WOW ! What an adventure ! Thank you for the video I am awaiting delivery of my new JL Rubicon. until I get mine, I will be watching your videos living vicariously through your JL adventures. GREAT VIDEOS, GREAT CINEMATOGRAPHY.
God damn, this was a great video, I miss the long format large group runs from previous years, glad to see Mel and EVO Manufacturing are still leading the pack on equipment for the Wrangler style Jeeps. See you guys out on the trial and keep up the great work you do. Thanks again, Eddie and Cindy.
Good to see you guys (wayalife) with new video's! The new JL's are impressive! Just got back from Moab, (the promised land), a couple weeks ago with our group (NorCal Jeepers) and watching all 4 of these segments is giving me PTMD. (post traumatic Moab disorder) ;-) Great scenery and wheeling combined! Keep up the great work! Maybe see you on the trail.
Again Awesome Video ... Was all Smiles to see this Pop Up.... Made for a Great Friday Night ! As I was watching I kept thinking about Your thoughts on the Turbo as a Off Road Engine.... I guess the last few Minutes said it all ! Time will tell how widely it is excepted. 😃
Yeah, if I buy a Wrangler (and I probably will) it will definitely be a JL. I've already got my options/pricing spreadsheet created. I'm going to Moab in October so my goal is to have one by then. :)
Wow Just watched all 4 vids !! Love that Code 1 LJ/JL :) Ive gotta say Im really impressed with the JL how well it performs with such a small lift and can actually fit 37"s in there no problems !! Might have to get one of these instead !! love the vids by the way :)
What a terrific video series! I just finished watching all four, and wow! LOVE the terrific production value. It also makes me want to get back out to Moab! I was there 2 weeks after EJS, we were there for 10 days of mountainbiking. On my last day I was planning on renting a JKR to hit the trails with, but a bad crash 2 days before the end of the trip foiled that. As I'm still recovering I have plenty of time to catch up on your videos. They make me want to get my ass back to Moab, as well as get a Jeep! Of course then I'll have to relocate out west, as there isn't much for wheeling in New England, where I live. Oh, and that stock Rubi was awesome! It's amazing what these are capable of off the showroom floor. I saw at the end in the credits that it has the Turbo 4, did the owner share his thoughts on it with you?
You sound just like the guy that travels all over europe on the cheap. Nice video journal. Gorgeous setting. I thought the rubi came with a cuttout in passenger door to see trail better. Thanks again.
Great video! I'd love to see you guys do a mild build on an old jeep (CJ5, flattie, ect) and take it to moab. It would be a whole different experience.
The EVO looks great. Cindy's driving style is smooth as silk. To see the stock JL in that environment is just incredible. Any comments on that 2.0l Turbo?
Duhhh, see how impatient some folks are? Ok, so you are pretty impressed about the acceleration. Would love to hear your feedback once out on the trail and how it behaves there when crawling and if the Turbo is smooth there. One downside clearly is that the Turbo requires 91 octane gas instead of the 87 like the V6.
Although I'm itchin' to upgrade my JLU Rubi, watching this video makes me wanna put it through it's paces while stock! (my wallet and wife just breathed a sigh of relief...😉)
The 2.0-liter turbo makes 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, versus the 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of the Pentastar V-6. Off road, which would yo choose now? On-road its probably the turbo, right?
I ain't gonna lie, as you can see in the very very end of the video, the 2.0L turbo rocked! If I were keeping it stock, it's definitely the way I'd go. What I really want to know is how it'd perform with 37's or bigger.
How is the road noise on the stt pro compared to ko2s? They look great and appear to handle well off-road, but I’m sure you had to travel a considerable amount of miles to get there.
It's almost a thousand miles each way for us to get there. The STT Pros are quite for an MT but you can definitely hear them more than an AT like the KO2. Much better off road though.
What air pressure are you running, @Wayalife? Watching this series, I can't help but wonder why you don't go lower. It seems the Evo folks are running a significantly lower pressure, judging by sidewall flex, etc. I say, if you've got the bead locks, how low can you go!
EVO was also running about an inch more lift and therefore had greater break over angles. Going lower on psi also LOWERS your Jeep and being that we were already an inch lower than them and suffering from reduced break over angles, we decided to keep our psi up a bit higher. IF we had problems getting up obstacles, we would have aired down more but we didn't so we left well enough alone. Just because you "can" go lower in psi doesn't always mean that you "should" or "need" to or at least, not in my opinion.
Wonderfull, as always! Would be nice if you could find some forrest or coastal trails worthy of your Jeeps! Maybe a nice, high mountain... ;-) The two of you should be more in front of the camera nsteas of behind it. You deserve it!
I just bought my 1st jk it's a 08 saraha some day I want to do Moab. I you was just starting with your current knowledge in what order would u do upgrades and what brands
I would start by determining what size tire you are wanting to run. Next, I would decide on a budget you can work with. Both will determine what you'll need.
If u have enough money for the 4 door would u get it? Or the 2 door ? Mostly do offroading in the desert & mountains. Not really alot of crazy rock crawling. Any JEEP experts? I' dont know anything about jeeps offroading but I plan on getting one.
Having owned both, I would get a 4-door especially if you have others that come with you and/or if you do any camping. The extra room to carry gear is nice to have and I have found a 4-door to out perform a 2-door.
even if I'm only going to drive in the desert and mountains? not really crazy trails. plus I'm single. I have the option ( money ) too buy a 4 door. should I? I see most of your videos have 4 door.
If your a single or a couple a 2 door make more sense ,it looks better , has better ground clearance ,maneuver better on and off road ,better steering , better fule consumption and better acceleration .
Would be an interesting video for newbs especially if you gave real world examples on the trail! One day I will own a Jeep. Wanted one since I was 17 and road in one for the first time. Now I’m 48... lol
The KMC XD231 is a racing beadlock wheel. They don't come with center caps. The member JeepFan over on www.JLWRANGLER.com has found a solution to this though.
Been wanting a Jeep forever! You great videos just reinforce the idea. Might wait until the 3.0 diesel though. That engine sounds exciting. What are your thoughts on it?
Jeep has been talking about a diesel for more years than I can remember. If it really does come out, I'm sure it'll be nice but it'll make this $50k Wrangler price out closer to $60k.
Yeah tell me about it. I think Jeep really has missed an opportunity here. If they do that diesel right I think it would sell like hot cakes to the enthusiast but he’ll what do I know? Lol... by the way just joined Your site! Username Tallcoolone. Have a great day!
Eddie I saw your vid on the oil change. How many miles did you have when you changed it? I got 4k on my jl and not sure was I supposed to change it after the first 1k like some blogs say to do with a new car.
Oh no i mean the pins that hold the tire carrier from opening up you know how you have the ones that come with it from Evo on Moby and Rubicat. The Black JKU has aftermarket ones and i didnt know if anyone on here knew what kinda they were and it be more clear its the pins that go into the Johnny Joint @ 11:40 is a very clear view of them
Sorry, these are like home movies for us. We make them in a way that helps us to remember how much fun we had on our trips. The music and their volume is a part of it and while we hope that others will enjoy our videos, that's not why we make them. We hope you continue to watch our videos anyway but if not, we'd completely understand.
👋🏽great video , I have the 2.0l also 3.5 inch lift with 35s , it’s in progress . Having problem trying to find an oil pan skid plate tho , anybody have a link not looking for a full underbody , if anybody can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it Thanks all and keep up the great videos 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you , it’s Frustrating trying to get my Jeep trail worthy, after two years in production of the 2.0l in the new JLs one would think one or the company’s out there would have put one on the market , makes $$$ since thank you for getting back so quickly
"Something so small as a new JL Wranger" (looks at price tag. .. Hey! thats not so small :( I now Live in Germany and you would be surprised how many people own JK's TJ's and various modified classics I even saw a JL last week. There is nowhere to wheel here. All mall crawlers.
I am always amazed at how beautiful your pictures are.the friendship that bind you are memories and not dreams. Live your life to the fullest. Aloha,
Thank you, we're flattered you would say as much :)
I really like how positive & encouraging you are with your instruction when spotting, confidence building at its best!
EVO paint job is the best I've ever seen!!!
PA Farmboy I think it's wrapped, but I agree, it looks incredible.
WOW ! What an adventure ! Thank you for the video I am awaiting delivery of my new JL Rubicon. until I get mine, I will be watching your videos living vicariously through your JL adventures. GREAT VIDEOS, GREAT CINEMATOGRAPHY.
Thank you, we're so glad that you enjoyed our video :)
Thanks for another great video. The bone stock JL Rubi is very impressive. You are really making us miss Moab. Happy wheeling.
Cindy killed it! Great job Cindy.
Awesome video! I was watching Part 1 - 3 while I was in Moab! Every 2 years I meet up with family out there and always have a blast.
Thank you. Glad to hear you get out there often.
Videos like this make me want to relocate. I love how that thing makes 37s look like 31s. Beautiful
Watched all 4 parts, really enjoyed it.
Glad to hear it :)
Stock grey rubicon kicking ass awesome guys!!!
A stock JL Rubicon really can do wonders at the hands of a good driver.
Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Love the videos! Can't stop cracking up at the end tho. The line of Jeeps it's a guy wheeling a m151 jeep truck with 106 rocilless gun! Love it!
Great gob again. Top of the World is my favorite trail.
Thank you :)
Great video. Enjoyed the narration; enough to not be annoying. Ready for my JLUR to be delivered!
LOL!! Glad to hear I wasn't annoying. :)
Great video of 4x4ing in Moab. It’s a great idea to show how a stock JL does in this environment.
It should be noted that the driver of the stock JL is a very good one. But yes, at the hands of a good driver, a stock JL can do a ton!
Good to see you guys (wayalife) with new video's! The new JL's are impressive! Just got back from Moab, (the promised land), a couple weeks ago with our group (NorCal Jeepers) and watching all 4 of these segments is giving me PTMD. I love your videos! Another excellent serie :) thanks for sharing it with us!
So glad to hear you enjoyed the series.
Y'alls wayalife is goals!
LOL!! Thanks :)
Great series! I cannot wait to go back next year!
Thank you.
Loved the stock, Great ending. Looked like fun!
Thanks! I hope you watched till the very very end :)
Great video. Nice to see what a stock Rubicon can do as I just purchased one. Not stock for long 👍🏽
Awesome!
A stock Rubicon is so worth the money. The little engine that could. Awesome!
Looks like a fairly large group y’all had there...great video as usual
It was a good run for sure :)
That's impressive what the stock JL can do.
It really is :)
Great video you guys Moab is definitely on my bucket list
Glad you liked it and Moab is definitely a must.
Awesome video!!! The quality is top notch!!
Thank you, we really appreciate it :)
Amazing video!!! Looking forward to taking our JL Sahara next year!!! Hope to see you on the trails👍
Glad you liked it and yes, it would be good to see you out there :)
Amazing video. I love it!!
Love the video, glad to see the 2.0L doing well in Moab.
Oh yeah, with it's semi-hybrid motor, it did awesome.
The video says it all. The 2.0L Turbo is a rocket.
Impressive camera work! I'm surprised you can pull off all of those shots with one chance without holding up the group. Keep it up!
LOL!! We either get the shot or we don't. None of it is planned or staged and that's the only reason why we don't have more footage to show. :)
Ah, memories... thanks for showing that a stock JL can do the Trifecta.
I enjoy your videos. I love my Grand Cherokee Trailhawk but you have me wanting a Wrangler.
LOL!! The JL Wrangler is a huge improvement over the JK, I think you'd like it.

Great series - thanks!
So glad to hear you enjoyed it.
Great trail
Oh yeah, good times for sure.

Oh, and that stock Rubi was awesome! It's amazing what these are capable of off the showroom floor. I saw at the end in the credits that it has the Turbo 4, did the owner share his thoughts on it with you?
The owner of the Turbo works for Jeep and he's the one who encouraged me to drive it... because he LOVES it so much.
You sound just like the guy that travels all over europe on the cheap. Nice video journal. Gorgeous setting. I thought the rubi came with a cuttout in passenger door to see trail better. Thanks again.
The doors you're thinking of were just prototype half doors.
Nice driving thanks
So glad you enjoyed it :)
I would love to have you guys come to Axialfest and join us for the week...
Your JL performed well out there! It's impressive how much improvement in off road capability a few mods can make.
You made it look easy! LOL
It doesn't take much on a JL to get it to perform.
The JL on 37s is 👌
Best part it, you don't have spend nearly as much to get there on the JL.
Great video! I'd love to see you guys do a mild build on an old jeep (CJ5, flattie, ect) and take it to moab. It would be a whole different experience.
The soft top on the stock Jeep is pretty sweet
Yes it is :)
Great video as usual Eddie! Waiting for the bolt on Coil overs from EVO, driving this JL around stock is making my taint itch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, glad you liked it and yes, so much want for the EVO coilovers :)
As always a great video look like you guys had a alsome time out there
Thank you, we're so glad you enjoyed it :)
The EVO looks great. Cindy's driving style is smooth as silk. To see the stock JL in that environment is just incredible. Any comments on that 2.0l Turbo?
Watch till the end of the video - past the credits :)
Nice to see the stock keeping up with you guys
If you're willing to give it and at the hands of a good driver, a stock JL can do a lot.
Although I'm itchin' to upgrade my JLU Rubi, watching this video makes me wanna put it through it's paces while stock!
(my wallet and wife just breathed a sigh of relief...😉)
Man, what a driver!
I can only assume you are referring to Scott and yes, he is.
That 2.0 torque 👍👍😎
Awesome video!!🤙🏽
Thank you :)
Cindy needs a trophy truck!
LOL - please don't be giving her any ideas :)
The 2.0-liter turbo makes 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, versus the 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of the Pentastar V-6. Off road, which would yo choose now? On-road its probably the turbo, right?

Hello from Australia. Loving this series from the new JL. But unfortunately won't see the new wrangler in Australia till 2019.😢 Having withdrawals!
Oh man, that's gotta be tough.
I wish FCA would tell us what’s up with the 2.0 turbos. There’s something going on with them not being built yet.
@12:42 I see that Tacoma in the group show that thing some love too.
LOL!! Tacos are cool but Jeep's are our thing.
Awesome!
Thank you :)
Thanks for info! Been riding on ko2 35s and thinking about changing to 37s. Love your videos!

Well, we did post up this video a few weeks back ruclips.net/video/KErm8mDEWIY/видео.html
We have one on the Rubicon coming as well. :)
Wayalife 35's is tires and between 5 to 10 k on budget I guess
Based on your tire size and budget, I personally would run something like EVO 3" Enforcer Kit.
As the heathen 100 Series owner watching...I'm curious about the Taco. Support Truck? Lost soul at EJS? Any footage...how did the IFS rig manage?
LOL!! They were the professional film crew covering the event. Tacos are cool and this one did great.
If u have enough money for the 4 door would u get it? Or the 2 door ? Mostly do offroading in the desert & mountains. Not really alot of crazy rock crawling. Any JEEP experts? I' dont know anything about jeeps offroading but I plan on getting one.

If it were me, I would still get a 4-door. They really are that much better on and off road even if you're single.
If your a single or a couple a 2 door make more sense ,it looks better , has better ground clearance ,maneuver better on and off road ,better steering , better fule consumption and better acceleration .
You should make a video how to use the lockers/4×4 for people who want in the jeep lifestyle
You mean aside from how to shift the lever and push the button? Like when to use them?
Wayalife yes like when to use 4 hi and 4low and lockers and the shifting would be nice to see
Would be an interesting video for newbs especially if you gave real world examples on the trail! One day I will own a Jeep. Wanted one since I was 17 and road in one for the first time. Now I’m 48... lol
Do the big tires cause a lot of rock chips? My stock 18 jkur throws rocks at my door handle pockets. 😪
Yes, they can. Most of the chips can be found on the door hinges and rear fenders.
Great video as always!! Quick question, is there a reason you don't have center caps on your wheels?
The KMC XD231 is a racing beadlock wheel. They don't come with center caps. The member JeepFan over on www.JLWRANGLER.com has found a solution to this though.
Been wanting a Jeep forever! You great videos just reinforce the idea. Might wait until the 3.0 diesel though. That engine sounds exciting. What are your thoughts on it?
Jeep has been talking about a diesel for more years than I can remember. If it really does come out, I'm sure it'll be nice but it'll make this $50k Wrangler price out closer to $60k.

Eddie I saw your vid on the oil change. How many miles did you have when you changed it? I got 4k on my jl and not sure was I supposed to change it after the first 1k like some blogs say to do with a new car.
Scroll through the screen on your dash to see what your oil life is. I changed mine at 3k and still had 46% life on the filter.
Thanks. I’m hoping to go to Moab this year. Are there easier routes for stock jeeps or is a lift a must?
As you can see in this video, a stock JL ran Triple Threat.
What is that thing y’all have inserted in your receiver hitch?
This is a newer and better version of it wayalife.com/store/proddetail.php?prod=PARTS-HITCH-STINGER
Any info on the black JK. That thing looks awesome!
He is jeffj on www.WAYALIFE.com. You can see info about his Jeep in his profile.
what type of pins were those on that black JKU EVO tire carrier ? i really need that setup
Pins? Do you mean the D-rings?
Oh no i mean the pins that hold the tire carrier from opening up you know how you have the ones that come with it from Evo on Moby and Rubicat. The Black JKU has aftermarket ones and i didnt know if anyone on here knew what kinda they were and it be more clear its the pins that go into the Johnny Joint @ 11:40 is a very clear view of them
May be next time take big wheels right.
How is the handling at at the speed she was traveling at the end of the video? Those big 37"
LOL!! It's great. You should see what we do with our JK with a 6.2L LS and 40's! :)
Well then I hope to see you on the trails some day. love all you guys doing the Jeep thing!
Hey what does JL stand for I cant find a JL at my local dealer
It's just the letter designation for the new 2018-up model Wrangler. It used to be the JK before.
@@wayalife thank you so much my friend love your videos . I'm trying to get into the movement .
So when are you taking the Jeeps to the moon & Mars?
Wish you'd lower the music so we can hear the actual vehicles.
Sorry, these are like home movies for us. We make them in a way that helps us to remember how much fun we had on our trips. The music and their volume is a part of it and while we hope that others will enjoy our videos, that's not why we make them. I have a question. Do you carry off road insurance?
Honestly, I didn't even know something like that exists.
really? lol I cant believe most people I ask say the same thing.
LOL!! The only insurance I have are the tools I carry and maybe a few spare parts.
Unfortunately, I think there are a lot of guys who are in the same boat as you. I'm pushing companies like EVO to hurry things up.
Thank you , it’s Frustrating trying to get my Jeep trail worthy, after two years in production of the 2.0l in the new JLs one would think one or the company’s out there would have put one on the market , makes $$$ since thank you for getting back so quickly
I hear ya. Not sure what the deal is.
"Something so small as a new JL Wranger" (looks at price tag. .. Hey! thats not so small :(
I now Live in Germany and you would be surprised how many people own JK's TJ's and various modified classics I even saw a JL last week. There is nowhere to wheel here. All mall crawlers.
LOL!! No, there's nothing small about the price tag and it's a bummer that things cost so much for you.
I did not see code 1
Check Part 2 of this series.
A stock Jeep can do ALL that?? Wow, makes me wonder why anyone would mod their Jeep at all??!! If stock can run Moab... thats more than enough
Not all Moab trails, just ones like this.
