A great Video thank you! As I watched this video I saw me and my 5 younger brother collecting potato bugs putting kerosene in the can and getting to set them on fire...that was our reward for picking them off! That eastern ks dirt farm was hard hard organic work..but we all survived and none of us were farmers but we all, I think had nice good gardens! lol thanks

Just read your write up in the Epoch Times. Awesome! I am from a Mennonite herritage also way back when. Just made our family Zwieback recipe to share. I am trying to do the same, be independent as much as possible on our 7200 sqft lot in southern California. Not sustainable here on such a small lot. Plan to move in the coming years, possibly with friends and family to help with the work. Awesome life story and thanks for being so succinct in describing the current cultural dilemma happening today!
I cannot get enough of your videos. All of your livestock are in great shape. I'm partial to your polled Herford. That's the breed my wife and I raised. They have such a good disposition and not much trouble to raise and care for. Our girls always threw beautiful calves.

I am new to your channel but have been binge watching it the past few days. I grew up canning but have learned so much from your videos. Also, so much appreciate your references to God, and just watched your Thanksgiving video. It brought tears to my eyes to see how much you appreciate your abundant (but hard working) life. Thank you for sharing your skills, knowledge and faith in God with the rest of us.
I have just recently found your videos and just so enjoy each one. So, I have been binge watching for a few weeks now and came across this one today. Your life and family are so inspiring to me. When I was growing up I always told my mom that I wanted to our in a farm or a ranch Hut she always discouraged me bc she said it was a lot if work bc she grew up on a small farm but she never told me the benefits of all the hard work. So, now I get much satisfaction watching how your farm works with the help a of all your beautiful children and husband.
Could you do a video on how you brew homemade root beer? Also, can you tell us what happened to the turkey babies? Why did they die? Do you have Wolves or Coyotes in your area, or do you hear them?
Thanks for sharing this video. I did not live on a farm but have always loved a garden and putting up as much food for fall. We are retired now but our oldest daughter cans and her dad goes out and helps, but the last two years she has slowed down. We had container tomatoes but they did not do very good this year but our hot peppers did great. We are picking the last of the peppers this coming week. I dry my peppers and put them in jars. I had about 10 different kind of hot peppers. I grounded up some peppers and I added no salt and the kind of seasonings I like to the hot peppers. It is good to rub on your meats before cooking them and to season our chili, sauces or what ever you like to put the seasoning on…I even sprinkle some on my buttered pop corn. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing. We are 85 and 87 years old and have slowed way down. The Bible is our guide for living on this earth. He is by our side always. Love you take good care of those precious children.
