I saw this graph showing how often dems talked or tweeted about Trump and Bernie Sanders was the second one doing it the most whereas Buttigieg is the one doing it the least and I think that's the best approach. Y'all need to make it all about the people and not the politicians. Yes, Bernie would normally be the first choice and he's right in pointing out where Trump is wrong but I fear he has jumped on that wagon without even realizing it so he's turning off Trump voters whereas Buttigieg is earning their trust. I dunno. I just hope the embarrassment of humanity doesn't get reelected.

Don't agree. Trump needs to be called out on his lies, and the way he's hurting working people. Not doing that is a losing strategy. But that isn't the same thing as having a roasting contest with him. He's good at roasting people, but he isn't good at public policy. There is more than one way to talk about Trump. Talking about his character, insulting him directly, and talking about policy and the impacts of Trump. All three have different results.
I'm not trying to drag Buttigieg....but just so you know, he has made a few "digs" at other candidates throughout this campaign. Nothing major- but to say he's doing "better than anyone else" when he in fact has said some things about other candidates, especially when I know some candidates that have specifically ONLY praised other candidates and said positive things about them...is a bit factually incorrect.

This was one of my favorite segments. It was spot on! "I'm not Trump, vote for me" didn't work in 2016 and with a candidate like Biden it will certainly fail again. At least he changed his strategy to "I'm Obama, vote for me" which is slightly better. Personally I'd go with Bernie. Him and Biden have the most name recognition by now, but Bernie is worlds better. No flip flopping, since he was virtually always on the right side to begin with, while others had to "evolve" or like to "pivot" which is just a fancy way of changing your positions after the primary...also called lying to your base. Also Bernie is scandal free and doesnt participate in troll feeding or mud slinging. One more point noted by Trevor is that the US people are bad at self identifying with political labels. Many say they are conservative, but when you ask them policy by policy, they are in favor of everything Bernie is talking about. The majority of the US is not conservative. They're not even center left. They're just LEFT.

The problem is that there were candidates who didn't play his game in 2016, and they still lost. The bigger issue is that the cameras turned off whenever anyone tried to talk policy, and turned out whenever Trump spoke trash. So he was able to monopolize the coverage. I'm not sure anything has happened to change that in 2020.
