Not sure whats a bigger pet peeve on these Hondas the vacuum petcock or the auto bystarter. Still can’t get the Spree I have to crank right (after sitting long time) without applying negative pressure on the vacuum line which is a pain with the plastics on. Considering using a ‘T’ fitting on the vacuum line going through a one way check valve and then to a primer bulb on the side.
Almost never see Aero’s up for sale around here. Does the floorboard vibrate your brain like the Spree does?

What is that black box thing you were adjusting at the end?

Another great video as always, I’ve been working on cars and bikes for a long time. Just when you think you e seen it all this happens, I have a 79 Honda express and the kicker is that I have spark coming out of the boot but not the plug itself the reason I know is that I put a test light on the boot ant it lights up when turned over, but for some reason even with two new spark plugs I have nothing coming out of them. Any thoughts on that? I even tried the old mechanics trick of beating up the spark plug and nothing, I think I’ll let it sit for now due to not getting aggravated thanks in advance and ride safe.

Got to be a bad spark plug or not properly gaped. I’ve had the problem where the spark plug boot was not twisted tight enough onto the wire itself which causes no spark. hope you figure it out👍🏼

@@Mechanic_kid definitely I have spark to the boot I made sure that I put a test light on the boot and it worked but for some reason I have nothing on the plug. I’ll try gapping it and see what happens, thanks.

Hey man, quick question. My 1985 aero 50 sat for two years and I've been trying to get it to start. I followed your steps and I'm not getting my any luck. My scooter did similar to yours where if I spray carb cleaner it will start and run for maybe 10 secs then it will shut off. I can't get past there. Any suggestions?

definitely a carb issue. Clean it again super well and put on your stock air box. Hopefully you figure it out👍🏼

The stock air box is on, how should I go about cleaning it again so I don't mess up?

@@cmitch4255 Take it completely apart. remove all the jets. a lot of people forget to take out the emulsion tube-remove the jet in the middle and behind it is the tube that runs through the middle of the carb. Soak it in some Gunk carburetor cleaner for 30min. Pull it out and wash everything off with some hot hot water. Then use an air compressor to blow every passage out. If you don’t have a compressor, you can buy cans of air like what people use to clean their keyboards off. Hope this helps! Checkout my other scooter videos. Basically every video I do I clean the carburetors👍🏼
