This is just the size I'm wanting Do you have bathroom n kitchen? I'm in Palo Alto I have this company on my list to contact . This was so encouraging getting nervous about the project

Yes, bathroom and kitchen. If you go their site you can view the walk through of the finished project. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. I'd be happy to discuss my experience. One thing worth calling out about the company I used is that we built this when they had the first complete shutdowns and they took the necessary steps as a business to resume building once the restrictions were lifted. Not all companies survived. I saw several housing projects switch builders during this time so I was very thankful and fortunate.

Beautiful Mike! Do you mind sharing how long the build took and about how much it cost per square feet?

Well, I can't speak highly enough about Acton ADU. The entire process took about 18 months but that was unusual. Mountain View is horribly slow and very picky when it comes to approving plans - even with the relaxed regulations. Maybe it's better now but not sure. It took 5 months just to get the plans approved. Crazy. Also, the project started just as we were going into full lockdown. I was concerned whether they would be able to re-emerge from the lockdown as I noticed a number of projects around my area were switching builders as a consequence of the lockdown. ActonADU took the necessary measures so they were able to re-emerge and resume the build process.
The actual build from ground breaking took only six months. They were a bit more expense than other builders but we compared their estimate and services provided against other builders and for us it was a clear choice. We encountered other builders that provided lower estimates but one could easily tell from their due diligence (or lack of) they were not a good choice. The end project was around $1K per sq foot which is quite costly but you need to factor in it contains a Kitchen and Bath in a much smaller space when compare to a standard single family home. Also, we outfitted the kitchen with Sub-Zero and Wolf products so that raised the price substantially.

Overall project was 349K. However, that included a non standard kitchen which was outfitted with a high end appliance package (SubZero and Wolf).

Thank you! Our landscaper at the time put the fence in and did a great job. The fence you seen in the video is about 2 years old at the time.

Do you just build or do you guys do the whole thing.. designs, permit and break ground?

You can contact the builder ActonADU.com directly but when I went through the process with them they took care of everything. Designs, Permits, Build. That was one of the things I liked about them. You only have to deal with them.
