  • With the introduction of smaller gloves in more and more Muay Thai promotions across the world, the sport is changing. As a result, the way fighters need to train has evolved as well.
    Here, world renowned Muay Thai coach to elite level fighters such as Jonathan Haggerty, Liam Nolan and Freddie Haggerty, Christian Knowles (alongside the equally brilliant Knowlesy Academy fighter Anthony Thomas) gives some insights as to one way he likes to cover distance with the aggressive body kick before looking to finish fight with high volume striking.
    This clip is one I stole from him when I was last down at his amazing gym!
    If you like this, then I know you are going to love his first ever full length instructional volume “Muay Thai Evolved - Fighting in Small Gloves”, which is available to download or stream now from the Warrior Marketplace!
    In it, he showcases his complete step by step approach to coaching a whole manner of amazing knowledge, drills and skills he personally likes to utilise with his stable of athletes.

    the elbow part seems like some proper bullshido shit
    cool for the pads but what exactly are you trying to hit when going 1:1?

      You mean the straight one or the reverse one? Cause the first one is pretty legit but the second one is bullshit since you can't even biomechanically load any significant force into it, not to mention that if he tried to do that combo on a person, he would totally miss the reverse elbow.

      @@arkhoss08reverse elbows if done correctly would still do its job which is to cause cuts. I wouldn’t use it often if at all if I’m honest but it doesn’t take much force to split someone’s head open with elbows if you land in the right spots. Anderson silva used a variation of the reverse elbow for one of his knockout wins it’s a legit technique but hard to pull off.

      @@pollen1253 ur not on the same page he's saying that if he did that combo to someone he wouldnt be able to hit the second elbow ever

      @@Thomateb2o the pads too far out sure but if you can land a sok tee you’re close enough to land the reverse.

    Is it better to be out of range and then switch into it, or start in kick rage and get progressively closer into clinch range for this technique?

      A person can always combine two different fighting styles like Wing Chun and Muay Thai into one!

      Ur right that reverse elbow is foolish but a spinning elbow like faking the take down then spinning around to hit the back of the head

      @Jujitard69420 6 месяцев назад +2

      Theres an elbow beforehand putting you behind or next to your opponent if done correctly with forward pressure opening up the reverse elbow to the side of the head brudda
