This is one of the most realistic videos out there. There would be architects who make much more than 10Cr but it takes heck lot of years, contacts and dedication. It's an industry very comparatively the growth is very slow and quite honestly passion alone will take years to bring food to the table. You can only grow at a good pace if you have a family background in this or have good connections or if you fall in the 1% of truly gifted artists. If not, as long as you're in India, this will stay the ugly reality. I wish someone had shown me the reality of this field, I wouldn't have wasted 5 years of my life and Lacs over this. It's not discouraging, it's simply realistic.
I took horrible decision joining Architecture.... Now in my final sem just waiting to get this shit over.... Only option left is career change... Guys please don't join Architecture unless you are genuinely interested, rich and well to go family
For Hong Kong it’s reasonable too. But honestly in comparison to other professionals: lawyers, doctors, bankers, our salaries pale in comparison. Some senior architects in HK are making less than interns at law firms. It’s quite sickening the talents, education and determination required to be an architect or a landscape architect and have relatively low salaries. Law interns start at around 13,500 aus a month, actually ridiculous. On the plus side architects are always lovely to chat with, smart, passionate and generally very cultured people.

The problem is not Architecture, the problem is that Civil Engineering has become extremely broad. Today 99% civil engineering graduates can (sort of) do what an architect can do. Secondly, there is no "patents" on building design. Becoming an architect is like being an artists, a painter, a "kalakar". You have no scope unless you are rich, well connected with big companies, and live in a 1st world country where people are willing to pay good money for your "art".

Do you know how much it costs to take an a1 or a0 colour print? These all comes in the fee. The average fee in Kerala is around 10 lakhs, without including any of the above mentioned stationary, tech, unpaid internship and much more!!!
@@miamariajoseph7191 i didn't know that.
Online websites show that in my state architecture fees are 2-4 lakhs for 5 yrs. Although few others private collages charges 10 lakhs
I don't know if this figure is only tution fees or everything included.
I want to be a industrial designer, as there are only few industrial design collages in India, and absolutely no collages in my state, I was thinking of going to architecture as these two fields have some similarities.
And thought that architecture would be easy in pocket.
But looking at your comment, I am scared.
Could you please give me advice if should I do it or not, as architecture is not my passion rather industrial design is what I really want to do in future

As a BSC nursing student i can assure that BSC nursing field gives the double more than Architecture field. And if you're working as a Teacher of nursing at any Government or Central government college they will pay you more than 1 lkh per month. 😅

An architects salary depends on the person. The person can earn more than 10cr per annum or 2.4 lpa , it just depends on the person.

why? its design

Some professions like Psychology, Architect or any research related fields are only hight paying in developed country, there is no point in pursuing thess courses if you are gonna stay here as it wont pay you much and you wont be able to survive, better to get into engineering or mba instead where atleast youll get a decent pay
I worked in a design firm for few months, I’ve been paid 20k a month
My fuel expenses are about 25k so yeah - that’s architecture for you

There are many professional cricketers in india but very few represent for the country. Ranji players dont get that much amount of money but once they get into IPL they play in huge numbers.
Architecture is also a very good field but all depends on you how much passionate you are for the next 5-7 yrs after the course.

First know the meaning of Architecture. Everybody doing it without creativity thn u will earn very less. ARCHITECTURE = CREATIVITY. After completion of ur course initially u will get less salary but once u get creative thn u will earn more thn an software engineer.
true i know software engineer earning 50k aud
I think you have no idea about software engineers. In US google senior SDE salary comes around million dollars per year. And senior architects salary in USA, Won't reach 200$ per year even though they have 20 years experience. (Check-levels.fyi)
PPL want salary with out creativity pls don't join
U PPL r thinking about entry level salary .
But putting your creativity a side
Those who want salary u can go towards software
There lots of PPL earning infinity in architecture profession
But they did not think about salary
They made there dream fullfill.
ok but in top nits and spas, the average package for b arch is around 6-8 lpa no?
No. In this field where your graduated from doesn’t matter. All firms think you are useless. That’s why this low of a pay

It's normal to reassess your academic and career path, especially if you feel uncertain or unfulfilled. Before making any decisions, consider exploring why you feel this way and what aspects of architecture may be dissatisfying. Perhaps talking to a career counselor or researching alternative fields could clarify your next steps. Remember, it's never too late to pivot and pursue a path that aligns better with your interests and goals. Good luck with whatever decision you make! 📚🌟
