You are SPOT ON!! Especially in the south!! Women friend groups that come from money love to judge everyone they think is beneath them.. then the go to church on Sunday and act as if they are just as perfect as Jesus. They lack humility and empathy. It’s just a damn shame. Of course, I’ve known some women who come from money that are absolute saints. Not all of them fall into that category. But in the rural areas especially, If you don’t come from money and you don’t have the right last name, they assume you’re white trash and look down on you. Just like they did in this movie. Humble beginnings give a person character and grace. I would much rather have grown up the way I did and learning all of the important lessons I learned than I would be in the shoes of women like this, any day.. If SHTF, girl we gonna survive. That’s for damn sure❤

I saw “The Help” in a small very white, very affluent village here in New York. A town where there were many homes that employed black people in the kitchens during the 1930s-late 1970s. When the film ended in the small theatre I looked over at a woman sitting near me as we watched the credits. I went over and sat next to her. We both agreed what powerful performances Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis and Emma Stone gave. We both thought one being black, the other white, that The Help was a strong contender for Best Picture. An interesting experience.
