Thank you for all of your very helpful suggustions. Thanks for caring enough about others to want to help. That says alot about you my friend. Thank you for your time.
you are an excellent host, I say you are capable of much more hosting on a larger scale, this is a great start, maybe you can do videos on best places to sneak an eat on your travels (a sort of off the beaten path). seriously, you got the host gene.
I struggled a bit at first but discovered a BIG secret for Bus travel that "most" people miss! Buying ONE ticket from 'A' to 'B' is "very" expensive! BUT - by buying (on my phone app) a ticket to the next big city & then buy the 'next' ticket to the next big stop BEFORE arriving at that station & so on - "IS CHEAPER" then the "one" - 'A' to 'B' ticket that 96% of America buy!! Did that for a few days my first week or 2 but then took train from Chicago or East to West & plane when it was better afterward. BUT thank you for some of your helpers!
GREAT INFO..12,99 A DAY ENTERPRIZE WEEKENDS SEP TO DEC,JAN TO MAY EXCEPT SPRING BREAK.ASFOR A BUS THEIR WAS POKER TOURNMENTS GOING ON AND I COULDENT GET TO THE R R .
Hey Brad, your content has been a life saver as I’ve begun my Driveaway career. I work for Synergy, and they mentioned that many drivers have ways of finding their own backhauls, but they didn’t really go into specifics. Do you know any methods drivers use to find them? Synergy doesn’t really have many backhauls on their loadboard.
I guess they are a little too new to have back hauls. When I worked for Horizon, they had some back hauls. The loads weren't always close, but you could get to them cheaper or quicker than going home. One thing I would try is signing up with a 2nd company and using them for back hauls. I have heard of some drivers moving rental cars for rental companies, but I don't think there is a ton of work in that, but I could be wrong.
I just started working for an Elkhart transport co. last week and I do not have a tow vehicle. My question is if I fly to Ohare and take the blue line to I think Clinton station what do I take from there to get back to Elkhart.
Have you been to Gary, IN. While driving OTR I was partial to the TA on Burr Street, Exit 6 since many of the Drivers did not want to frequent that area due to high crime rate. I liked it could find parking even late at night cause of such. I wouldn't imagine many would be comfortable taking a subway there and have to transfer to a bus too. @@johnweiland9389
I'm looking to do this...i perfer to be on the road weeks at a time then go home to check on my folks then get back on the road...I wouldnt retire from this type of work
thanks for the info. which is the best Driver away company to drive for. I just applied with Team Drive-away. Ive have a cdl class B. been driving a str8 truck for 16 years but looking to do something different.
That is a hard one. I liked Horizon. I have not heard of Team Driveaway. I guess if you don't like the one you work for, ask other drivers you see on the road and ask around. I think if you try Horizon, you won't be disappointed. That being said, if you like Team, stay with them.
Your information is excellent .I've just retired and looking to get into the RV delivery business. Can you give me a couple of companies who hire drivers?
I absolutely love motorhome and travel trailers! I had one for years. But that was years ago, and I am really wanting to change my career at this point in my life. This is just what I need to be doing with my life!❤ I have a checkered past! How can I possibly get into this kind of work? Please help me!
as minimal as possible. Everyone had their own way. I used a big hiker's backpack and a medium roller suitcase. That was more than I wanted to carry, but I had a week's worth of clothes, laptop, and camera equipment. Keep in mind, I have not done driveaway for almost 3 years now.
If I am not driving a motorhome, but hauling a TT or 5th whl.with my own truck, are you able to have your spouse & dog along ...only in my own vehicle?
Is it worth getting a CDL? I saw where you worked for Horizon with CDL. Does it have to be a CDL A or is a CDL B still worthwhile? Thanks for your time and all your information.
The more companies you work for, the better your odds. Working for Horizon, I did well, because I had a CDL. At one point, I was out on the road for 3 months, going from trip to trip.
+kent ryun You don't wan't too big of a tow vehicle, a small pickup with a cap is about as big as you want to go. Some companies have restrictions on tow car size. But, you definitely want to get something that is relatively comfy to sleep in, as you may be in a situation where you need to sleep in it. Some people sleep in their tow car more than anything else.
I'm in Nashville Tn, I have a CDL B and been seriously thinking about doing this but i dont want to be gone weeks on end to make a good living, maybe a week or two. If I can bring home 4k a month I could live with that, is that possible??
Not going to make much money if you spend 2 days on a bus just to get back! Tow a 1/2 ton pick up truck with a trailer that can be towed on that trailer, that way when you get to the delivery, you can hook the trailer to your 1/2 ton pickup truck and book a Hotshot load or two going back!
Sounds like advice from someone who has limited experience within Tow Away Industry. May want to inquire as to acceptable Tow vehicles and weight limitations for the majority of these Companies before making such a recommendation.
I am not doing anything travel related at the moment. :( I was forced to go back into an old career. It makes good $$, but I am tied to a desk most days.
It depends on your definition of decent living. You can do fine, as long as you keep driving. Some people make $50,000 / yr, some don't. There is a learning curve that is a bit steep in the beginning. If you watch my Driveaway videos, that learning curve isn't too bad at all. You can do it full time, but you will want to work for at least 2 companies.
You make enough to buy a car. Some people buy brand new, some people buy a good used car. I personally wouldn't want to have a brand new car and car payment for a tow car.
Thank you for all of your very helpful suggustions. Thanks for caring enough about others to want to help. That says alot about you my friend. Thank you for your time.

seriously, you got the host gene.
Thanks. :) I think that it a great idea!
Your videos are great! Very smart and practical information, and you get to it with speed and efficiency. Well done.

Thanks for the information! I had never thought of buying bus tickets that way.
I've never been able to find a train ticket under $200. What am I doing wrong?
I know it sound easy but soon as I drop off I want to get and my tow car and gas pedal if im not tierd
I understand that
Thank you
I am from Nc so what is my best bet cause I don’t want to do otr been driving for 14 yrs cdl A

Great video this is how I plan to do this. I'm a current expediter but looking to do this instead.
Thanks so much
Was it one of the Gulf Islands in B.C.? Absolutely beautiful area.
Yes it was!
Thank you very much.
You are welcome!
thanks for the info, AGAIN.
Can i do driveway as a brand new CDL driver? Or do all/most driveway companies require 1-3yrs experience?

In L.A. I don’t care if it’s 5 or 30 miles.... everything is 2+ hours!
I just started working for an Elkhart transport co. last week and I do not have a tow vehicle. My question is if I fly to Ohare and take the blue line to I think Clinton station what do I take from there to get back to Elkhart.
You take the Blue Line to Clark / Lake, walk to Millennium Station. South Shore Originates there
Thanks...
It sounds like flying in to Chicago is the smartest plan for getting to Elkhart, thoughts?
The subway from Chicago goes to Gary. I don't know about Elkhart, but there is a greyhound stop.

Good job 👍😷🙏 thanks
Thank you
Great info AND you are an interesting host :-) Keep going!
Thanks! I appreciate those compliments. I will keep going, live stream tomorrow :)
You can buy a yearly Greyhound pass... Take indestructible luggage... Lol
Greyhound no longer sells yearly pass.

Ok I'm not with any of them now I work for a local company here in Ga. delivery driver home every day. class B Cdl
Team Driveaway handles CDL-A trucks, especially used truck deliveries from fleets to dealers.
I think the best way to win as a class b driver is to team up with another class b driver
Your information is excellent .I've just retired and looking to get into the RV delivery business. Can you give me a couple of companies who hire drivers?
Horizon Transport, Synergy Transport, Quality Driveaway
Are you still around? Been watching your videos and would like to contact you....thanks.
How do they compensate you? Is it negotiable if it’s a remote area?
I absolutely love motorhome and travel trailers! I had one for years. But that was years ago, and I am really wanting to change my career at this point in my life. This is just what I need to be doing with my life!❤ I have a checkered past! How can I possibly get into this kind of work? Please help me!
Just call the companies and see what they say.
How do you pack your for equipment? If you don't have a tow car?
as minimal as possible.
Yes, you can do whatever you want with YOUR truck. You still might want to ask (or not). Again, it is your truck, they really can't stop you.
Is it worth getting a CDL? I saw where you worked for Horizon with CDL. Does it have to be a CDL A or is a CDL B still worthwhile? Thanks for your time and all your information.
Definitely worth getting a CDL. B is fine, A is better. Get a Passenger Endorsement to drive buses.
How easy is it to find a job after drop off and not deadheading-returning home?
The more companies you work for, the better your odds. Working for Horizon, I did well, because I had a CDL. At one point, I was out on the road for 3 months, going from trip to trip.
Get a car (even mini cargo van) you could unroll your sleeping bag in?
+kent ryun You don't wan't too big of a tow vehicle, a small pickup with a cap is about as big as you want to go. Some companies have restrictions on tow car size. not working 2 weeks a month. You might gross that much if you are lucky, but after expenses, you won't be at that level.
Is there an age limitation
yes, each company is different. usually about the biggest you can go is a compact truck. Sometimes maybe not that big
Thanks for your prompt, actually what I meant was the driver's age. Do you have to be under a certain age to be a driver. TIA
usually 21 or over
Like 72?
Video malecho
Hey man what are you doing now 🤔 hit me up 😷👍 ✌️
I am not doing anything travel related at the moment. :( I was forced to go back into an old career. It makes good $$, but I am tied to a desk most days.

You can do much better as an Owner/Operator of a 26' box truck business and be home every night.
why don't you have a tow car?
+Robert Fiore, Ventriloquist? I haven't found one that I want, yet. I have been surviving just fine without one, so I am not in a big hurry.
so you carry the printer around.
Who ask that question you or the dummy, he might like to hitch hike back with a big butcher knife in his nap-sack like Chucky, Ha,ha,ha !!!
Save lots of $$$$ - Walk home😜
The fact that this job doesn't provide the ability to buy a car is very concerning. I'm just saying...
You make enough to buy a car. Some people buy brand new, some people buy a good used car. I personally wouldn't want to have a brand new car and car payment for a tow car.
