Leap Off Page 2022: This Is to Inform You about the Sightings of the Dot Trailer

"This Is to Inform You about the Sightings of the Dot" is a text-based performance by writer Sofie Verraest and dancer Tsveta Doycheva.
Leap Off Page is an international interdisciplinary festival that combines literature and contemporary dance. Dancers and writers from all over Europe come together to create a new hybrid art form, showcasing the idea that words can leap across borders and mediums. Participants are grouped into creative teams and tasked with creating a literary text that would "leap off" the page in the form of dance choreography.

Sofie Verraest is a writer and lecturer in literature, creative writing and urban and architectural theory at Ghent University and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent, Belgium. Fellow of the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation (2018) and of the Akademie Schloss Solitude (2020). She is one of the New Voices in International Writing in the 2019 Ninth Letter collection edited by Philip Graham. Her other writing has appeared in Fiction Writers Review, Green Mountains Review, Deus Ex Machina, and elsewhere. She curates and moderates multilingual literary events in Brussels.
Tsveta Doycheva is a freelance actress, movement artist and choreographer. She has participated in numerous local and international performances such as Corpus Meum (2018, selected for Antistatic 2020), Rebecca Margolik's Palace (2018), Las Flooras (2018) among others. She made her dance debut with the dance performance Hang in There (2020), while Phantasm was nominated for the Ikar Award in 2021. In the past year, she participated in Marion Darova's FREEFAL, which was the Bulgarian premiere at One Dance Week 2022, and created the HOD Movement Lab, a space for movement research.
The international interdisciplinary festival Leap Off Page is organized by the Elizabeth Kostova Foundation, with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, in partnership with TAM performance theater and Dragoshinov Winery.
