Also a good demonstration of how well the cabin of your Tesla is sealed. Would be interested to see if the cabin can maintain that level of air quality when you are driving at freeway speeds. Pick yourself up a Wera 073230 1/4" bit driver and some stubby bits, great for removing hardware in tight spaces!

Good call, I’ll do a follow up video testing at highway speeds, when AQI is bad. Driving around town with the old filters, it held 16 AQI, but not really going over 40 MPH.
Oh wow, that looks like a much better tool for the job. Thank you! I was working with all the tools included in the kit, makes sense they wouldn’t include anything fancy.

What is the Tesla recommended replacement time frame for those filters?

Manual says - "Cabin air filter replacement every 2 years (or 3 years for HEPA and carbon filters, if equipped)."
But most people say they start to stink after a year or so. Depends on the environment I imagine. Mine certainly smelled a LOT better after replacing them. But hey, they were still efficient at purifying the air even as disgusting as the old ones were.

Agreed! See you all in 3 years for the next replacement and long term review of these filters!
