I've always wanted to pursue medicine but my self-doubt has driven me to pursue something else in university. After basically completing my first year, I've realized that I shouldn't pursue something that will leave me asking "what if" my whole life so luckily my current program is in health science so I've rerouted my path to, one day, become an OB/GYN and I owe it all to this channel! Thank you for all the information, tips, and tricks you are providing Dr. Jubbal!
I'm not even a medical student but this content has helped me study better for my highschool subjects and understand different subjects! Thank You Dr. Jubbal!!!!!
I love how you used First Principles Thinking by questioning the assumptions then came up with your more improved version. Thank you for the great advice. I apply your tips in my Legal studies and so far so good! Getting admitted to the bar this year...I'm definitely shouting you out as I get admitted.

Dr. Jubbal, I just wanted to thank you for all of your insights and study strategies.....even though my country's exams are very different from USMLE/MCAT your ideas have helped me crack through first year of med school.. Thanks a lot 😁
To this day, i still struggle to create proper questions for spaced repetition that actually work. It’s really frustrating, so, as you said, I end up reverting back to traditional methods
check out Bouras's or Miledown's premade anki decks for mcat. I've been using their format for my hardest upperdiv classes and it's working pretty well.
STORY TIME- went to college goofed off for 2 years. Had a hard reality check. Decided to change life. Took a gpa from 1.6 to a 2.87. Studying for the mcat started scoring from 495 now about a 507. Haven't taken the actual yet. I'm working hard maintining my family business and doing well in school. I've been following medschool insiders and can thank them for their info in helping me. Now I hope all is good when I start to apply. Any tips would be welcomed

Almost universally the tips 1) evidence based learning and 4) pursuit of efficiency takes place in todays med school classes nowadays. Out of 180 students in my class I would say that well over 80% use Anki and outside resources with under 20 students attending live lectures. The use of outside resources like boards and beyond, pathoma, and sketchy is well above 50% of our class. These resources save the time of watching lectures, while already having Anki cards made that will directly help you with the test you're studying for and STEP. While this is great and most all students are studying as efficiently and effectively as possible, this creates a hypercompetitive space even within a class that is pass/fail (aside from being ranked into tertials). Med students have picked these habits up to the nth degree in the past 2 years, and if you aren't using it you are almost looked down upon like a caveman. My advice to incoming med students and anyone applying is to learn these habits and learn them quickly, because if you don't your peers are.
Hi Doctor I hope you are having a great day, I want to tell you if it would be possible to make a episode of So you want to be Astronaut and physician. I would like to be a neurosurgeon or a flight surgeon to finally become an astronaut both ways or paths are awesome but but I'm no sure how can I get there, there's a physician and also astronaut who calls Robert Satcher he is one of my inspirations. I wish you peace and love by. ❤️
Hey MED SCHOOL INSIDERS I am starting my 1st year MBBS from India . Can you help me make a perfect plan for USMLE for imgs .Anyway thanks, your videos helped me to get a top medical college in my country.
Please make a video on value of Indian Mbbs in canada vs Usa and what extra things we hv to do when we (indians) go to Usa or Canada just after completing Indian mbbs
Most medical students with 2 herniated discs in their neck, carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands, painful meshes in their abdomen holding back congenital hernias, and bicipital tendonitis, a lonely, secretly religious life style (I shouldn't have kept it a secret), often facing racism because they are an immigrant in the southeastern US, a vicious and aggressive/dependent family, and an awakening childhood history of abuse have a bit of a harder time being stellar, but still some of them are superman. I should have been superman anyways. I should have been superman.
Could you do a video on *"So you want to be a Lawyer"* also if the owner of @Med School Insiders see's this could you tell me a different platform that you guys use where I could send suggestions on other jobs? Thanks
Yes, IB is high school academics. Med school is a graduate program after college, so there will be a bigger load of material to learn and more difficult.
Having just retired as a physician, I tell you that if you have an 8 foot ditch to jump over (metaphor for MS), you don’t have to jump 10 feet. You don’t need to be a gunner to get to be called ‘Doctor’. Have a life during training, or you’ll look back sadly at missing 10 years of your life, that you will never get back. If you don’t believe me, wait 30 years and remember what I just said.
i used to like ur videos but this one seems more like showing off ur achievements than showing anatomy of a successful med student. i'm not a hater but its an avg one with avg info
1.Spaced repetition
2.Active recall
3.Invest your break time, to do essential chores
4.Invest time in yourself
