Red Bull got so popular in German speaking countries because their advertising was actually unique and funny back in the 90s and early 2000s. Practically everyone today knows their slogan "Redbull verleiht Flügel" (Redbull gives you wings) because their ads had a unique cartoony artstyle and maintained it to this day. Those ads set them very clearly apart from every other standard ad you would see on TV back then.

Red Bull's success can be attributed to its extreme and unorthodox marketing strategies. They have sponsored daring and adventurous events, created associations with high energy and power, and targeted specific demographics, such as college students and bartenders. The brand focused on building a strong image and a sense of experience rather than just selling a product. Despite initial taste test failures and competition in the energy drink market, Red Bull's marketing efforts and storytelling approach have propelled it to become one of the best-marketed products ever.
    Thats great.

It'd be interesting to learn which sorts of people don't like the taste. What I mean is, people can be divided in roughly equal thirds--non-tasters, normal tasters, and super-tasters. Which category do those who like it fall into, and which don't. I like the flavor, and I'm a super-taster (which isn't always fun--cruciform vegetables have a compound that most people can't taste, but make them too bitter to eat for me).

The video I saw about Red Bull really got me thinking. It showed me that Red Bull is more about building a brand and creating experiences than just selling a drink. I realized that their success doesn't just come from the drink itself, but from their strong media and marketing strategies. They use extreme sports events, sponsorships, and media to attract people and create a lifestyle that others want to be a part of. It's impressive how they've changed the way we see a company, making the drink almost secondary to the brand. I now understand that their product is actually the content and experiences they provide, and people really want to be a part of that.

I thought about suggesting it.. But forgot about it -and just stumbled upon this rn O.o

I remember being in college and Red Bull giving out free cans. They were almost having to force it on people. To see what the brand has become is incredible.

I watched the “jump from space” on a Jet Blue flight from Washington Dulles to Boston Logan on my cellphone using the WiFi on the plane. I’m a techie and understand all of the elements delivering the stream; and, yet, I was thoroughly amazed…

You should make a video on Bang Energy drinks. They were everywhere outta no where and now they are barely on store shelves. I really liked their products and cosumed them very often. Really looked forward to every new flavor release. But it seems like Celsius has now taken over.

    3:53 - Maitai is a cocktail. It's Muai Thai (like "moo-ay")
And that visual is One Championship, which is MMA (although they do have some kickboxing, but that's not the same as Muai Thai).

I'd be interested to know what proportion of Red Bull is sold as a mixer and whether there's any official fiscal agreement with Smirnoff. It's worth noting that for less than the price of a single can, you can buy a pack of caffeine pills, which if used for preventing fatigue for working, gives 16 or more times the "doses" of caffeine that the single can did.

Yeah but Red Bull also contains taurine (hence the name) which is given to bulls to make them horny so they breed. Never noticed any such effects? It has an effect on the circulation.

Surprised you didn't mention one of their very early advertisements that not only introduced me to it but tens of thousands of gamers. It's inclusion in an early PlayStation game Wipeout. The tag "Red Bull: improve reaction time" had us all like, what is this fictional brand made up for this game?! Then when we actually saw it in a store, we were like well shit, not I have to at least try this. You could say they started their western advertisements with the foundation of serious gaming. Not quite esports yet, but certainly the foundation.
