Chris Latta's voice acting always made me feel sorry for CC and Starscream. "I'm stupid. I'm stupid." "Now I'll never rule the world. I hate this job."
@@jeremymcclary3901 Ohh really? That's funny and cool. I didn't know that, and I've voice acted before but I also admit I was wayy more into Transformers than GI Joe. Thanks for the info! Cobra Commander is my favorite G.I. Joe character. I love his movie incarnation. They gave him a fun origin story, kept the scheming likeness of the original, and I thought he looked cool in both movies, though I prefer the 2nd movie look because it looks more like his of self. But something else I really liked about him is that, well he's not physically powerful, like he's not an overly buff guy. I mean he's not a skinny twig, but he ain't no John Cena either. He doesn't rely on physical strength as some villains do, what makes people listen to, follow, and fear him, is his mind. And just his character in general, like in Retaliation, he causes mass death and destruction my destroying London, and it's not what he does do, as much as what he doesn't do that gets me as he did that. He didn't start yelling about a victory, he didn't let out a maniacal laugh. He just watched in silence. He simply didn't care. He just killed millions and he just does not care, it's all just another step in the plan. That's so cold, and I love it for a villain.
The very first origin story for Cobra Commander where he was just a car sales man who got big through the black market and small crimes till he was big enough to lead a terrorist group is probably his best one yet
To this day am still waiting for a first person or third person shooter from G.I. Joe in the style of COD or Gears Of War in which you could either play as Joe or Cobra member each character having their own distinct fighting style and looks you know all of the money they could make with dlc and selling character in bundles they could even introduce vehicles for specific missions but i know Hasbro would never allow it to happen i don't think they would like the violence even though the movies are pretty violent
I would say the absolute best version of Cobra Commander was from G.I. Joe: Resolute. Because that is the Cobra Commander I’m actually scared of. He actually kills his men if they have something to say he doesn’t want to hear.
Any version of Cobra Commander is better than what came from the movie. That version is much closer to the original from the Marvel Comics run, as he wasn't even above testing things on his own men.
Yep Cobra Commander. I always notice on the cartoon how his mask had a number of devices to keep you from taking it off his face. They're just might be some insecurity there.
Cobra Commander was created by Archie Goodwin, not Larry Hama. Ask Hama to draw Cobra Commander if you see him at a con, he'll flip out and get insulting at you. He acted like this with me. He's still pretty bitter he didn't get to write for the show.
LOVED him back in the day in the cartoon. Chris Latta's voice and his bumbling made him my favorite character in the franchise (Chris Latta also did "Starscream", Megatron's second in command who was always trying to betray and supplant him, in "The Transformers").
First showing of GI Joe: Real American Hero mini-series, the theme song said, "it's GI Joe against Cobra and Destro...", the running series said, "it's GI Joe against Cobra the enemy...". I wonder if that was because they had to label the toy packaging with "enemy"?
I don't believe most of these voices are actual people but a computer program reading this information because a computer only sees the word and I pronounces it how it is believed to be said versus it's correct pronunciation.
The cartoon Cobra Commander was a joke. Larry Hama is the best. He wrote Cobra Commander as being a a used car salesman whose life was made terrible by his own greed and lack of success. He started organizing people, much like Hitler, into believing there is a better life to live. His wife leaves him, with his son Billy, and faces another loss when his brother is in a car accident, due to his own drinking as a result of his own discharge from the military. The accident killed Snake Eyes' parents and twin sister the day Snake Eyes returned from the war. This cemented CC's hatred for Snake Eyes and led to the mistaken assassination of the Hard Master by Zartan, who was paid to kill Snake Eyes. Snake Eyes leaves the disbanded Arashikage dojo and a few years later is recruited for GI Joe. The Baroness eventually recruits a teenage Billy to kill CC, Billy having no idea CC is his father.
You have love when they don't listen to what they said. Weems known as Conrad (huh) destroyed the nukes!! The missiles were not NUKES and Weems is known as Ripcord.

Why is the DIC 1989 -91 version of Cobra Commander being ignored/skipped over in all of this? Yeah that cartoon series overall was kinda bad but the other versions of him brought up here were worse. Also they were the ones that revived him from his unfortunate fate of the original series
4:09 please tell me this guy is intentionally mispronouncing *_Serpentor_* to take a dig at those from hascon that kept mispronouncing it as well... 😖😣😞
It’s because the narrators on this channel aren’t actually fans of anything they cover. That’s why they mispronounce almost everything- they’ve never heard it out loud and have only seen it in their script.
Its a shame that Larry Hama never made Cobra Commander more credible- he was only a scammer and used car salesman in the Marvel Comics series; James Bond’s arch nemesis, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, founder/leader of SPECTRE was revealed by Ian Fleming to have degrees in Political Science, Economics, & Radio Electronics; making him a very credible opponent. In the cartoons, he was a joke with crazier schemes than Wile E. Coyote. And the movies have him in a rig from a Japanese sentai series. The best animated take on Cobra Commander was in G. I. Joe: Renegades; Comic wise, Marvel’s G. I. Joe #9 got him right. Ditto the way he’s presented in. DDP’s Cobra/G. I. Joe: Reborn and G. I. Joe Reloaded series (think G. I.
