- So thankful that God has allowed me and my husband to have this amazing testimony! For him denouncing Sigma and I Zeta it has given us a bond beyond words. It is definitely not taken for granted. Thank you for taking the time in watching and I pray that the Lord speaks to you as you listen to the revelations that God has given us.

I pledged Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity INC. Spr ‘07. I will never denounce my brotherhood. I respect that you wrestled with your issues and other logistics of life however don’t blame the shield. You battled just as we all do but you made the choice that was best for YOU. Don’t spread falsehoods about the organization. I could actually digg and shine a bright light on some key issues. As long as you’re in an earthly shell you and me both we will all be imperfect. Good luck with your walk and God bless.
It’s crazy how people get saved and become super holy and super spiritual and all of a sudden they get these prophetic revelations. I’m not perfect. I don’t claim to be. There was a point when I was preaching every Thursday and every Sunday HOWEVER I fell on my own when I lost my dad. I left the ministry and the church for my own selfish reasons. A frat who was younger but was also my big brother in ministry came down from his mountain experience to get me out of my valley experience. The frat has nothing to do with your personal shortcomings and now you want the to take the fall for the reason your reforming. You’re calling the frat a cult. During your sacred ritual didn’t they read a bible verse that told you “BEHOLD HOW GOOD AND PLEASANT IT IS TO DWELL TOGETHER IN UNITY”. This is so wrong but I CANNOT cast judgement and but I can say whoever’s or whatever church you joined to lead you to this, the doctrine that you are spreading, it sounds like a “CULT”

WILLIE FRANCIS what’s good MAB!!! This video was crazy for me to watch. I think people don’t know how to separate the two. She made mention of how once you get saved Christ becomes a part of you. That’s not true. Christ is apart of you once you leave the womb. The holy scripture says “if any man be in Christ he is a new creature OLD things have passed away!” The scripture is iterating that Christ is putting you on a spiritual assignment to give birth to your greatness. These two were meant for one another because the logic in this was ludicrous.

It’s not that people are taking it personally it that they’re trying to put things in people minds that aren’t true. I personally know a lot of god fearing people in Greek organizations. And the fact that they’re blaming Greek life for the things they did is wrong. They chose to make those choices and they need to be accountable for the actions that they made.
They have established soul ties to these organizations and they don't even recognize the idolatry they are in. A lot of these people have whole shrines to these organizations in their homes and see nothing wrong with it. I can guarantee you'll never see a shrine of Jesus in their homes though. I do want to say you might want to remove that zodiac sign from your name though because that's not of God either
Shar Jones ma’am. Just because they have a blue and white dove, or a pink and green ivy leaf in their house doesn’t make it a shrine. Yes some Greeks have pic of their undergrad or grad Greek like experience but it doesn’t make it a shrine. Y’all are literally in a box because I personally know people in NPHC Greek like and they are men/women of God. And the main thing that bothers me is they the blame the organization on what the did in their chapter. Their org didn’t make them drink, party or participate in other festivities. They chose to do that stuff.

No one made them join a Greek life org and no one made them do anything like I’ve mentioned before. If they are that weak minded to be a follower than that’s on them. I must admit that I only had the opportunity to watch the first 15-minutes of this video. With that said, I wish you the best on your journey towards having a better and positive relationship with God.
You know...I denounced for a season (5 years) as directed by God. My brothers of Sigma did not denounce me. They encouraged me to seek God and wished me well. They did not come against me. Your experience with God is your experience. If being Greek is not for you...so be it. To me, this is not a testimony, but an attempt to justify your decision. Spend more time focusing on your personal walk with the Lord and stop trying to shame people into thinking they are wrong to walk as they believe. Yall sound holier-than-thou and are not drawing people to Christ with this video. Focus on salvation of the lost. All Greeks are not damned for hell and if you believe that, you are not saved. People can be Greek and saved.
Joinging a fraternity or sorority is like joining a specific denomination...you think your way of worship is the best, but as long as we believe in Jesus and confess Him as Lord, we are saved. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God....if you have read this far...beware of people like these, they probably belong to a cultish church. I used to go to a church who hold these beliefs. Stay away, they will attempt to control your life. Don't let man control your thoughts...be led of God! Hypocrites. ..smh

@@briancoleman9077 Because God released me to rejoin. Prior to receiving Christ as Lord/Savior, I was everything Phi Beta Sigma...it came first in my life. That is why I was told to denounce. It was for good reason. It had become my idol. Once I became educated in scripture and formed a real relationship with God, I understood that my relationship with Him superseded everything else. I no longer idolize my fraternity. This renewed perspective and insight as it relates to my fraternity has shaped the way I interact with it, similar to the way I interact with any other organization I am involved in. God first, family second...work third....all else is prioritized as I see fit.
@@phibeta6ma I agree with you. My daughter just recently crossed and I discussed with her about all these things. I reminded her to be sure to ALWAYS keep God first. Her sorority is a social club that has become a sisterhood for her but she should never become dependent on it because God is the one in control as well as herself. I have witnessed people turn religion into an addiction. I have seen people leave one addiction and go to a new one (religion). Although I don't knock what a person chooses to do, we need to realize that religion has messed many things up for people too. We must be conscious of ourselves and our relationship with God and not allow ANY organization to control us. Thanks for telling us about your journey!

But that's the reason I chose not to go that route. This (greek) is only gonna be here on earth, and I chose not to sacrifice or tarnish my soul just for some earthly letters. I pledged Zeta on December 1, 1972 at a Black University and I came out in 1981 because I became a minister of the Gospel. I denounced because Jesus is the light of my life and my everything. I read the comment about the Sigma' founder being a bishop and I wondered what that bishop would think of all the profanity you use at your shows and what would that Sigma would think of you grabbing your crouch while performing on line. I was appalled when I saw and heard them. Whenever I go to my home town where the university is located former sorors want to get together and introduce me to the sorors at the University because everyone thinks that I did great things with the sorority, but I have to say no because "thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. I have been a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and pledged undergraduate. Hazing for my chapter stopped before I even arrived on campus and has not been a part of our pledge process. I attended a very prestigious institution and while other organizations did haze, we did not. As you may or may not know, all of the Divine 9 as part of the NPHC denounced and put processes in place to do the same. I’m sorry that you have felt that your experience has led you to believe that you did not feel that you can work for the organization and serve God. Good luck to you.
The hazing is to break down a person like in the military or a gang, but do the Divine 9 say prayers, sing hymns, worship and/or adore Greek gods and goddesses? If so, this is idolatry and pagan worship which the Most High God says to not put any idols before him or in His presence. This is the biggest problem. Then these orgs are called "Divine" which is only set apart for Jehovah. He does not share his glory.

My ex was phi beta sigma, and though I didn't pledge, he encouraged me to celebrate and sport the clothes he bought me representing this organization. We even had furniture in our home representing phi beta sigma. I felt convicted to renounce my compliance and participation supporting my ex in exalting and worshipping phi beta sigma. Jehovah God I renounce any participation, worship, and support I gave towards phi beta sigma. I pray also for complete deliverance for those deceived by this false god in Jesus Christ name!
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is bigger than any one person. You have to be true to yourself and I respect that, but there are far more people who find alignment with their spirituality and fraternity membership. Obviously it isn't the case for you, but I wish you the best and your bride. I have been a member for 20 years at this time and have seen great transformation for the better. Be well.

I’m a psychiatric provider and former AKA. I give free medical services to uninsured and underinsured grade school and college aged children. So yes, we are still service oriented.
Hello, I am not a member of any organization but my daughter is in one and there are some things that you have said that would've had me concerned as a mother. I expressed to my daughter that she should never allow an organization to control her life. It seems as if you allowed the greek life to control you. Refusing to wear certain colors? Failed classes? If I was your parent, I would've told you to fall back until you gain control. We all have to do what we need to do to be happy and if you are now truly happy, is all that matters. You seem to be a very passionate person in whatever you do so please make sure to remember that people can turn almost anything in to an addiction including organizations (Greek, Social, Religion, etc..) and that you must make sure you know yourself and maintain control over everything you do and not get caught up where you lose focus from the big picture. I wonder how Phi Beta Sigma Founder BISHOP Leonard F. Morse, would feel about your so-called revelation. BTW, every night do you thank God for creating Phi Beta Sigma and Zeta Phi Beta as a tool for bringing you together? In closing I pledged in 1991, and has been the Dean of over 20 intake processes. I have NEVER swung wood on anybody. Account for your own actions, and acknowledge that your actions with the organization are your own, and not everyone elses.
1. To reference another person as a source of validity to what God has personally shown someone shows lack of knowledge and wisdom. Bishop, pastor, minister,etc..none of which are perfect in choices and decisions.
2. Every night neither of us are thanking idolatry. We are thanking God. Bc whether these orgs existed or not, God still would have done what He did..which was bring us together.
3. Pledging is still pledging. Whether wood is involved or not. Thanks for sharing your experience but the entire point of this video was specific to the spiritual aspect of the ORGANIZATION. Not the pledging process in itself which is still a portion of it.

Good sir, i very much so took accountability for my own actions... but i didn't come up with the things i did, i merely made a choice to repeat what i was taught so those actions that "were my own" were also done by others before during and after me but you know this. Let's get real, if you see nothing wrong with the organization and it's practices thats your prerogative but you comment with a tone as if pledging/hazing and unlawful acts are rare in the organization which in actuality its the norm and extremely common. These are facts. If you don't agree with what's being said in the video why take the time to comment. it's not for you. I beseech you, either consider what's being said and adjust accordingly or simply continue on as you are. Don't waste your time on these videos trying to tell us how wrong WE are, it doesn't benefit you.

You signed a paper that stated you would not break the law and "pledge". You chose to disregard that and had experiences that led you to where you are. It's not for me to judge you, but context is important. Church is a structure very much like Sigma and NPHC. We no more idolize it as Sigma men than you Idolize your church and pastor. What you have found is personal, but I don't think your analysis of the org is valid.

I never heard anybody say what you said from that perspective but understand this some people grew up with fraternity and sorority members around them all their lives and the expectation is there it's like you're in line from the jump. I have caught brutal beatings and I mean wood that left Greek letters leg and back and all over my ass and this was just growing up in the household in the family of all omega's kappas and deltas. So After High School you go on to a university they expect you to see it all through I got saved when I was in high school and I was able to see the light I jumped out of the Catholic religion I was raised in did not rush any houses yet I had my own problems because I was a gang member and denouncing that is difficult and it doesn't change people's minds that have their opinions set but God got me through all of it. But I'm a faithful, frontline Christian and man of GOD 1st and foremost. I was saved before I pledged, and the two do not clash in my life. GOD, Wife, Family, and then my Frat. In that order; for me. Sorry that you had an unpleasant experience with your pledge process, interaction with the Fraternity, and dissension with your line, but you need to protect yourself so you can protect your family. I joined a multicultural sorority, while my brother is a Sigma. Just wondering, most Greek organizations encourage academic goals, does Sigma make you go 'inactive' if your grades drop (we have that stipulation, and you have to get grades up to even be listed on roster, etc.). I think you have to find the balance yourself, and with school/line/brother/sister help. The fact you can't participate in activities is a motivator to keep grades up. Also perhaps you could have been a driving Force to encourage the Erasure of secret hazing. So many universities make Greek orgs.attend seminars and denounce hazing so it is not favored. Also confused how you can't be part of an org and practice your faith...we had girls of different faiths, that don't drink, party, careers, ages, etc and you participate in what you like or is for you. But why can you not keep your social group as well as your spiritual group, which could be the same or have a few that believe in same as y'all?
So because you got hazed, and nobody got you, a grown man who got yourself into jail (It was just some tickets, nothing crazy), out of jail, you denounced your letters? It's very easy to say, white Jesus is the reason. You knew you were going to get hazed, the moment you got hazed, you should have dropped, saved your money and your time. You talk about them not being brothers to you, but then you turn around and leave them. Are you now that help to someone that you saught from the fraternity??? I need to get on here and say because white Jesus and get some followers...

As a 30 Year Christian, Catholic, Student of the Bible and Historial Scholar of the Original Hebrew Books that make up the Bible, I truly hope that your Christian Walk is with the New Testament and not the Old. Also, the Bible was interpreted by European and Spaniard Scholars who could not translate the entire Hewbrew language. I hate that you two have been mislead in your Christian Walk.
Christianity is the religion that teaches Love and Good Deed to all Mankind! The Stories of of the Bible are just that... Stories/Testimonials! These Stories were not of the original people who lived through that time. It was created 100+ years after their death. I agree, the Pledging/Hazing in Organizations should not happen. I also believe in the principles of each Organizations as they were created by Christian Men and Women. May the REAL God (which are the Good Spirits) she’s light on your darkened knowledge of your Christian Walk. Go to Israel, Egypt and Jerusalem (the Country) and learn from the Original.

God bless you and thank you for your obedience to the Holy Spirit. Many do not understand that until you come into the knowledge of the truth which is Christ the Messiah and Holy Spirit revealing and convicting you of what the Word of God saids, they will justify and make excuses of anything. Continue to seek first the Kingdom of God and all his righteousness and will continue to fall out of love with world and the beast system.

It's unfortunate that you feel this way. The history of the Divine 9 is powerful. As a matter of fact, the only way those brothers and sisters could have done the extraordinary things they did, particularly in the early days of their foundation, during systems of deep oppression against blacks, is by the help of God. Good morning Brother and Sister. I understand your position and respect both of you. I am a man of God and a Sigma man also. I can only say you have to do what works in your house. I can say that I am not active, I was in a situation before I returned to serving faithfully. I made Sigma my focus . It was all I was about. I learned that there was a lot of hurt on the other side of it. I realized that you can only serve one master. Now I love Sigma for what the founders intended it to be. I jest wish my experience had been different. Maybe it couldn't have been because God needed to get my attention. I have been preaching now roughly 11 years man and I get it. I can honestly say some of what you have felt I feel. Bless you for talking about your experience.

It sounds like you just had a bad experience when you were in undergrad, I think you should have joined a grad chapter after you graduated, there were a lot of things about undergrad life we all don’t like , and being beat or beating on someone else’s child for the sake of tradition is something we all wrestle with, and we had brothers that did not participate, and it was not forced once you were a member , but everyone in my chapter pledged, but it is way more to sigma then pledging , and if a chapter wants to stop all they got to do is not do it anymore , sigma is way more than just undergrad, lets be real , we all are immature and young sometimes that may be the cause of some of the stuff you went through , the chapters can be different but we are suppose to change it, and the eternal life thing in sigma ,( we know when you die none of that matters) is definitely a reach but ima respect how you feel, and also all chapters don’t pledge. I think people feel some type a way because we christians want to call everything we don’t like demonic., we should say secular instead that may help with y’all getting the point across, I personally feel like y’all let those organizations have such a major role in your life ahead of GOD, like how some people worship sports, music , family, schools . etc. More than they go to God or whatever their religion is. I think y’all took the organizations way farther than what it was meant to be, like some other people, but I wish y’all the best. I love my Creator, and I am a follower of Jesus, but I never was a super sigma to the point where I felt my organization was competing with my God , I knew my God( super Christian ) way before I became a Sigma , God bless y’all , hope one day y’all can rethink some things and you can use Sigma and Zeta as an avenue to bring these people that are not Christians but may be in your orgs to Christ . The founders did not mean for these orgs to be like the way they are that may ran you both away . Jesus went into places where the unholy were and taught people about Christ. That is what we are suppose to do as christians here on earth , but sometimes our views and attitudes can turn people away from God

Princeton Jackson I have a few questions. why do these organizations do things in secret? Why don’t they let people who want to join know what’s going to happen to them and what’s expected of them if they choose to join? Withholding information hence keeping secrets is a way these types of organizations keep “tabs” on their members aka blackmail. If what they have is so good and so influential and community based, why keep it to themselves? Jesus/God never withheld secrets to his people and told them everything of what could and would happen to you. See when you truly love and care for someone, you warn them and don’t put them in harms way. I’ve heard a ton of members of these organizations say they give it to the new pledges hard because someone gave it to them hard. In order to get rid of poison, you must kill it from the root. Peace.

bc it was tainted by some ppl who did entirely too much. Pledging was always meant to be a right of passage, a bonding experience and a way to let brothers work their way into fraternities. Most bros who pledge, wanna pledge. They don’t wanna just sign up bc they see value in the process. You learn a lot on line about whichever fraternity you join, about character and responsibility, and about yourself and your brothers. Also, you get to prove yourself to your brothers. I can sign up for a frat and say okay ima ride for y’all now that y’all are my brothers, but who would honestly wholeheartedly believe that? I got to prove it to my brothers over the course of some weeks. Pledging shows commitment to the brotherhood that you share w those guys. Now my LBs and I have a bond and love for each other that I wouldn’t trade. But that’s not bc of enduring abuse or some shit. It’s from the comradery of pursuing a common goal together as one.
The secretiveness is not of some unspeakable evil that will deter ppl from wanting to join, and for many it’s like a trust fall that brings everyone closer.

It’s funny, growing up in the church I was pushed towards these types of organizations. It was moving away from the church and religion that helped me gain clarity.

Process plays a portion but it's the organization as a whole. Pledging tho is part of the culture of the organization. In being part of whatever fraternity you are a representation of the organization and all that comes with it. Regardless of your personal initiation process, bc technically not all undergrads "pledge". But all in all it's wrong

Is everyone of God? Serious inquiry. Especially, with and amongst the whole "only one-hundred-and-forty-four thousand [will be anointed enough to make it to the special place with God and Jesus Christ]," what does that mean for how the rest of "us," or "them," should live their/our lives? Do our/their good deeds still count as the 'goodness of God,' within/from God's eyes? Is the good 'they' do, just as "right," as when 'good' is done by the Anointed ones?...
Also, I also wonder about all the bad that is done in the name of Jesus Christ and God, and how that can be so widely disregarded amongst the faith-based communities, all in the spirit of preserving the stereotype of 'helpfulness' that God/Jesus Christ are. Should these GLO's, even with THEIR stereotype of being 'good for people, but #still do some bad [when zero-ing in on some aspects],' should these orgs get the same breaks or be cut the same slack, as the -- organizings -- associated with, or OF, Jesus Christ/God?...But, chea.

Can someone tell me what having set means?
Set is when your line meets with the brothers. This can be at any time, sometimes at a moment's notice. Sets include intake of historical information, working through adverse situations with your line brothers, and yes can include some physical activity. We are talking about college kids, but as long as there are mature individuals involved, it usually doesn't go too far.
