This was the exact comparison I was looking for… and maybe one of the best on the internet! Thanks!

Just curious, are you AvE inspired? Canadian machinists/fabricobblers/comedians are my favorite genre of RUclipsry! Cheers to ya looks like you have the toys, knowledge, skills, and humor to put together a hell of a channel if you so desired!

AvE is awesome, though it was actually the Dudley Toolwright channel that inspired me to start YouTubing.

You just saved me money. I have that Data Vac and wanted that M12 blower (I own over 10 M12 tools) but it's simply not powerful enough to be worth it. I'm going with the M18 blower.

I actually tried the M18 compact blower last year. Not bad, more air velocity than the M12, more flow than the DataVac, though the DataVac still beat it for pressure.

One thing you didn't test, which would have leaned in the favor of the milwaukee, is how quickly they can clear a surface of a certain depth of either metal chips, or wood shavings.

Not so sure about that usage. Clear surface fast, yes, make a mess, yes. In a shop the M12 would blow fine chips everywhere because of the higher volume of air. Best is a vacuum for cleaning and an air compressor that can target a focussed blast where you need it, and has the power to dislodge heavier chips or clogged recesses. The MetroVac actually comes close to an air compressor in a focused blast, but at the cost of being noisy and not being able to give quick little blasts. Shopping list: compressor. Milwaukee, ideal for blowing off sawdust from your power tools outdoors and other light duty leaf-blower type jobs. YMMV.
