In today's episode, I finally got one of my dream scooters! A 1986 Honda Aero 50. She needs a bit of work. Non running, rough around the edges, and just plain filthy, 50cc of gray! Let's bring her back to life and have some fun with this one!
That's the exact one and color I had in 86. I was in middle school. I asked for a dirt bike and got this scooter instead. The only thing is that mine didn't have a kick start. This was one up from the honda Spree and a step down from the Elite. Memories.
Hey man I'm about to purchase a stock 1985 aero 50 but it looks pretty beat up for 800 is it worth it?
If it has a title and runs, that's not bad. You can source plastics pretty easy. I actually have a set I'm selling

That's really tough. The Vermont loophole doesn't work anymore. So no title is an issue.

I actually bought one of these in that colorway brand new in '86. It was fun, but definitely not enough power.

Just got an 86 honda aero50cc curious what fuel i should run through her being all stock
I'm sure you can run just normal unleaded gas. ideally though, you would want ethanol free, but that's not always possible. I run 93 octane in mine.

You worship false idols claiming the AF05e engine is the best honda two stroke scooter. Bow to 94-01 Elite sr 50 and its far superior AF16 engine. all its aftermarket glory is just icing on the cake.
The af05 walked so the af16 could run. Also, did I forget to mention this is getting af16 swapped?

@@BrunerTuner I wish i had another one. Im 70% done with my sr 50 build just gotta toss on polini 24mm carb and naraku intake and swap out the gears. She rips to 50ish now, i really done want to buy disk brake set up though.
What else are you planning on doing with it?
Well I've got a spare 70cc kit on the shelf. I've also got 16x42 gears and some nice JDM goodies on the way. Next step on the build is a CVT overhaul. Gonna go for a zx pulley and polini varistor to keep it simple.
