Honestly, how did he fall for that obvious of a catfish? I'm not even trying to be mean. He literally never met this girl and was talking about his girlfriend who refused to even Skype him. I'm not even trying to be mean but this dude fell for a catfish harder than any man I've ever known and only as bad as one older woman I knew once. And he was a star linebacker. I was a D3 linebacker (so about as impressive as playing in high school lol) and still had an easy time getting girls. What the hell was up with this dude that he wanted to be dating a girl who he never even met? Honestly I think he wanted to bang all the girls he could while having the emotional support of the catfish. And I think that's why he let himself get so easily deceived.
@@mr.doctorcaptain1124 To be fair it was the early days of social media and cat fishing wasn’t exactly known. That being said you hit it on the nail about being D3 and easily getting girls. Dude was at ND and couldn’t strike up any relationships with real women? Cmon.
I'm amazed how many people are supporting a college kid who was sharing a sob story about his dad girlfriend who he had never even met and who refused to ever video call him. There's being gullible and then there's being gullible. This dude was the latter.
@@Bmthighlights yeah u can tell that comment ia from a zoomer. Social media/online life was completely different 10 years ago all of us would have been just as bamboozled as he was
I was never a huge fan of his, but the documentary shed a new light (I’m also cognizant that he commissioned the documentary so positive spin to be expected). Regardless, he went through a lot and seems to have come out stronger. His ability to forgive at the end of the documentary was powerful - despite all the bullying he went through, psychological harm, monetary loss, etc. due to that guy’s deceit. Manti may have been naive and gullible, but I think he’s a decent dude. At the end of the day that still counts for something in life.
A good hearted person that believes in GOD & I see nothing funny about this but we all gotta see GOD someday picking on this man misfortune doesn't help. He didn't kno I can't blame him but picking on the heartbreak yeah I'm unsubscribing.
I feel so bad for Manti… imagine getting catfished that bad and that catfishing making you fall to the second round.
Live a simp, die a simp
feel bad for what? him being the ultimate sucker? his own fault
Second round ain't that bad in the nfl

It’s great to see people show support for Manti now. He will always carry this story with him over a dude that has a ManGina

He deserves a massive apology from.... EVERYONE. And she should be arrested for fraud and identity theft.... like either will ever happen.
His father claimed she would come to Hawaii to visit Manti in the off season. The documentary was really skewed
This is catfishing on a whole nother level. This is Truman Show levels of deception.
Catfish dude needs a beating.
There’s a documentary on Netflix, it’s good
My dude just did a recap of te’o documents on Netflix
This shit was none of our business. Manti got catfished and we still have bozos like this making fun of him

He made it our business by crying about it on ESPN?

Yeah this story blew my mind when it came out. They ripped him to shreds for being catfished, but he brought it on himself for telling the sob story.
