Back in 2008/2009 I was teaching school with this gentleman, Mark Baldi, who I learned shared a common interest, playing guitar. He and I jammed once or twice and he often talked about his beloved sons. He continuously mentioned the incremental recognition Dylan was obtaining for songs he'd written and recorded with his newly forming group, Cloud Nothings. I was fortunate enough to buy my first CN album featuring "Hey Cool Kid" directly from Mark for ten bucks. I remember the morning he handed it to me in the school hallway. How blessed I was to have briefly known this fine man who was a beloved and excellent teacher. Stemming from that rich, Baldi intellect and Cleveland upbringing comes Dylan's superb writing, groundbreaking creativity, seemingly limitless imagination, and sensational songs (one after another). I've been litening to CN since 2010 and the sound hits me in the gut and soul without fail. I could not be happier for Dylan, Mark and the rest of the Baldis. As glad as I am for Dylan, I am equally glad for Mark who desrves ALL the joy our good creator has to offer. God Bless CN and the Baldis and God Bless us all! Thank you Mark for teaching Dylan and thank you Dylan for the music.
OK, so you briefly knew the father of a mildly famous songwriter - although not well enough to get the CD for free. Are you patting yourself on the back for that, or is there a point to all of this? Seems like a slightly underwhelming connection/story.
@@jtors5 You are probably an unhappy person...
@@jtors5 you are such a heartless person
bless you too !!
that's a great story, thanks for sharing it! It's a great feeling when you get to know a band in their very early days and then see then succeed years later

That drummer… insane… „it’s not about the size of your kit, it’s about what you do with it.“
God, Jayson Gerycz is a phenomenal drummer.
I like the simplicity of the drummer's setup here.
Im tripping acid somewhere in this crowd shot. Best day of my life.
so funk hhahaha im not trying to sound like that im just sayying that it happened and cloud nothings blew my mind during.
drummer is crazy af
hes crazy
tacos.*・。゚* dope asf
drummer went bezerk
Hands down one of the best rock bands of their generation. I love how they've kept that 80's hardcore & 90's grunge/emo spirit alive
I get grunge vibes, punk vibes, hispeed rocknroll vibes. I pick up vibes so I can pull a "Best Rock Band" out there for these guys. Love that sound, so gnarly and kinda pop at the same time!
r u vibin?
im vibin arent u
Great performance here, very close to the recordings. I wish I could have been there for the actual performance. Of course, these days, I wish I was at ANY musical performance.
I usually hate festivals but Cloud Nothings makes them look like so much fun. I can't even think of one active band right now that I'd rather see than these guys except maybe SWANS. Their drummer fucking kills it, as well.
M Parsons Foals from the UK. They put on a hell of a live show , trust me .
Awesome set, Cloud Nothings is one of those bands that you know are for real and do it for the love of music. So much feeling on every performance and record they put out!
Best concert I've 'seen' in years. The retained rawkus, the energy. Please put this on cd or dvd!
We get this full set and i'm over here just tryna get a lil diiv footage.
haha I'm still waiting on Sleigh Bells footage from 2012....
Waiting for EARL set... does anyone know what happened to the haxan cloak full set?? it was up for like a day.
what a fucking cool crowd!
Or a fucking cool band? Chicken or the egg. :-)
RWL de Bruijn hahahahaha, nice joke ;)
Man, what a great show! Every single song is a banger!
In an alternative universe, Jarvis cocker disbanded pulp in 1992, Moved to America where he spent 17 years homeless, before starting cloud nothings.
Yeah, man, FUCK YEAH, that's what I call a rock gig! Wicked crowd, man!
Fucking love the feeling and vibe of the live versions.
This should be made into a live CD.killer set!!
i wish i had the drummer's stamina... oh well back to practicing
THIS WHOLE PERFORMANCE GIVES ME CHILLS
oof cloud nothings, where you Fuckin been I'm only just finding out about ya. thanks to Superchunk artist radio on spotify I am no longer in the dark.
Dylan's guitar parts are so interesting! Very complex.
The drummer man!
this looks like it was fun as hell
Freaking awesome! I envy each and every person there, dang!
absolutely love the extended bit in Pattern Walks!
Man this show is actually pretty solid!
Minus Wasted Days where they actually need a guitarist playing the lead, i mean c'mon what was that dude doing in the back?
8bitunicorn exactly my thoughts.
he plays in another crazy band they toured with
Probably my favorite this year. So psyched they posted the full. I hope they keep putting out more vids of this year though.
As a drummer I would try to play Tetris with the oncoming crowdsurfers. :-)
Currently the most authentic Rock Band in the world
best band
I just saw them live! Awesome!
I was in this crowd. Every time I watch this video I try to find my head.
The security dude, with the goatee, is vibin’
Always kind of jealous of drummers when I look at lives shows like this. They look like they're having the time of their life.
Second guitarist is sorely missed.
By no one
Drew Kozik wrong. their live set was so much better with the second guitarist
ClydeNut Joe definitely added a cool layer of sound to their music but I think they are fantastic even without him.
+themrhc they should still get a new guitar player at least for live performances to play songs from attack on memory
クラウドナッシングスでいちばんいいライブ
best band ever
best Wasted Days I've heard
woah this is awesome
Super tight.
What a band... AWESOME l..l
awesome band
Sonic Youth meets Nirvana meets Mum. & Sons meets KISS meets the Phantom of the Park. Sweet!
tf is this comment lmao
goated
superb
Love Baldi's vocals
come to chile!
I love these guys more than Fidlar! (don't get me wrong, I still like Fidlar)
Anyone know what the setlist is?
Dude is channelling Dez Cadena circa Black Flag at 12:15
Spot on!
And sometimes Milo on the album recordings
that poor drummer. those songs sound exhausting haha
I play in a band that opened for these dudes in a tiny bar last winter. Temperatures below freezing and there was no backstage area, just a door that led from the stage to outside. I was out there having a smoke when they finished their set and came out through the door. The amount of steam coming off of Jayson was unreal, it looked like his hair was on fire or something. The dude is a machine and definitely gets a good workout playing their sets.
i thought the same thing haha
what guitar is Dylan using?
Griffin Jurisson SG Gibson
It’s a Gibson SG Special
3:00 lost a shoe
Peavey T-40! Those things weigh a tonne...
Sometimes it seems like Dylan didnt hit puberty until 2014.. think about it
awful performance
