From the exceptional camera work and production value, to the enjoyment and enthusiasm that carries through in the tone of the narration, your videos never disappoint! Thanks so much for giving us armchair offroaders the opportunity to live vicariously through your adventures! Bravo!
Thanks for letting us participate! I'll probably never get there but it's so much fun to virtually join you on your ride. It feels almost like being there by oneself! Thanks again!
Just got back from Moab, Top of the world view was amazing, sitting on the ledge with your legs hanging over the ledge, you have to be there to know how it feels, just amazing.
Excellent! That last shot is money, plus you said "jamming"! Great jobs guys. All that wheeling and then just drive it home, only in a Jeep! Thanks. :)
I really enjoy watching your videos and commentary. I am old but still love to take my 4WD pickup where my old structure feels embattled after a couple of hours or the fear of the limitations long wheel bases have. I am now a proud owner of my first Jeep and it’s a white JLU. Those bumpy trails are no longer bumpy, relatively speaking, and I am going further exploring with such more confidence. What an amazing machine, as you all know, that I am getting to know and love. Keep the great videos coming, please.
Another great video. Thanks. Behind the Rocks and Lochart Basin are on my bucket list. Top of the world was a great day of wheeling and the view.........WOW. Thanks again
Wayalife I have a question you might be able to answer.... Lets say that while way out there Behind the Rocks your new JL quit running, do you reckon that the Jeep Roadside Assistance would come tow it in?
badass! This summer I'm picking up my Jeep from storage (4+ years serving overseas) and driving across the country with a detour to Moab. Top of the World is on my bucket list, but I'll be solo. Your videos have been not only informational but very entertaining. New subscriber and fan!
great video, was up there this last week and made it to Top of the world. amazing view. but i am terrified of heights so i was not that close and no way in hell am i gonna sit on the ledge. way to go
Nice video ... I really enjoy watching your chanel about jeep ... i bought a 3.6 six-speed manual JL Rubicon Unlimited ... my first jeep ever .... any ideas for a beginner like me "please" .... where to start the changes ??? .... i live in Est Europe "Romania" so ...we have big mountains like the CARPATIAN MOUNTAINS ... I WANT TO DRIVE MY JL OUT THERE SOON AS POSIBLE .... tank you !!!
Great video Eddie. Brought back lots of fond memories of Moab before my JK turned into a WK. Thanks to you and Cindy for putting it up. What happens to Moby now?
Loved this video, along with all priors seen. Would love some more commentary on when rear or both diff locks are used/necessary in your trails . As our market (Australia) Rubicon JL's will according to one article not have diff locks, will not get the V6 3 litre turbo diesel, only the 2.2 450 NM 4 cylinder. And automatic only. My main concern being the diff locks and no manual option. I understand the new traction control to be good, as the Jeep engineers apparently did the Rubicon trail without engaging diff locks. I think my comment may apply to all overseas markets, not sure.
The traction control on the JL has been improved quite a bit and there's a lot more you can do with them. That being said, I do prefer having the option of using lockers and I have no doubts that companies like ARB will make some for the JL. I got a chance to drive the 2.0L Turbo and was surprised as hell at how much power and torque it has. It'd be what I would look at.
Are you running the stock D44 axles? Our fleet of JKs have had problems with tubes bending, as have many others. Any changes for the JL? I've lived in Moab for 18 years and appreciate your great videos.
Ran Top of the World on OCT 1... Be Aware it has gotten quite a bit more dug out over the summer. Its passable, but 35" tires are now a must, and are almost too small.
I am thinking of moving from a 2 seat RZR to a 2021-2022 4-dr Wrangler. What would you say is the minimum wrangler/tire/lift to handle Top of the World and Poison Spider? Thats probably where i would sit on a difficulty comfort scale. Is the Recon 35" tire package on the Rubicon worth it or would the 4k be better spent somewhere else? Are lockers needed on the rides i mentioned?
Moab has a other species of rattle snake. The Brown Faded Rattler. Reputed to be more venomous than a diamondback. I have seen one in Arches park. Same color as the rocks and dirt... VERY hard to spot!Another awesome video, btw. Thanks
I'm new to channel and the jeep life as I have recently gotten a 2012 jeep wrangler jk sahara 2 door. I have many plans for it and this give me many goals and inspiration for it. My question is on hummer hill, was you in manual mode the whole time or no? If so does it automatically shift when the rpms are to high or do you have to? I plan on one day getting a JL Rubicon but not for about 5 years or so. Plent enough time for all bugs to be worked out lol.
Eddie, I just tried to log in on JL journal but cant remember my password so I’ve been rewatching some of your videos trying to find the answer to my question.... Did you trim the factoru Rubi rails when you went to 37’s?
Man that view at the end is amazing. Where is this trail at again? I would love to take my wife and kids there once my project Yukon is finished up this upcoming year.
Epic! Planning on taking my New stock JK to Moab this year for family vacation. How many places can a stock JK make it? Seems like every one who jeeps, also lifts and puts bigger tires on em.
I’ve never been, so don’t know where it really is in relation to you guys, but have you ever tried to run a King of Hammers trail? Would be something cool to see
Performance wise, the JL Rubicon with the new 8-speed automatic feels like it has more power, has a better crawl ratio, has more flex and bone stock, the suspension feels way more comfortable even when running full street pressure. The JL also has a better turning radius and electric assisted steering that makes navigating through the rocks easier. The 4-door JL is about 2" longer than the JK though and this is both a benefit and a drawback.
We're so glad you enjoy the music we use. Unfortunately, they are tracks that we bought the rights to and they don't really have a name per se - more like just a description.
On the JL with the white fenders and shiny wheels, the load range on them is E. The black fenders and black wheels are D. The trail was easy so we only went down to about 18-20 psi.
Sure. For the good - bone stock, I was super surprised at how comfortable the ride was especially when driving fast off road. A HUGE improvement over the JK. For the bad - the engine cutting out on me when trying to climb a big obstacle surprised the hell out of me. Fortunately, making sure you're in manual mode prevents that from happening.
Just thinking, but that awkward stalling issue could be caused by the ECU still thinking it has 33’s and not being able to compensate for taller tires?
I think you might be onto something being that I don't ever recall this happening when we were running stock tires but we did have our speedometer calibrated at the dealership. Our computer knows what size tires we're running as it's been programmed into it.
I've heard that the front fenders hold dirt and debris in-between the top of the fenders and the body, and its difficult to remove. Have you had this issue?
Not just the fronts, the rears are worse. If you drive hard and fast through a sandy desert wash, your rear fenders will have a ton of small stones caught between the fender and body. It really sucks.
@Wayalife do you know of any tuners that may be out for the JL for re-calibrating the speedometer due to the tire size. Also how far off is your speedometer? I'm showing about 3-5mph under my correct speed on 35's.
I absolutely will. Did you notice any performance improvement? I can not find anywhere if it helps at all with performance or if it just for changing the tire size, gear ratios so on and so forth.
I've run a lot of different tuners over the years and if I'm really honest with myself, NONE have ever delivered anything real in terms of performance gains. In other words, they're a waste of money if that's what you're hoping for. The benefit of something like the Tazer JL is that it allows you to modify a host of things other than your speedometer such as your TPMS threshold, the ability to turn off traction control and auto start/stop, etc.
Not sure what there's to think about or at least, not as of yet. Was't super impressed with their JK stuff but maybe their JL stuff will be better. Time will tell.
What I can tell you is that I have over 3,000 miles on our JL, almost 2,000 of those were driving out to Moab and back and at speeds of 80 MPH (the speed limit out here) and can't say that I ever experienced any problems with my steering.
Awesome trail and great views. Just one question because I’m thinking about trying it, is it safe to run 37’s on DANA 44’s? This definitely a place I got visit. Always cool watching you guys.
The JL Wrangler no longer uses Dana 44's. They use an all new M210 and M220. With that said, it's simply too soon to know how well they'll hold up over the long run with 37's. Give me till the end of the year and I'll have a better idea.
Wayalife thanks for keeping this in mind for us all. I'm curious to see how they hold up. Decided recently to pick up a cj5. My only downside is now I don't see the point in a non-jeep. I smile just driving to work... Thinking I might be a two jeep guy when the 2019 models are in and the JL gets some review time. Your videos are a huge help.
Beautiful video, thank you for sharing once again! If you get an answer from jeep about that transmission issue please let us know in a future video ;)
I was gonna skip LP, but then one of the guys in our group mentioned that most of those trails were cut by guys in CJ5s, haha. gave me a little more confidence.
Everytime I watch your videos, I become more in awe of your Jeep and what you're doing. So awesome!
Thanks, we're so glad that you've been enjoying our videos :)
From the exceptional camera work and production value, to the enjoyment and enthusiasm that carries through in the tone of the narration, your videos never disappoint! Thanks so much for giving us armchair offroaders the opportunity to live vicariously through your adventures! Bravo!
We're truly flattered you would say as much, thank you.
Wow your videos make me crave a wrangler and I’ve never looked at them and make me regret all my debt 🥺😢
LOL - save up and get one for sure. You'd love it :)
What an exceptional video!
Thank you. We're so glad you liked it :)
I still wheel a 98 xj, i think i washed it in 99 but not since!!! Mud adds character!!!
My near stock JLU would be looking for the easy(easier) ways up and down - but - we’d still be having FUN,
These videos are amazing and absolutely motivating. Thanks for sharing a piece of your world with an aspiring future rubicon owner.
Awesome, thank you.
What a TRIP. You guys are awesome.....
Thanks for letting us participate! I'll probably never get there but it's so much fun to virtually join you on your ride. It feels almost like being there by oneself! Thanks again!
We're so glad to hear you say as much. Thank you.
Most excellent video, one of my favorites! Cindy, fantastic epic music on Lockhart Basin. Thanks for sharing.
We're so glad you enjoyed it and the music :)
All your videos inspire me so much! Thank you guys!
We're so glad to hear it 😊
Just got back from Moab, Top of the world view was amazing, sitting on the ledge with your legs hanging over the ledge, you have to be there to know how it feels, just amazing.
Awesome. Nice that you were able to experience it for yourself :)
Excellent! That last shot is money, plus you said "jamming"! Great jobs guys. All that wheeling and then just drive it home, only in a Jeep! Thanks. :)
LOL!! You know it. Wouldn't dream of trailering any of our Jeeps :)
I really enjoy watching your videos and commentary. Awesome and congrats to you on getting a new JLU :)
The Moab landscape always blows me away 🙌
It really is amazing out there.
Another great video. Thanks. Behind the Rocks and Lochart Basin are on my bucket list. Top of the world was a great day of wheeling and the view.........WOW. Thanks again
So glad you liked what you saw :)
Wayalife I have a question you might be able to answer.... Lets say that while way out there Behind the Rocks your new JL quit running, do you reckon that the Jeep Roadside Assistance would come tow it in?
Wow oh Wow, glorious awesome ending ☮︎
Thank you :)
Can't wait until we're there this month!!! Another great video👍
That last shot was desktop background material. Amazing video, as always.
Thank you :)
simply insane landscapes!!
badass! This summer I'm picking up my Jeep from storage (4+ years serving overseas) and driving across the country with a detour to Moab. Top of the World is on my bucket list, but I'll be solo. Your videos have been not only informational but very entertaining. New subscriber and fan!
Thank you for your service and glad to hear you're coming home. We hope you have an awesome trip across the country.
Such epic beauty there. What a great time.
Moab is definitely an amazing place :)
great video, was up there this last week and made it to Top of the world. amazing view. but i am terrified of heights so i was not that close and no way in hell am i gonna sit on the ledge. way to go
Glad you enjoyed it and happy to hear you got out there yourself :)
That was awesome! Loved it...
Thanks Tony! Always love hitting the trails with you and Steph :)
EPIC sound track
Thank you!! :)
Another stellar video! Bravo.
Thank you :)
You guys made that look easy in those JL's. LOL
Seriously, it seems you easily cruised up and down those step-stairs.
LOL!! It helps that we were in JL Wranglers running 37's.
Yet another AMAZING video, thank you ! :)
So glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
Love the videos hopefully one day I can get a Jeep and get out there
It definitely is something everyone should do at least once.
Simply awesome!!😍
Thank you :)
Nice video ... I really enjoy watching your chanel about jeep ... i bought a 3.6 six-speed manual JL Rubicon Unlimited ... my first jeep ever .... any ideas for a beginner like me "please" .... where to start the changes ??? .... i live in Est Europe "Romania" so ...we have big mountains like the CARPATIAN MOUNTAINS ... just love your videos
Thank you, we're so glad to hear it :)
awesome pic of the jeep at the edge of cliff, but I wouldn't sit on the edge hell to the no lol
LOL!! It is a rush :)
Another great video @wayoflife
Awesome video
Glad you enjoyed it
Fantastic set of videos guys, loved them! Yay Tessa dog again
LOL!! Oh yeah, gotta get Tessa some more screen time :)
As always a great video and your cooper tire work good i see STT one
Thank you and yes, they Cooper STT Pros work great in a place like Moab!
Awesome!!! But we’re waiting for Calamity Jane in these trails!!! 😉
LOL!! That would be fun :)
Clean up time awesome
Great video guys 👍
Thank you :)
nice video! very well done!
Thank you, we really appreciate it :)
Super !
Great video Eddie. Brought back lots of fond memories of Moab before my JK turned into a WK. Thanks to you and Cindy for putting it up. What happens to Moby now?
LOL!! There's no way we'd get rid of Moby. The JL is just so new, it's hard not to play with it for just a bit :)
Nice weather
It was nice. Typically, it can be a lot warmer especially when EJS is late in the spring.
Loved this video, along with all priors seen. Would love some more commentary on when rear or both diff locks are used/necessary in your trails . Love your vids.. great stuff!
Thank you :)
Loving the high quality videography. Well done. Also, dude, did you have the heebie jeebies on that ledge at the end? :)
LOL!! Well sure, that's part of the fun of doing it :)
LOL...been at that car wash a couple times in Moab. Another great video Eddie. Thanks for making em..BTW, what handheld radios are you using?
Thanks! And glad to know I'm not the only one who washes up in Moab :)
Honestly, you can do both of those trails in a stock Jeep. The Recon package with 35's will do them with ease. It really is all you need.
Wow what a view from the top of the world. I just wonder while filming do you see rattlesnakes. Being from Colorado I run into them once in a while.
In all the years I've been wheeling in Moab, I can't say that I've once seen a rattlesnake.
Moab has a other species of rattle snake. The Brown Faded Rattler. Reputed to be more venomous than a diamondback. I have seen one in Arches park. Same color as the rocks and dirt... VERY hard to spot!Another awesome video, btw. Thanks

Not the whole time, just on obstacles. When in manual mode, you do need to shift manually.
Eddie, I just tried to log in on JL journal but cant remember my password so I’ve been rewatching some of your videos trying to find the answer to my question.... Did you trim the factoru Rubi rails when you went to 37’s?
Nope, no need for it.
Thanks Eddie. I figured that was right but I remember having to trim on the JK some...
Man that view at the end is amazing. Where is this trail at again? I would love to take my wife and kids there once my project Yukon is finished up this upcoming year.
You're looking at "Top of the World".
Do you think lockers are a must for that kind of wheeling?
No. Not for what you see in this video.
Epic! Planning on taking my New stock JK to Moab this year for family vacation. How many places can a stock JK make it? Seems like every one who jeeps, also lifts and puts bigger tires on em.
There are a ton of trails you can run stock. For the harder trails, I would recommend that you just make sure to go with another Jeep.
I’ve never been, so don’t know where it really is in relation to you guys, but have you ever tried to run a King of Hammers trail? Would be something cool to see
They're down in Southern California and yes, we've run a number of them but not in our new JL. Most are extreme and damage is likely.
Wayalife That’s what I figured- all the coverage doesn’t actually show much of the trails, but they can’t be easy! Would need a cheaper rig
Did you end up doing Lockhart basin in 2 days? Is it possible to do it in one day?
We did it in one day.
Eddi, what do you mean by having to put it in manual to get over an obstacle?
Meaning that you shift the automatic transmission into manual mode. This way, you can leave it in 1st or 2nd as you climb your way up.
@@wayalife thank you so much!!!
Most notable performance and navigating differences between JL and JK??
Performance wise, the JL Rubicon with the new 8-speed automatic feels like it has more power, has a better crawl ratio, has more flex and bone stock, the suspension feels way more comfortable even when running full street pressure. The JL also has a better turning radius and electric assisted steering that makes navigating through the rocks easier. The 4-door JL is about 2" longer than the JK though and this is both a benefit and a drawback.
I really like the music you use in your videos especially the last one.. may I ask the name of the last song in this video?
We're so glad you enjoy the music we use. Unfortunately, they are tracks that we bought the rights to and they don't really have a name per se - more like just a description.
Wayalife OK then, fair enough. Keep making great videos.
What load range are those tires and what pressures where you running? Im looking at those or the new KM3's
On the JL with the white fenders and shiny wheels, the load range on them is E. The black fenders and black wheels are D. The trail was easy so we only went down to about 18-20 psi.
Great vid. Can I ask, is there anything that’s surprised you - good or bad, since you bought it? Steve

I think you might be onto something being that I don't ever recall this happening when we were running stock tires but we did have our speedometer calibrated at the dealership. Our computer knows what size tires we're running as it's been programmed into it.
Wayalife well then probably lies within the TCM tune itself. Especially if its operating fine in manual mode. Keep the videos coming!
It really sucks.
what size wheels do you recommend for those 37" 13.50 SST pros discoverers
and offset?
What you're seeing are 17x8.5 wheels with 4.75" of back spacing.
Stt pros looking better and better in every video. Better than the trail graps
Trail Grapplers are good tires but on the rocks, these Cooper STT Pros hook up much better.
How about a trip to south america's rain forest or perhaps so you don't get out of the U.S. how about Oregon and Washington forest trips? 😎✌
LOL! Be quite a drive just to get to South America. Here's some wheeling footage from Oregon and Washington: ruclips.net/video/nrxf5sDGxB0/видео.html
@Wayalife do you know of any tuners that may be out for the JL for re-calibrating the speedometer due to the tire size. Also how far off is your speedometer? I'm showing about 3-5mph under my correct speed on 35's.
Yup, calibrating speedometer and much much more: jlwrangler.com/showthread.php?1174-Please-Welcome-Z-Automotive-to-JLWRANGLER!
Awesome, thank you very much I will be giving them a call here shortly.
I'd be grateful if you could please let them know that you heard about them from me.
Nice 👌
Thank you :)
What do you guys think of the metal cloak 3.5 game changer lift kit for the JL?
Not sure what there's to think about or at least, not as of yet. Was't super impressed with their JK stuff but maybe their JL stuff will be better. Time will tell.
What do you recommend for a jk. What is not good about the metalcloak? I’m looking for a good lift for my 18’ jkur. All I get is sales pitch.
Nice video .. I heard that JL has steering issue over 65 ?! Is that True ?
What I can tell you is that I have over 3,000 miles on our JL, almost 2,000 of those were driving out to Moab and back and at speeds of 80 MPH (the speed limit out here) and can't say that I ever experienced any problems with my steering.
Wayalife
Nice .. thanks 👍
Where can I see Jet the JL current build and would you mind if I copy
The build keeps changing but you can kind of see it in it's current form here ruclips.net/video/Vabax6_tA3c/видео.html
Nice vid. Where did you get the hitch stinger or did you make it?
You can have a hitch shop make one for you for cheap.
What types of tires has the white jeep with black rims and what type of rims are those
37x12.50 Cooper STT Pros mounted on KMC XD231 beadlock wheels
Try as I might, I couldn't find the picture of the sideways Hummers.
Most likely because it happened before there was an internet.
That last pic, bitchin’.
Thank you :)
Do you guys plan on contacting FCA about the stalling?
We have friends at FCA and told them about it while we were in Moab.
Beautiful video, thank you for sharing once again! If you get an answer from jeep about that transmission issue please let us know in a future video ;)
What has been done armor wise?
Absolutely nothing. I think Rock Hard 4x4 just came out with some skids but nothing was available back when we filmed all this.
Is this a 2.5 inch lift??
Yes, an EVO 2.5" lift and 37" Cooper STT Pros. ruclips.net/video/woO2gzZ-2PU/видео.html
is Hummer steeper than Launch Pad?
I think so. At least, to get started anyway. Launch Pad it taller though so you're definitely looking at sky a lot longer. :)
LP was sketchy enough in my TJ, haha.
LOL!! We've seen TJ's and 2-door JK's really struggle on Hummer Hill. It's always scary to watch or at least, for me anyway.
I was gonna skip LP, but then one of the guys in our group mentioned that most of those trails were cut by guys in CJ5s, haha. gave me a little more confidence.
Saw the orange jeep for sale on Craigslist;)
What was your pitch on hummer hill??
Austen Knight
It was a rock guard. It inserts in the receiver and keeps the spare tire from getting ripped off.
