that is tremdous idea because most of freezing comes from below trap as frost comes up to meet steel thanks

Very cool idea. You got my wheels spinning too. I think I'd probably do a disposable anchor or drag over one stake. But still use the setup to hold trap. Now just to figure way to mount bigger traps. Thanks for sharing.

You could always weld a tab to a larger trap base.

Been using that concept on log sets also with a smaller stake inserted in a pre-drilled hole in the log

This is a great idea! I'm going to see if I can adapt this idea to a T bar stake for water trapping.

This idea is awesome. I'm thinking chain and drag, but I'm definitely trying this out.

Todd you continue to put out great content! Another great tip to make us all more efficient. Hopefully Hagerty sees this and thinks about making some for bigger traps. I’m sure the Hammer could come up with something too!

When I saw the title I thought of a different way to use the Hagz. How about this for cannines. Run your staking off wire out of sight of set which may be set in open visible to many. Anchor to a tree and with this clip on there, the caught cannine will run into the woods on the wire and the hagz clip will prevent him from going back in open toward trap which will keep him more out of sight to passers by. Kind of like a drowner set for beaver. Keeps him out of sight, and not messing up set area making for an easier reset. An idea I may try when needed.

Good idea. I use #3 soft catches. I see some testing ahead of me. Thanks for the video

Running that off a drag would be a great way for the coyote trapper.

Good point. The stake can be far shorter too if it’s only there to stabilize the trap.

I like the idea, but the stake has to be straight down or your trap will be on a lean. Great for fields and places you can drive the stake straight down. It is just to rocky where I trap. I can't get a cable stake to go in straight. I do like the idea. Thanks for sharing.
