully in place of his dead brother, lie about Jon's parentage, and lie about Jon being younger than Robb and hence not heir to Winterfell. This is why Honorable Ned lied for years, because he was putting Stark family honor above his personal honor.

    • @jbtechcon7434
      @jbtechcon7434 3 месяца назад +4

      @@carastone3473 No, the baby Elia birthed on Dragonstone is long dead, and Viserys and Illyrio lied to Dany. Dany's chapters say repeatedly that all she knows about her family and her infancy is what Illyrio and Viserys told her, because they are lying to her. Varys and Illyrio made a pact to marry Viserys to a Dornish princess and put him on the Iron Throne, remember? But if the Dornish knew that Dany was Rheagar's daughter, they'd probably try to instead marry HER to a Dornish prince and put HER on the Iron Throne--like they're currently trying to do with Myrcella Baratheton. Remember, everything is ASOIAF is from some character's POV, so we only ever read what characters think, never the objective truth.

    • @jerrysstories711
      @jerrysstories711 3 месяца назад +3

      You're absolutely right. R+L=J is a conclusion GRRM set readers up to jump to, but it doesn't make as much sense as R+L=D, Brandon+Ashara=Jon. The funny thing I've noticed is that more careful thoughtful readers figured this out, but then the show simplified things by just leaving Brandon and Ashara out completely and rolling with R+L=J, so all the readers who'd figured out R+L=D assumed they'd been wrong. But then when the show crapped the bed so badly, people started realizing that it wasn't a reliable guide to the books, and the R+L=D theory has resurged.
      Why can Dany control dragons, when the other Targs lost the ability long ago? Is it the power of being a strong woman? Nope, she just has the recessive Targ dragon-controlling gene AND the Stark warging gene.

      @@jerrysstories711 So you believe in the fact that she was a strong/independent whaman who didn't need no man at the beginning of the story. Then out of nowhere she became Juliet and ran into the sunset with a strong and conservative male?
      You don't see ANYTHING wrong in this? Nothing?

      Robert might been knighted but he was no Knight. The man was a glottenous, Lustful, Wrathful big boy with a hammer. He was well known fornicator even after he was bethrothed to Lyanna. So no Robert is not Rhaegar minus the harp not to mention that Rhaegar was far better looking.
      While Rhaegar and Lyanna's actions led to certain events they themselves did not start the war because it could've been resoloved without a war, it was Aerys with no foresight that caused the war. Brandon did display hostile intentions towards Rhaegar but if Aerys wasnt mad he would've recognized the shit show that could unfold unless he handled it with care which we know he didnt.

      But when I think of Ashara I always think of a vibe like Monica Belucci or Megan Fox or Katie McGrath. A mature kind of sexy and not a cute kind of sexy, femme fatale, with dry humour and lots of attitude
