    I'm 47, I've been strumming guitars since I was 13. I've been on more stages than I can count, I have never heard anything like this.. . . . I just found these guys yesterday and I'm still getting my head around these phenomenal players. Wish these guys all the best.

      41 here, my friend sent me a link to GOAT a couple of weeks ago, I've been consuming all these guys have to offer since.
      Funny thing is I saw these guys, they opened up for btbam a couple of years ago, I just didn't pay much attention to them, and I'm kicking myself for it now.

With the, extremely fitting of the Covid times, song named, “Remain Indoors” off “P3 Select Difficultly” haha. That’s also what they named their video of making the P3 album. It’s a Beautiful song BTW, if you haven’t heard it yet lol. But anyway, this song also fuckin rips too, that’s for sure. And they seem like funny ass dudes. Reminds me of how my band mates and I are when we are all together hangin out or at practice, goofin off in between sets lol. Nice to see musicians with personalities. Funny personalities, at that. I enjoy when artists don’t take themselves too fuckin seriously. A breath of fresh air that’s for sure.

      bobcollum __ PLEASE learn some Polyphia songs. They've elevated my techical ability for guitar so much in the past couple months, it's insane. The Worst and 40oz are excellent for practicing their tapping stuff, and Goose is excellent hybrid picking practice

    • @diegoxintibia
      @diegoxintibia 4 года назад +11

      I agree with trickyy their songs seemed so outside of my skill level. But there are tutorials on RUclips that teach you only sections and riff. You play them insanely slow at first and it's really frustrating. But their riffs are so catchy and satisfying to play you just can't stop yourself from practicing. It took me like 3 months but I learnt a few of their riffs and I can play them decently. I still can't play a full song of them. But I feel really comfortable with my hybrid picking now and I'm subconsciously adding it to my regular play now. It gives me a different way to express notes and im loving it. I don't regret the hours and months I put into learning some polyphia riffs

    Cause some say
    This is it
    You could be anything anywhere
    But you would still have something to miss
    'Cause some say
    Look but don't touch
    So make sure that you've seen it
    And that you've seen it enough
    Can be interpreted in many ways but I think it's an awesome statement about just how shitty music fans and critics are about the actual people that make the music are. Never good enough, and no matter what they do will never actually be allowed to do what THEY want to do or be what THEY want to be. Polyphia is breaking out of that mould. Hard. I only realized it towards the end of that video but the 8 string Scott is playing has an S-type body. That's a dope idea as one of my issues with the extended string guitars is that they start to get quite heavy. However, my dream guitar would be an Ibanez AZ guitar with an S-shape body. I absolutely LOVE the neck profile of the AZ range but my favorite body type is the S because of lightweight and easy contours.
