Proud First Nation here from Alberta. I watched this live. At no point did I think Pierre was rude in anyway. I thought it was refreshing to hear him speak compared to the PM’s fake tears and theatrical speeches. I was stunned to see how some of the main stream media’s headlines on how this was spun. I am sickened by the direction this country is going. It is time the Chiefs across Canada start to speak up against this mass immigration issue that is going to cripple the country we all know. I know I have expressed this to my elected Chief and Council. I appreciated Mr Polliever’s words today. I know talk is cheap but nothing could be worse than Justin Trudeaus leadership of this beautiful Country!

At that same time Harper/the conservatives were painted as the enemy… and here we are… with Pierre, who has opened the floodgates of aisle crossers! You need to read between the lines. He refers to the resources on their designated lands. The plan is to let them manage THOSE resources and profit from those instead of from the endless moneypot of other Canadian taxpayers. 1st Nations will "be rich" if they succeed on their own in managing those limited resources. He will allow them to sell energy, but only what is on their designated land.
As to the jobs for youth, he seems to refer to the jobs that European Canadian youth have (sadly) stopped taking and that are now going to temporary foreign workers.

It is hoped you will keep those promises, Mr. Poilieve. As A student of Canadian History, it is true that we would not have a country without our First Nations Peoples. I further recommend that the First Nations people be able to have a party with great representation created to represent them in the commons in the future of our country. I know "The First Peoples" will never allow a lousy government to have control again, as we all have experienced in the last Nine years. Who greeted foreigners and traded with what was truly valuable with people who valued money instead of skill. Aboriginals helped their neighbour survive winters and then were treated lower than slaves. It is about time they received the honour and respect they are due. Before any illegal immigrants are considered, we must find a way to equalize the power of First Nations.

When we erase history it’s going to happen again if we forget our past. The only history we should erase and band any Trudeau that wants to run in government and remove the whole Justin Trudeau story out of Canadian history which this would be the only history of Canada we should forget and forbid the mention of his name with facing prison time.

I've just never seen Poilievre this nervous (dry mouth, repeated swallowing) and dull in affect, just reading nervously off a sheet of paper. And then, of course, they took him down in questioning.
In spite of the resistance, he needs to push ahead with these plans to cap government handouts by putting a set amount of money into play and making 1st nations responsible for profits and consequences. Liberals are an open bank vault to 1st nations - we've bought the land of "Turtle Island" several times over with endless responses to endless requests for more and more compensation. He is nervous about the bedrock of what he's saying, here: you've got your resources, you can manage them, and there's no more Bank of the Taxpayers to pillage.

Investment will be the key here, but yes, it's a way better plan than what we see here in Canada. First Nations people in Canada should be able to determine their future, the government has never done a good job...

He made a great speech that focused on the economy and how to work with First Nations so that it benefits all. However, he showed how much work he needs to do to become more in touch with First Nations concerns that only someone who is entrenched with them will understand. I don’t claim to be aware of what they are. I do know things like murdered and missing indigenous women is a large one. He can’t take his standard ‘common sense’ plan and tweak it to indigenous community and expect it to fully land
