Hi Katie! This was a great video. When I was little the teacher the teacher put me in one corner with my friend. She would hate us doing that. This was ❤the man ❤❤❤This was awful. I kept asking if had a shopping cart.
Katie you are such a blessing and I know this can help so many that are struggling and not sure what is going on. I truly believe that faith can be the biggest healing help in dealing with life and adversity. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us! Gods Bless my friend! 🙌🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰😘😍💖
@DoriesDollies Thank you so very much! Your comment makes me so happy! Very true! We are all in this together, and I believe sharing our stories can really help each other out. Thank you!
I wasn’t diagnosed autistic until I was 20 but I was born with other disabilities too. I am thankful that I grew up knowing about my arthritis and vision loss…I would feel betrayed if my parents kept something that big from me. I always knew I was different and I suspected I was on the autism spectrum before my diagnosis in 2008. My special interests include dolls too…I’ve always loved dolls, since I was a little girl…got into BJDs in 2006 and Smart Dolls in 2024. Thanks for sharing your story Katie and I look forward to seeing more!
@ReineDeLaSeine14 Hi, i'm glad to hear you got your diagnosis. I really believe they can be hopeful for so many reasons. I do not like that my mother kept my special needs a secret for most of my life, but I know she was doing it with my best intentions in mind. For me, after learning I was autistic it made things much easier, and i've heard many people having a similar experience. Thank you so very much for watching my videos! What kind dolls do you have now?
Thank you for sharing your story! Life can be difficult but you seem like you are working hard and thriving with the help of a fantastic support system. From one Georgia native to another…keep up the great work ❤🤗🥰
i have autism too! and making my videos is really hard for me. reason is i also suffer lisps so every time i make videos people tend to be so rude to me. after watching your channel for months now is giving me comfort and learn how to improve my videos and create an awesome doll channel.
@sirenix-doll Thank you so much! It makes me so incredibly happy that I was able to help you feel more comfortable making videos yourself. I think i've seen 1 or 2 of your shorts before. I'll have to go check your channel out. I'm sorry to hear that people have been rude to you, that's really not okay. I really hope you don't let it get to you down, and keep making your videos. Thank you so much for supporting my channel! 💖
Great story Katie!! I really related to the part about the intrusive thoughts, I have those from time to time too. So glad we became friends this year! 💓
Thank you so much for sharing your autism story, I relate to it a lot since I’m autistic myself. And since I’m also diagnosed with depression and anxiety I also deal with the intrusive thoughts. I’m so proud of what you have been able to achieve.
@@TessesKingdom Thank you so much! It seems a lot of people on the spectrum also suffer from intrusive thoughts. I wish you the best. Thank you so much for watching my videos and for all the support! 💖 I'm so glad we're friends!
@janinebowen7624 Great question! In many ways, special interest can be very beneficial for people with ASD. Through collecting dolls, dressing them, and creating stories for them, people work on their motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, social and emotional skills, as well as other skills. Dolls give me something exciting to think about and research as well as figure out ways to collect more with limited money and space (problem solving). Though doing things like dressing dolls I can work on my motor skills, as sometimes it's hard for me to fasten little buttons and stuff. And through creating stories with my dolls both for fun and social media I use and practice social and emotional skills through imagination when creating the stories. This is me, thinking about it in a future occupational therapist type of way as collecting and playing with dolls is a wonderful occupation where many skills can be developed and improved. Maybe I should make a full video about this!
Hey again, I forgot to mention what an occupation in occupational therapy is. Occupations are any activities that people have to do or want to do. And through using occupations, occupational therapists help clients overcome challenges. So doll collecting can be an occupation.
