She's amazing, both vocally and as a person. Around 2000 she had a dispute with her recording label and they wouldn't let her go until the contract was over, so she went and worked as a labourer for a fencing contractor until the record contract ran out. Not afraid to get her hands dirty and so very down to earth for someone with the voice of an Angel!
She basically didn't want songs written for her, as a "bigger vehicle to success." She tried one and it simply didn't feel right. Very much a punkesque attitude in the sense that "you get me or you get nothing."
I can't believe you haven't reacted to her live performance of 'Heros' from the Olympics! Nothing you have heard of hers before will prepare you for this! The ending is nothing short of hair raising! One of the most beautiful performances you'll ever hear!
Can't say I've been a lifelong fan of hers and to me the quality of the written material has comes and goes. But vocally I don't know I've heard anyone with a better voice who is as skilled at using it. She has seemingly unlimited range and power and is pitch perfect apparently with little to know effort. Just stunning.
You’re actually supposed to smile on a belt anyway, but it’s how relaxed the rest of her face is when she’s doing it that is astonishing. This is a well practiced vocalist.
SHINE is my fave Vanessa song. It's message was changed by Mark Holden recommending changing to the word SHINE from her original lyric of "die" Tho "die" is infinitely more accurate
My favourite performance of this song. Prefer this arrangement to the original. I don't know if you follow Vanessa on Instagram? but she's still touring Australia at the moment. Going to a lot of regional areas too. You're spot on about the ease in which she hits those notes. Incredible.
@@xDRAGONSTARx He has done a few so far... not sure about Tennesse whiskey but he did do Chris Sebastian's version earlier... (the one with Jesse Teinaki)
Venessa was featured on the US band Hoobastank song "The letter" With the male lead both of their voices are magic.. You need to really check this out.. The video clip is pretty good as well
Back when Vanessa was a teenager she sang at my cousins bar mitzvah and my sister and I begged her to sing Barbie Girl, and she did. In hindsight not the best use of her range haha
Hello. I enjoyed the Song and the explanation theory about choices you Make as an exceptional singer- how to build up to those creschendo-ing type of notes or sections within the Song. I would probably need to hear couple other songs by Her to appreciate the Vocal choices Vanessa makes. I don't think I'm out of my depth with comparison but if Know Caitlynne Curtis- that Woman also has an Incredible & almost effortless way of hitting some out of sight 🎶 & Also singing the Low sections too. If you have not already done it before I would suggest the Video Song combo from her RUclips channel, Therapy by Caitlynne Curtis!! THANKS
Vika Bull and Linda Bull come close in range. I know a few other singers who belt that well from Australia. 35 years ago it was Anne Hawker. Anne is still with us but is now in her 80s. She would do songs like "I got the music in me" and "Think (Aretha Franklin)" and just about any high belt number with confidence. Wendy Stapleton, Danielle Gaha, Venetta Fields, Tania Doko, Dannii Minogue, all had/have that skill.
@@ThatSingerReactions I didn't notice at first either, but I know his sound very well, and at some point I took a closer look because I recognised his guitar style. I used to work in a guitar shop when I was young and Irwin used to come in all the time and play. I even jammed with him a couple of times. Great memories. Very nice guy.
Big Man - yep, she's pretty hot and spicy. And props to the guitar player for keeping a basic arrangement tasty with some intelligent use of harmonics, whammy bar and linking riffs.
I was just going to say that hahaha... but I'll leave it to you now ! He missed it so maybe the person who requested will see your note and let Dominic know
Dude, I had to check out Gabriel Henrique after you mentioned him. Holy smokes, he is too much. I totally get what you're saying about him. Excellent singer etc but just can't sing *anything* without embellishments.

I'm going to a concert next Saturday: Icehouse, James Reyne, The Angels, Baby Animals and Vanessa Amorosi. Can't wait!
Oh now you're just teaming up with Stemulus to make me regret living on the 'other side' hahaha....thanks heaps Katie...

Same line up down at Jacobs Well on the Gold Coast in the next week or two. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
It's a crime how under rated she is in Australia. I've loved her since she started. She is amazing. Touring Australia now
I'm an Aussie, she is not under rated by me and never has been, this is the best version of this song.
I'm an Aussie too, I think she's amazing. Still under rated here for sure.
“The Queen of range” - 💯 Love that statement Nick 🙏❤️
Absolutely love Vanessa, as you said, she has an amazing vocal range, and she always amazes me when she sings.
She is the master..could you get any better. ❤ you Vanessa 🙌🙌
This is my favourite piece from an Australian vocal Queen! she is definitely the best of the best!

Venessa Amorosi is the best in every way! I love your passion for her incredible gift ❤️
I really enjoy your videos...you have such appreciation for singers and Vanessa is world class.

I’m so thrilled that you reviewed this performance. It’s wonderful.
Vanessa is amazing
Your reactions are brilliant
Vanessa still underrated sadly pretty much an independent artist these days .
at least she gets to do what she wants now, which makes it better
Vanessa is incredible 😍, went to her album launch at Memo Hall a few weeks ago. Talk about amazing 👏
Australia's greatest ever female vocalist , no one comes close !
Hail, hail Vannesa
My favourite performance of this song. Prefer this arrangement to the original.

I would love to see her sing with Stan Walker because they both have that range.
OOh now that would be epic !

And Jack Jones on Guitar, now he can sing!!!
You should hear the original studio arrangement - it's actually a rocker! This is a slow, 'balladised' version.
Awesomeness! and Vanessa was excellent too 😉🤣💖
love this version

She’ good listen to her single from the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening Absolutely Everybody!
This is a slow version of the original. The original is so good

sad she doesnt talk to her mother who she accuses of stealing her money, great voice but a lot of personal problems unfortunately, nice person
I prefer this song sung faster. I don't like this version as much.
