Due to new hazing laws, most fraternities and sororities are restricted from engaging in activities that can be deemed as statutory and is left up to the universities that can be held responsible. New policies for bulling, harassment, and assaults, both consensual and non-consensual, will not be tolerated- -especially if it can lead to bodily harm and/or death. This include self-inflicted forms of hazing. It seems 'soft', but these kids don't need to die to be in a "brotherhood". If that's the case, do what I did....Join the frat called the U.S. Military. We trained for a purpose.

Some people question why black people should be apart of a fraternity or sorority organization; after Greek letters. However choosing to chew the meat and spit out the bone, my conclusion agrees with any sports team. You learn to work as a unit, one for all and all for one and if one of you is late for practice, we're all are late for practie. If one of you is late for a pledgee assignment we 're all late for a pledgeee assignment, so all are subjected to disciplinary actions. Everyone gets the paddle or runs laps, suicides etc. In a age of selfish thoughts and I'm gettin' mine mentality, this is more than necessary during this season. I appreciate my Greek letter brothers and sisters just don't abuse it. Use it to build a Better Community.

I came home from the army and went to a state university. In the dining area each fraternity had their own table and made a daily habit of humiliating their pledges. As time went on I was asked if I was interested in pledging. My answer was fast and simple: Hell No. Being an adult and a former soldier there was no way that I would humiliate myself as these young men are doing. It is a game for children
