I'm so shocked that cooking and baking isn't your thing because you are so good at it and you have an amazing philosophy of clean foods. I've been binge watching your videos tonight after just having one recommended to me. It shows me how selfless and loving you are to dedicate your valuable time to feeding your family so well.
My dear Ruthanne I don't know how I found your channel, but since I did I've been watching your videos from oldest to newest , I love your amazing garden and all your animals. They bring me a sense of calmness. . I live in Israel so perhaps you know that we are living through difficult days now and calmness helps. Anyway I wanted you to know that here in Israel, something that we all do, is have Friday family dinner. For us Friday evening is the beginning of the Sabbath. God bless you and your family and thank you for this lovely peak into your way of life.
@DianaBarshaw Please keep posting how things are in Israel and the effects in your world. (I'll check to see if you have a developed channel.) So nice to see you here and I look forward to finding your posts as I can. Wonderful to meet you.
Those boys! ;) glad you left in their rascal power plays! You are one of the hardest working women on youtube for sure & I can see how you are the anchor in your home. God blessed you for sure...and it seems you truly are the Proverbs 31 woman. ;)
You said you were washing windows and then, Oh, these baseboards look dusty...why are there fingerprints back here on the walls...might as well vacuum while I'm back here...if you vacuum you might as well mop the floor...The kids and I were laughing because "If you give a mom a washcloth..." The same thing happens over here.
you just encouraged me so much .. I'm also one that would rather be outside working in the garden or playing with the chickens. I've watched several of your videos (and learned a ton!) -- you are AMAZING with all that you do! you've given me so much hope that I will find a love for cooking, baking and preserving without losing my love for the outdoors. .. one last thing .. education is overrated! you may not have a degree, but you are very smart and a very good teacher! ❤
I am proud to say we have a meal like this every Sunday night at my Father and step Mother's house! He started it years (15 years ago maybe). As our families have grown the room around the table has gotten smaller but what a blessing it is to have your loved ones literally elbow to elbow to enjoy a meal. It really is like Thanksgiving once a week! It is, and always will be, one of my best memories of my life!
You look so young and your eyes are bright and happy. Bless you for your calm nature. You’re a good mama. I love watching your family it’s wonderful of you to invite little own ladies like me to love on you and your real family. ❤️ 🙏
@donnaryland2777 I was so surprised as well. I was thinking that even her daughter and Mitchell were old compared to how young Ruthann looks. It goes to show that the food you eat and an active lifestyle can make a massive difference. I wish I was born in the country and not the city.
The slow-mo shots of the kids goofing off had me laughing! And Harrison reminding me of the baby in my family - somehow able to get whatever they please 🤪😂
Your a wonderful wife and mother. And also if more families didn’t watch tv and play video games and have there noses on a phone all day, they would be blessed with children having a great work ethic and get along together in a harmonious way.
Two years ago, my husband and I purchased a home in PA that is multi-level and I have not been able to clean the outside of the top windows due to height. After watching you pull the top window in to clean the outside, I immediately checked ours and they do the same! I knew the bottom half did but had no idea about the top. THANK YOU!!!!!!! YOU made my day! Side note: I grew up in FL in a single level home where we could reach everything from the outside with a step ladder. :) This is my first time living and maintaining a multi-level home and keeping the outside is a bit more challenging with the height. :)
Such an enjoyable video! I love the family footage! The practical moments, the sounds of cooking, the piano playing, the conversations and just the family dynamics in general. The meal looked delicious!
Hadessa seems like she is a good kitchen helper. Does she enjoy cooking? Always nice to have a kitchen helper :) That pull apart bread looks absolutely delicious as does the entire meal!
I love those windows that open like yours. Mine would get cleaned if they would open, but I just keep the blinds closed. 😀😀 I love the way you have trained your kids to help you with chores. That’s what most kids need these days. I love your videos.
You’re so sweet and loving you would never know that cooking and baking are not your favorite things! You surprise me every day with your daily chores and your soft heart! God bless your family 🙏
There has been no video of yours that I didn't learn I am 83 years old and grew up on a small south Georgia farm with my parents and three brothers. Of course, my job was to help in the house, barn yard (cows, hogs , garden, and chickens as well as the yard. A lot of my jobs were very similar to how you and your children do. I loved life on the fa.rm and I enjoy walking through your videos with you. What an inspiration you are for me!
I so love how you have taught the kids to do what needs to be done, i came from a very large farm family. My brothers wouldnt of known where to find the glasses or cups or tea to put on the table...was just me and 7 men and mom who was always away working...does my heart good to see everyone doing their share inside and out!
I agree regarding my brothers and even my dad - and now my sons! But I'll take part of the blame. Everything had to be just right so I did it myself. Wish I would have had more patience to TEACH them even if it took time and time again.
Makes me very nostalgic. Grew up and raised my family in Iowa. I love family dinners. We still arable to have Family dinner on Sunday with 2 of my boys and their families. Love it and since my boys learned to cook from me we all contribute to the dinner
I wish you would do a sourdough stater and the process. You explain the steps you do at anything your making. So many people struggle with sourdough and it would be nice to refer your video to them. Have a blessed weekend!
I went down a rabbit hole (hydroponic potatoes, led me to storing potatoes, led me to your dry canning potatoes video, and now I'm here). I've decided that even though I'm a 50 year old woman living on my own (with my pup as my sidekick), I've decided I want you to adopt me. Or at least take me in for six months or so for a live in boot camp.
I'm in a similar situation I'm 45 and have two puppies living on my own and I could only dream of living like this because I'm too sick. It amazes and fascinates me everything she does. I only found her channel tonight and I've been binge watching ever since. 😊
I just love your videos so much. I’ve been binge watching them for the past 24 hrs. I wish I had at least 1/2 of your knowledge and organization skills. My husband and I agree that you are wonder woman!
Would really love for you to share the recipe for the pull apart cinnamon bread! Thank you to you and your lovely family for sharing your daily lives with us.
I’ve been watching your videos for weeks now. I really think you’re a wonderful woman who’s honest and brave for doing these for us. I know mean people are out there and I’m sorry. Please keep sharing. I really love your smile, bright eyes and working ethic as well as the enjoyment of your rest. May peace and blessings be yours this new year 🤗 I don’t like that people have called you un educated because you’re intelligent and smart. Always learning and teaching us all💜
I continue to be inspired by YOU! I have reconnected with all things cooking since my retirement as a teacher. Your videos inspire me to try new things and cook as much from scratch as possible. We have a small garden this year and hope to expand it next year. I planted carrots this year and some herbs which have been such a joy to harvest! Please keep filming your amazing journey.
I so enjoy your videos, I am 67 and was born and raised in West Virginia and your videos remind me of my childhood with my 6 other siblings. Thank you so much. My Father was a preacher and we always had a lot of people for dinner. My Mother was raised in Lancaster PA and her Mother was from Amish country and my Mom loved to cook , garden and canned everything she could find. Thank you again for letting me see into your family, may God bless and keep your family and home.
Everything looks so good! It’s nice to see that you all have a family dinner together every week, so many folks don’t do this very often like families did years ago.
@EunAe 은애 You know you are not a very nice woman, @EunAe………who do you think you are…a preacher? RuthAnn is a super nice woman, a fantastic cook, a wonderful mother and wife and a great teacher.
I have so loved every video you have made. You show making your butter, cheese, and yogurt, but I've never heard you mention churning buttermilk. That is one of my favorites, I have no cows and can't find anywhere I can get the real homemade stuff have to go with store bought and it just isn't the same. Churning was a favorite pastime I could sit and once I got my rythm going,it was really relaxing. And the butter was great also. Every once in a while someone gives me some fresh butter and good ole fresh eggs then I like to make a pound cake my grandmother made the best I ever ate, I haven't matched hers but it is still so good. When all the children were growing up they and their father could not wait until it came out of the oven. They wanted it right away and smeared with more butter to boot. Those cakes never had a chance to get cold. And the same thing always happened with my homemade yeast rolls.
Love that, "love tank", so special. We had a going away to college family night for my grandson. He love love loved the homemade hamburger buns. They all did but he especially appreciated that extra effort to see him off the last time until Thanksgiving. He's playing college baseball and living with 3 three teammates, ⚾😅. I'd love to be a fly on the wall the first couple weeks to see these freshman learning how to do all that apartment life entails. Thx for this video. I'm a bread maker again after 20 years away from it. I had a blast kneading the hamburger buns for 10 minutes. 🤷🏻♀
I always look forward to your videos! Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your life; helps me to visualize the type of home I want to create for my family. ♥️
Thank you so much for sharing your family dinner night with us. I'm 72 and when I was little and lived on my Gma and Gpa's farm, it was just like that. We got up early and we all had chores and 1 night a week, 'supper' was a special event. I've been thinking of those times a lot lately and feel very blessed to have grown up in that life. Again, thank you for sharing.....💖
I love your apron. You have a full and busy life and I appreciate how you share with us. Love how the children help out and your dinner looks so good. All the best!.
I just think your amazingly kind an unconditional love in all you do. The family is cohesive and help in some way. I feel like it’s the natural and right way for families to be. I just live your natural roll in everything. Although your energy seems limitless. I truly admire you.
I so miss family dinners. I've been thinking of doing it once a month to invite our parents and siblings during the winter months. So nice to see your family all eating together and to see the kids playing outside at the end. I've dreamt of living on a farm since childhood. I've had horses and we lease land and grow and bale hay to sell. I hope the kids realize how lucky they are.
I would LOVE to make the cinnamon pull-apart bread! ❤ Do you have a link to the printed recipe? I’m experimenting with sourdough starter discard as a newbie, and I’m sure my daughter would love this treat! TY Ruth Ann! I love watching and learning from your videos. 🙏🏼
Thay explains why I found Ttader Joe's butter to be tastier than other stores. I love Trader Joe's butter and it is cheaper! It begins with what the cow was eating. Such a remarkable diffetance.
I love those anderson type windows. So easy to clean. And I use Norwex products to clean. They are just the micro fiber cloths and water concept. I love family meals. I love to cook and bake, but my health issues have caused me to do less. And it’s so nice to have help cleaning up after. I love your dining room table. That bread looks so good.
I have less and less finger n hand strength And my shoulder is shot I can barely cope with cutting things Can’t wash my castiron or stoneware which is all I use; can barely lift them to serve out of The kitchen just makes me sad
Your supper looks so good. Thank you some new ideas. Would never have guessed you don't enjoy cooking and baking. You make it look so simple. Glad you also get to enjoy what you like best.
I always enjoy your videos, such a warm and loving heart. You mentioned you didn’t like to cook, I had to learn to love it, but I really do enjoy cleaning, very relaxing for me. GOD is GOOD! Blessings!
Loved this family dinner video. Such a great idea. Once a week and make it special. You sure had me fooled about not loving to cook or bake! You certainly do a great job! ❤
Until I moved to Canada from England I had never heard of a pastry cutter! We just use our fingers to rub the butter into the flour or nowadays use a food processor. If I’m making a small batch of pastry I still just use my fingers - the food processor may be quicker but it’s faster to wash hands afterwards than wash the food processor!
I love watching the boys interact. I had one boy who was the oldest of the boys that lived in the apartments on our farm, with 3 younger boys. They all still love each other to this day, though they live in many different areas now. They are now 35, 34, 31, and 28, and gather yearly when able. They consider themselves brothers, and would do anything for each other. Love is eternal, and seeing your wonderful, mischeivous boys warms my 73 year old heart.
Do you ever sit down? 😊 Girlfriend I love your energy! Your expertise outside and inside is amazing! What you’ve learned from your family growing up is worth Gold! Thank you for sharing! Love family Night 👏🥰
i always learn something new from you... We'd noticed that our spring butter was softer and easier to spread than our winter butter. It never occurred to me that it was because of the spring grass. I'd love the recipe for the cinnamon pull-apart bread!
Aren’t those tilt-in windows nice when it comes to cleaning them! I have them too. I really love your videos.. and the 3 little boys are such good helpers! Adorable. Your recipe’s look wonderful!
How nice your windons opens up like that to wash the outside windows. from inside.I never seem windons like that.thats wonderful. I really enjoy your videos.
Love your videos! Such a normal, beautiful family. I'm going to try your pull apart dessert, it looks wonderful.....in fact I'll probably try all your dishes! Thank you so much for blessing us with your family!
You show so much love for family and keeping your home full of love. I too also love being a wife, mom and nana. Staying home to care for them and make a home for was a blessing. After they were all in school I started college for nursing school. I was also help put them go to college without loans. Thank the Lord for that.❤️
I am astonished that you say that you really don't like to cook and bake, that it isn't your favorite thing. You have such amazing cooking and baking videos. ❤
I watch your videos and imagine what it would be like to have a family. I grew up in foster care and married later in life so after I climbed the corporate ladder and had no kid. I married a man who had grown boys so I didn’t get that joy. I lost him some time back to cancer and I’m alone again just me and my dog. It must be a wonderful life
Unsolicited advice, find a young family in church and start to love on them. Bring them treats etc and then invite over for dinner. I don't have elderly in my life, so I bring treats to some at church that don't have spouses, just letting them know someone see's them. Mentoring is so valuable and needed.
Bread looks so yummy! I have seen your recipe for poor man steak 🥩 looks awesome 👏 I want that too! I want brown gravy with this meat 🍖 ❤yummy yummy meal 🍽️
Would love the recipe for the pull apart bread. I love poor man's steak we do it with a mix of ground beef, egg and onions, garlic and onion powder and then fry and I also do a cream sauce with dried mushrooms that I have on hand. I find the dried mushrooms add so much more flavor.
There is a huge difference between store bought butter the color is amazing, with home made butter. I haven't had the pleasure of trying fresh butter, but can imagine the taste difference.
I stumbled on this site last fall and SO enjoy watching your day to day life! I love your farm, it’s so beautiful and your garden is amazing! Thank you for sharing your life with us! BUT…I can’t seem to find the recipe for your sour dough cinnamon pull apart bread …. Is it somewhere on your site? Thank you again!❤

I don’t have this problem at all
Just washing windows is all I need to get done lol

Yes. When I was editing I was shocked at how often the boys hit each other!! 🤣🤣
@@Ruthannzimm LOL spoken like a mom of many!

You sure had me fooled about not loving to cook or bake! You certainly do a great job! ❤
Love your kids. From Ontario. Canada
You have Norwex! I’m so glad. Makes cleaning so much easier!❤❤❤
So funny cause you seem to be always cooking or Canning or baking. Wonderful family meal !
Wow I like the way the windows open like that to clean what a good idea, we don’t get anything like that in the UK, outside windows are a ladder job.
I can’t believe you don’t enjoy baking and cooking- your meals are fantastic!!
I wish that more moms cared what their children wanted and would choose selflessness even sometimes
Kudos!
I just love your videos! I look forward to waching new ones, and even enjoy watching "reruns"!!! 😂❤
Looks delicious! I’d love to know more about the big cast iron pan that you used for the meat and gravy.
Just make any rich bread dough. Sprinkle with butter and cinnamon. She is showing you how to do it.
I LOVE all the LOVE!!!!!!! Praise GOD!
Love the windows, really love the trim around them. Wish I was there for the pull apart😊
Aren’t those tilt-in windows nice when it comes to cleaning them! I have them too. I really love your videos.. and the 3 little boys are such good helpers! Adorable. Your recipe’s look wonderful!
I left Instagram and you are my fav homesteader! So thankful for your videos!

Thank the Lord for that.❤️
Your AMAZING!! & yes GOD IS GOOD! I learn a lot from you & what wonderful memories for your family:)
I appreciate your patience in making these videos. I benefit so much from them and i know its probably a chore big time!, but thank you so much☺️
Really impressed with your windows and how they work. We have no windows here like that in NZ. Thumbs up . . . Thanking you . . . ❤💖❤
Hugs
Bread looks so yummy! I have seen your recipe for poor man steak 🥩 looks awesome 👏 I want that too! I want brown gravy with this meat 🍖 ❤yummy yummy meal 🍽️
Would love the recipe for the pull apart bread. I love poor man's steak we do it with a mix of ground beef, egg and onions, garlic and onion powder and then fry and I also do a cream sauce with dried mushrooms that I have on hand. I find the dried mushrooms add so much more flavor.
I'm so totally surprised that you don't like to cook and bake. You are so awesome and well organized for all you do.
You and your entire Family are so amazing!
Mama is tired and they are picky about the pull apart lol i get it !!! Loved seeing your family dinner… we love doing feast Friday’s in my home.
For someone that doesnt like cooking and baking sure does a good job at it and a good job teaching everyone how to cook and bake.
I love love love love you you are such a beautiful woman of God am I so much appreciate everything that you share with us
There is a huge difference between store bought butter the color is amazing, with home made butter. I haven't had the pleasure of trying fresh butter, but can imagine the taste difference.
Thank you for sharing the bread recipe and technique. Great idea.
Your children are so so cute to watch.
For cleaning we just always used vinegar and water with rag....that is sooooo cool to see the windows do that where u can do both sides in the house
Good to see you train your kids to help out. It is good for them.
Yes God is good , all the time.
I loved this video! I’d rather be doing other things than cooking too, I like the idea of making it special once a week ❤
Loved this. God bless your family.
