When your discography transcends genres that range from progressive and math rock to funk-fueled trap beats, crafting a guitar and pickup pair that can endure such a vast range of sonic possibilities is no small task. Then again, defying genre-based expectations as you reinvent them is kind of Polyphia’s bread and butter, and Scott LePage is the cornerstone of the band’s impressive oeuvre. Some say that tone is in the fingers, but the combination of his Ibanez signature KRYS10’s ebony fingerboard, ash body, and maple neck are brought to life by the voltaic, versatile voicing of his Fishman Fluence Signature Series pickup set. Don’t just take our word for it - Scott LePage stopped by Sweetwater to show off his digs. Check it out!

I JUST got this guitar and I almost cried playing it. All my other guitars are lower tuned and more catered to heavy stuff but I got this to cover pretty much everything else and before even putting on my preferred strings, and getting it set up the way I like, I was blown away by how it felt to play and the emotional response this elicited from me even just playing simple chords through a nice ambient tone. Ibanez killed this and Scottie’s taste really made this guitar feel unique and special.

Hey man! Is the high-gain voicing good enough for the chugga-chugga we love? Or should I forget about this guitar for really heavy chugging, e.g. drop B Slipknot, Carcass, Machine Head stuff? I like the versatility but I really need the chugging to be there as well.

I would say yes. With the overwound pickup setting you can flip to, it's absolutely there. I feel like I can play anything on this guitar. @@flprmn9448

Awesome guitar. Had one on order for over 6 months. But I switched my order to a Schecter C1 FR-S SLS Elite instead. Dont regret my decision one bit, its a badass guitar but man, I wish I could afford both.

i put these pickups on an AZ of my own. These pickups are NOT just for playing Polyphia or metal. they are insanely versatile and I am having a hard time not putting them on every guitar i have.

@@matthewmp111 I bought the Tim Henson one and I absolutely love it. The several clean tone options are very unique, and it does chug perfectly if you need. I did not love the guitar itself (poor QC... Ibanez let me down) but the pickups are fantastic.
