- Three choices a person might have made in 1918. There were other good choices, not doubt, but these would have been viable choices and were likely some of the choices made by a number of citizens at the time.

Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.

It'd be hilarious, if you did an "armed in Australia" video, you'd have no guns on the table. Self defence is almost illegal here... You can get charged for fighting off a home invader and they get Asya with their crimes... Hell, if you even MENTION a gun in a self defence situation you can be charged for it. It's unjust and our government is keeping us from being able to defend ourselves... Means we're easier to control.
I'm hoping once this pandemic ends I can visit the US, maybe even live there one day, because I would feel much safer being allowed to defend myself.
I love Australia, but when it comes to self defence? The US is truly the best. 🇦🇺🇺🇸

I really like the "armed in specific-year" format. I had an excellent conversation once with a man that had been a police officer in California during the Manson family murders. Lots of people that could afford whatever they wanted were suddenly very interested in the best weapons they could get hold of. As some suggestions, I'd love to see 'armed in' 1969, 2000, and 1950 (or some other early-post war year).
@Chris_Wooden_Eye was that an actual decision he made prior?
Armed in 1969: A collection of Saturday night specials, a pump shotgun, and maybe a M1 Carbine.
How about a pit bull , a can of dog food and a flame thrower ?
@Chris_Wooden_Eye jay seabring was a blackbelt who was trained by bruce lee, tex watson killed him with a shot to one of his eyes, he was trying to protect sharon tate who was pregnant
That's a good idea
I'm really digging the "Armed In xxxx" template! Maybe you could do it by region too? "Armed in Occupied France in 1943" or "Armed in Colonial America in 1770" or something. Love the channel sir, keep up the good work!

This was a great video this morning. Brought back memories of staying at my grandpa's where he had a model 12 in the clothespress by the backdoor. He also had two 00 buckshot and a few shells with rock salt loaded in them, setting on the wall trim, ready to go. As a side thought, if you are hard up for a subject for one of your wonderful videos, how about covering some the private weapons we carried in Vietnam. There we so many different ones. My favorite was an old 1897 trench gun. That gun surely left it's mark on me, and even though it bit me a few times, it gave me a feeling of comfort. Thanks for the great videos.

In their books-Street Stoppers and Stopping Power, authors Sanow and Marshall state they had not intended to include the .32acp in their shooting findings but after taking a look at how effective it was there decided to include it due to it's efficiency in stopping the threat. In 1918 I wager most "Average Joe's" would've went with a Colt or S&W large frame double action revolver over the Colt 1903.

Fun fact during WWI rear echelon forces on the allied side, such as the French, used the winchester 1894.
The Germans also threatened to execute any soldier using it even though the Germans had flamethrowers

Where the hell is a Colt 1911??
I wondered myself. But...popularity is based on many factors, and the 1911 was relatively expensive, and not as concealable. I'm not sure how common .45 ACP was compared to .32 ACP. He didn't provide all of his criteria. 😁
Maybe because he referenced he was showing 1918 era firearms that were non-military.🤷♂️
