  • Hello everyone and welcome to my latest video.
On Friday 8th April 2022, I visited Woking station which located on South West Main Line & Start point of Portsmouth Direct Line.
Majority of service you will see is South Western Railway.
Well what can I say... Woking is absolute mad station to be at, with so many trains coming in and out every few minutes. And there's so much train traffic as this station is a fast line direct to and from Waterloo. And it doesn't give you much time to have a rest, you always on the go.
But it is fun to be at though, as there quite a mixed variety of train SWR train units, such as Desiro 450, 444, EMU 455 which will be soon to be withdrawn next month, & DMU 158 & 159.
This station has excellent facilities, quite a few cafe's & lifts.
    View not so bad.
Had enjoyable day at this station.
There is extra surprise bonus video which I'll will upload a bit later on, so that most people has had a chance to watch this video first, so do make sure you stick around for that.
If you like what you have seen at Woking, please give it a thumbs up and leave a comment, and subscribe to my channel if you wish.
See you soon in my short video.
    :)

Yes and also class 66 briefly stopping while on it’s way to Woking Yard. Just after I started my filming, I saw double or triple headed Class 73 which was headed down on the fast line to Waterloo. Which unfortunately it went past on Platform 1 while the other train was stationed on number 2, which was the Platform I was on. So I couldn’t see it approaching, only just saw when it past the train, which was too late for me to do anything. Really gutted.

Fine view of the semi-power box (pity: we couldn't open that, but as you know its a TOP's station and would be an expensive gantry for public access to the upper signal floor (a well as all the protracted usual arguments with TOP's, then mend the window and oust the pigeons)
Country-side to the right the gas turbine power S/stn chimneys can be discerned, the rhd 1/2 twin bridges, the cottage style S/stn & adjacent Raft is very clear. (Portsmouth line is unseen, and the old gas gen. site is well overground with only foundation)
Electrification: Don't forget the two weekends of September as is usual.

Hi, I'm curious about going down to Woking station to take some pictures off the back of this video, what are the rules about turning up with a camera? Do you need a ticket to get on to the platform? Thanks :)

You just need to ask permission from Station supervisor, as long you follow guidelines like stay well away from Platform edge and
don’t bring tripod then it should be fine.
