The folklore is about Hulder/Huldra, you can google it :) To put it simple, a water/forest supernatural woman that lures people away with beautiful singing and looks :)
Thank you Steff! Algorithm really messes with ya if you don't upload consistently and there was a period in the summer where I did few uploads. It's such a shame it doesn't get pumped out to all my subscribers but not gonna let it get me down, gonna keep uploading :)!! TY always for the watch Steff!
I laughed so hard I started tearing up at the last part with your poor tomates omg hahah bless you TJ! Did you end up washing them and eating them anyway? 😂😂😂
I don’t feel like talking much today, just want to watch your vlog with a good cup of Glühwein! Loved the views, sending you good vibes and a non-creepy-hug❤️
T cup...loved this video. You know...I consider myself a very happy person (especially when traveling) but i must say...you make me look like Scrooge...I just love your enthusiasm and level of happiness...its truly awesome. Couple of audibles here but thats what makes traveling interesting. We all take chances in life but wise call to steer away from potential danger...i really respect that. Loved the red dress idea.
You Girls are a good Team .... enjoy the rest of your adventures together .... and be safe .... you both reminded me of how big this world is and one can never see it all .... but one will certainly try in within a lifetime!!
:o !!! I did a roadtrip thourgh norway with my dad in october 2018. We went to Voringfossen ... I didn't even know we could hike, we went by car ? I cried when I saw the landscape. Norway was magical and I can't wait to go back in 2019 hihi.
Just subscribed to your channel and *loving all of your videos..* You girls did a brilliant job in this video.. It was so cold but you found the way to reach the waterfall 👍❤️❤️❤️
I love the fact that the hikeway has markings...... i wished exactly for that when we were in vegas in an area in red rock mountain park...we were somewhere in the canyon lost, trying to find a way up to the otherside...and i literally said... they need to have some kind of signes up😂😂😂 The waterfall was very pretty😄😄👍👍
CupofTJ yaaasss all canyons look awesome💜💜💜...the colors in red rock mountain park are beautiful, so vibrand ..its fun climbing around thos rocks...and ya, no markers....we had to go back up, didnt had time anymore to find the way up to the other side...we were going back and forth trying to find a way😂😂but south rim canyon near vegas... hm..expansiivvee...rather go to canyon national park.... next i wanna go to antelope canyon in az...where they have those narrow canyons with the beautiful red walls and red sand floors where u can see some sun rays peak in from above at the right time...😍😍 can only go there with tours. No self exploring..oh well.
Pretty much every hiking location, official park in the wild or pathways in the norwegian nature has signs with explanations or markings. Its maintained by various hiking organisations and official tourism office of Norway. Also, all across the norwegian mountains there usually are several lodges tourists can use for free to seek shelter in unforseen circumstances. They also provide food (canned) which one can use if needed.
11:16 Jupp, nailed the pronunciation of "Huldra". Great Norwegian, guys! Here's some info about the mythical creature she was talking about, if anyone is interested: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulder
The hiking guidelines are crazy. You take a path, it's the struggle of a life time, but you push through anyway. Finally, you made it. You come back, read the description, saying "Easy path. Suitable for 7 year olds."
11:10 The creature she asked if you were dressed like was a Hulder (in norwegian: Huldra) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulder It's bascially a siren that would dwell in the wilderness, but had a fondness for running water and would lead men and children astray with songs into the water and let them drown, being taken by the stream. Another version of them preferred cold dark mines where they would tend to a coal kiln. Coal miners would take a tale of a Hulder in their mines positively, as she would watch over them and their fire while they slept.
What the woman at the waterfall was talking about was a "hulder". According to Norwegian folklore, the hulder is a forest spirit that most often looks like a beautiful woman with golden hair and a cow's tail. In the tales they sometimes do seduce and lure away spellbound men.
lol, talking about difficulty standards being different in different countries, in Bavaria, hiking, climbing up mountains and walking ridges etc, with rucksacks, safety gear etc, its not uncommon to meet a German family of three generations complete with stroller (ok maybe I exaggerated that bit) out for a walk after lunch. Ad I am talking mountains, snow capped peaks etc, and they're just wandering along having a chat about last night's game. Too funny.
This comment is late, but if you or your redheaded friend read this, the Norwegian fairytale creature the woman was talking about was the hulder. Sometimes women will pretend to be a hulder and dance for tourists passing by, to put on a show. The lady may have thought your redheaded friend was one of them. :-)
It so refreshing watching you kids having so much fun... I'd love to have a film crew follow y'all around 24/7 to capture all those special moments you miss... LOL... Be blessed... BBE :)
"I'm vlogging till I'm 70." Well TJ... I'm watching till either I'm in the earth or you stop making them. Also... this is like 80% Gas Station hype lol. Also TJ you look like the Ice Age is about to hit in compairson to Kelsey xD.
Hiii yes! It is most locals speak English. Actually all we spoke to did! We did use a few Norwegian words like hello and thank you. They were REALLLY nice.
Heres the thing, Pascal - we all understand English very well. But some are not comfortable speaking it, because the sounds are very different, and it requires some practice, which not everyone has. For example, most Norwegians have problems with the "th" sound, and tends to pronounce it with a sharp "t". And all our vowels are spoken similar to French. Younger people generally speak English ok-ish, although many forget to drop their local dialect. Which gives you the famous Norwegian-Oslo and Swedish way of speaking English.
I don't think the term "waterspirit" would apply to Hulder as she is usually thought of as being connected to forests and mountains, a water spirit might be Nøkken.. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulder
Not hedora(woman with long blond hair and red dress), huldra😂. They are described as beautiful young women (usaly naked) with long hair and a cow tail that live in the mountains. They try to trick men into becoming their husbands and takes them in to the mountains to marry.
First time I've ever anokledged them baking in a gasstation, always thought it was normal. Now I'll be greatful for gass station emlpoyees baking their hearts out
not to be mean but failing to find the right path down to the waterflal was karma. At 03:02 you had the chanse ! But no oh no you did not buy a hotdog. You just looked at i and bought something sweet Insted. Oh before i forget nice video BTW. ( still no fotage of eating hotdogs thoe) Was that the same red dress as in your icelandic vlogs? And how come we diden't se you in a white dress in todays vlog or in the icelandic vlogs. ( they where god to)
Hahahah Torben you are so funny 😂 YOU ARE RIGHT It's because we got sweets instead!! Yes Kelsey has a red dress photo series :) my white dress was just one time for fun!
It all depends on when and where you decide to visit. The winters here usually gets pretty cold, but summertime is for the most part great with stable temperature and weather.
She thought you were HULDRA! Beautiful woman in the woods that is so beautiful she gets everyone who looks at her to follow her under ground and they are lost forever! 🌌.. 😉 Just a compliment!
At 6.20 you see the hike is in a red sign. This is what that means in Norway: www.fjordnorway.com/things-to-do/hiking/grading-safety-and-equipment Love your video's!

They only bake them at the gasstation, i work at a factory that makes them and sends them frozen to a lot of gaststions in norway.

The gas station hype is REAL! =P
Hi TJ!! Is it possible to travel around Norway/Scandinavia without knowing the language but English? Just curious 🙋♂️
Hiii yes! It is most locals speak English. Actually all we spoke to did! We did use a few Norwegian words like hello and thank you. They were REALLLY nice.
CupofTJ Oh Sweet!. Thnx.💃💃
We Norwegians start learning English as soon as we start school, and most are able to speak conversational English.
I guess you should google the waterspirit «HULDER»
I don't think the term "waterspirit" would apply to Hulder as she is usually thought of as being connected to forests and mountains, a water spirit might be Nøkken..
