Same exact thing happened to me. I saw this KEXP CLoud Nothings series. First i was halfway into Psychic Trauma...didnt like it much. But then one day at work i decided to listen the whole video. I was blown away, immediately downloaded Here and Nowhere Else and Attack on Memory and those are the only albums i listened to for the next 3 months. Loved Psychic Trauma so much I played it live with my band!
love the guitar work, bass drives like the replacements 'sorry ma forgot to take out the trash', and the drummer is the most drummingist drummer that ever drummed.
Dylan, your music is incredible! The letter to your dad regarding college and his approval of your pursuing the innate desire that drives you was SO the right move as is obvious in what you and your band deliver. Words cannot express the love and gratitude I have for your creations!
These KEXP performances are among my favorite performances and mixes of this INCREDIBLE band. I would by this on vinyl in a second if they'd release it.
It may be an unpopular opinion, but I like them more now that they are a trio; maybe they just changed attitude but the music feels more straightforward and intense to me.
+Loser4l When they first became a trio, I'd thought I would miss the second guitar and Joe's harmonies tremendously. I had my doubts but shouldn't have. I know now never to be concerned as long as Baldi is at the wheel.
I live in Deep Ellum in Dallas, TX and I just discovered this band because I could hear it from a concert playing a block over from my apartment. haha (Untapped Music Fest)
I miss Dylan with short hair, but otherwise I love these guys! One if my favorite up and coming bands. Saw them at a smaller venue in Lincoln, NE in July.
1. Thanks for the reupload! 2. They are playing the ASS off these tunes. They sound waaay heavier done with this much intensity. 3. That drummer is BEAST. 4. Dylan, honey, you need a good hair cut and some product for that beard. 5. Seriously, go see barber. p.s. Barber.
Yes! Cloud Nothings is amazing. My top band of 2014. Check out PUP if you like these guys. I just found out PUP and Cloud Nothings are playing in one festival so there goes my dream concert
Peavey T-40 bass! Best bass ever made, even if the mix here is a little muddy. For all I know, I sold this dude that bass. I miss it, even if there's no reason for me to own a bass.
No vocal effects obv, but as for guitar: I think his normal distortion would be a tubescreamer or something like that. And for that high intensity fuzz perhaps a Pi or any good Fuzz pedal. Cleans i bet he just uses the amp. Oh yes and a compressor. You can see that he has to use a compressor pedal because he would just be way to loud (look at his fucking strumming! So intense!) if he didnt.
theArchive1O for the bridge in Now Hear In wheres the weird modulated reverb sound I think he's using a Mr. Black Supermoon pedal. Saw him using it when isaw them live a few months ago
rob1996ization Belle Epoch echo, Iron Horse Distortion, and a Caroline Olympian. I took a pic of his pedals when I saw them because his tone is too good.
The new album is gonna be total garbage compare to this. I mean Attack on Memory and Here and Nowhere Else are fuckin awesome but without sound has a different vibe and it just dont feel right. I thought they were going to keep the same sound and add it something new, Dylan said something about adding synthesizer and shit but... Fuck it
The tone and style of the Attack on Memory album reminds me of In Utero by Nirvana. For example the song "No Sentiment" is very similiar sounding to "Milk It". - Both very grungey, I love it.
Everyone says this but I don't feel it. I think the album's content presented as a three piece is amazing. Baldi has to get creative and diversify his tones and distortions. They echo Nirvana sonically and it's awesome to see the sounds simplified and broken down to fundamentals.
Mr. drummer, a sincere thanks for all the cardio workouts over the years. You're fun to follow.
Two weeks ago I discovered these guys, haven't stopped listening since.

Man, sounds even better than the recorded album. WOW!
These KEXP performances are among my favorite performances and mixes of this INCREDIBLE band. I would by this on vinyl in a second if they'd release it.
OMFG ♥ Come to Brazil guys!
What a gay comment. Damn. Be a man.
maximoplf CN awaken my inner femininity, I can't do anything! hahahaha ♥
Better and better with each album
This is one of the best things I've ever seen
drums sounds better than the album! love it
Why this doesn't have more than 100.000? This is BRUTAL
Unreal would've thought it'd have cracked a million
Still an absolutely amazing performance
It may be an unpopular opinion, but I like them more now that they are a trio; maybe they just changed attitude but the music feels more straightforward and intense to me.

One of their biggest influences the Wipers was a trio. Ironically the groups uses the same model bass and guitars.
such a great voice. awesome performance
Sounds like Dez Cadena sometimes
I'll never stop listening to them 🛑
proper indie rock here
Great album.
I live in Deep Ellum in Dallas, TX and I just discovered this band because I could hear it from a concert playing a block over from my apartment. haha (Untapped Music Fest)
How much is rent in deep ellum?

Holy shit! That drummer! First time I hear this guys. They are amazing.
Holy shit that last song just finished it off. Amazing!!!!
jayson playing pattern walks was absolutely filthy. i need a shower now
In a good way or bad??
Samantha Brannagan 'filthy' when talking Bout music always is good :)
+theArchive1O Jason must come from another more highly evolved planet than Earth!
Stoked to see them tonight!
Well Dylan certainly doesn't look like McLovin anymore. Great stuff!
i love cloud nothings!!
Absolutely great
This is awesome. Missed them when they came through Boston a few months ago.
So good!
I love that riff on Pattern Walks. So sulking.
oh how I love this organized chaos😍😍
Man, they rocked that.
distorsion and speed make incredible chaos, nice
you know there's nothing left to say
Now Hear In is such an earworm
Dylan Baldi is a really technical guitarist
Théophile Richart what do you mean?
@@SpeedDemon908 /s
So damn good!
excelente !!
I miss Dylan with short hair, but otherwise I love these guys! One if my favorite up and coming bands. Saw them at a smaller venue in Lincoln, NE in July.
cheryl cannot lie i mean these guys do not mess around

Man, his hair ain't your business.
@@theArchive1O they're playing together again this spring
@@adderon oooh I have plans for glassjaw but am def gonna hit cloud nothings. Hopefully a dc show. Hbu?
I, and the music, miss the other guitarist's Wipers-esque riffage.
lol hats off to you.
And I'll bet his criminal record misses not having a violation affixed to it. But you're right.
🤘🏾🍻💨
I honestly prefer this performance to the studio recordings.
I try to love this as much as the cd but I can't.
esta bien vergas
Holy Shit the Replacements just shapeshifted!!!!!!!
I want an SG so fucking bad
these guys remind me of promise ring.
Now, that's a tight drummer !
Peavey T-40 bass! Best bass ever made, even if the mix here is a little muddy. For all I know, I sold this dude that bass. I miss it, even if there's no reason for me to own a bass.
JEFF the brotherhood?
Dylan became some sort of homeless dude. Nice music, though.
The singer has forgotten about razors haha !!
As a 3 piece they're a lot more direct. A sense of urgency that is very arresting.
Lacking some finesse
Hey, you don't need always need finesse to make awesome music! Enough raw passion can make up for that. Just look at Nirvana
why did they reupload? did they fix the mix? either way this is great but im just confused haha
What sort of overdrive/fuzz does the singer use?
No vocal effects obv, but as for guitar:
I think his normal distortion would be a tubescreamer or something like that.

I think he uses a walrus audio jupiter for fuzz.
Dude it seems like he had hit a growth spurt.
what kind of bass is that?
Does anyone know what effects he is using during psychic trauma?
rob1996ization Belle Epoch echo, Iron Horse Distortion, and a Caroline Olympian. I took a pic of his pedals when I saw them because his tone is too good.
Yah....
They sounded a lot better on the first shows of Attack On Memory. The second guitarist really added a lot to the sound!
Fuck it
does anyone know other bands that sounds like cloud nothings?
they kinda remind me of the strokes
Dwiki Aprinaldi thee oh sees, ty segall, fidlar, wavves, metz, fuzz, and bass drum of death, that's all i can think of lol
+Eric Smeal a lot of shit my Steve Albini tbh
death from above 1979 . . . i guess
The tone and style of the Attack on Memory album reminds me of In Utero by Nirvana. For example the song "No Sentiment" is very similiar sounding to "Milk It". - Both very grungey, I love it.
Летов
What effects is dylan using in the intro of psychic trauma?
+linus spacehead probably just a delay pedal
Mr. Black Supermoon
linus spacehead it's a Belle Epoch echo
The last song... reminds me of... ;)
Sonic Youth
It's not the same with only one guitar. Anyways, love this band.
I know man...
Everyone says this but I don't feel it. I think the album's content presented as a three piece is amazing. Baldi has to get creative and diversify his tones and distortions. They echo Nirvana sonically and it's awesome to see the sounds simplified and broken down to fundamentals.
has that bassist ever heard of alternate picking?
Really don't get the same attack with alt picking when playing punk songs.
hm...interesting
That's too nice of a guitar to sound that bad.
