I’ve had the Fives for quite some time now and I can say it is really amazing, I’m planning to upgrade soon to the Nines and I can from most of the reviews including yours that they do not disappoint thanks for sharing your video 👍🏻
I'm awaiting my pair very eagerly. I plan on using them even when I build out my Atmos setup, at least early on. For now, these are replacing a set of speakers in my room I've had for 15 years and I am so excited to hear how well they play my music, games, and movies.
Thanks for the great review. I've had the fives for almost a year now, I added a Klipsch 12 inch sub to them and they sound awesome. I just ordered the nines and can't wait to hear them. I'll keep the fives and put them in my travel trailer. Take care and God bless.
I agree mostly. I've got the nines with Klipsch's 16" sub, connected with the wireless wa-2. Adding the sub made something very good sound phenomenal. I use it in a master bedroom and even at very low volume, I'm astounded with the fullness and clarity. $ for $, I don't know how it can be done better. I started with a pair of the Fives which I was initially very happy with, until I heard the Nines.
I just purchased the same set up for music. Question, which is better for movies, the nines HDMI ARC port or Optical. I’m confused wether or not the ARC port supports lossless audio or if it’s even nessicary while watching movies?
The vs reference test, the reference were nicer sounding for sure, I might down the bass a tad to let in more transparency, but that's not apples and apples to be fair. In the end, they sound great.
I plan to buy 2.0 or 2.1 stereo system primarily for music listening (80 %), secondly connected to TV as home theater system (20%). For me punchy and tight bass is important. If i add a subwoofer (RP-1200SW or RP-1400SW) to The Nines, is it suitable also for listening to music? Or it would it be better to chose RP-8000F II with a receiver? Which option would recommend? Thank you for your answer! ;)
Would you know if in your speaker arrangement in video the optimal way is to toe them in or leave straight on? I can’t seem to find anything on how these should be placed
Thanks cinema King I have followed you for awhile now mate and take on bound your helpful reviews especially on klipsch and I will say you are 110 percent perfection on these nines man I love them. I've only owned one soundboard in my time and it died with little to no value on the price but these nines are next level I bought the McLarens to up the looks but thats the versatility of klipsch but I'm impressed and I'm a home cinema guy from way back so thankyou for your professional guidance on all your products love your stuff!
Somehow I clipped my amp on my fives. I had the volume around 75% playing Korn. I'm assuming the amp ran out of power at that volume. I should have used a sub to avoid pushing the amp too hard. Kept getting a popping sound every second. Got the amp warrantied then sold them. Now using my klipsch heresy IV with a mcintosh integrated amp
That is so weird as they have dsp built in, but that is my only problem with the Fives they drive that driver to hard and you can hear it. Look at the Sevens or Nines.
Nines are powered speakers and Heresy are passive so need for careful pairing of equipment is needed. So it will depend if you are looking for a one stop solution or a hobby of time/trial/error. Both are epic in there own way.
Amazing review mate To the point and honest Having used the fives foe years and now the nines with a 10" sub My god the difference is amazing And who needs a soundbar with the little monsters I do think the sub is a must specially for movie watching Great review ❤
Shame they don't have Digital Decoders built into powered speakers like Dts, Dolby Digital, that's one thing that soundbars have over powered speakers. With Klipsch powered speakers you only get 2ch PCM and miss the LFE channel from Movies but be okay for 2ch Music
I've been complaining for years about manufacturers simply brushing over the single 8 inch / tweeter set up. Monitor Audio came to the rescue with the Bronze 100's. These 9's though, are simply on another level, especially because they're now powered. The fives were good: I reckon the Nines will simply blow most audiophiles away. .. Let it not be said: those Rp8000f's got down and boogie'd as well!
Yes these are on a entire new level and i cant get enough, they now sit proud in my main listening space👌 dont take anything away from the RP8000 they will go much further then the 9s can ever wish to go but just for a unit that small to keep up is insane!
How is the off axis listening for the Nines? I saw data indicating the RP-8000F II is narrow in vertical and horizontal. Wondering if the Nines are better.
The first song demo is very impressive, as mentioned, not a fair comparison.... but the 8s are a little more roomy and transparent. The 9s sound different, but just great. Would certainly go the 9s.
This is the precise review i was looking for! The RP-8000F II were on sale and I was debating between those and the Nines. Settled on the Nines for my purposes. Finding the perfect amp combo really increased the price. Do you anticipate the Nines will be best for a 2.1 music only setup - vinyl, cd, and Wiim Pro for streaming?
@homecinemaking397 thanks for the quick feedback. I'm going to go with the Nines. I love the sound and look of tower speakers but don't want to dive down amplifier rabbit hole. Plus the Nines are beautiful looking. Great review!
Depends from person to person. For me its just perfect, have you played around in the app with positioning and EQ? I always feel to much bass can be tamed but with to little there is nothing you can do.
To my ears, neither pair are tuned correctly (9s too much bass and 8000s not enough) John Hunter at Rel has a video showing how to do it with a sub but the same principle works with the woofer(s) but the speaker must be bi-amped so you can't fix the 9s. Starting with low gain to the bass drivers, slowly increase the bass WHILE LISTENING TO THE MIDS AND HIGHS until they reach their peak performance. Small tweeks to your preference. Too much bass muddies the rest.
A lot can be achieved by positioning and EQ. The REL method applies to match subwoofer levels, preferably with their direct speaker terminal connection - not the crossover levels between Midrange -Tweeter Horn in a 2-way bookshelf.
Appreciate the proper and thorough sound test!

Great video my fellow South African ! :D Subscribed :) Literally buying the Nines tomorrow after 4 months of waiting!

I would always toe a speaker unless it states not to do so.
@@homecinemaking397 do these sat to toe in ?
@@funplaymix7710 yes toe in is good for them. Play around with the triangle setup.
The speaker break-in is needed to do a true sound test. I have these. Also have the fives.

Got it. If you had a choice between a 5.1 setup (Jamos concert series c 97) or these for movies , what would still be better?

The bass of the nines seems to be less controlled. Like it's spilling over. This is a bad characteristic. Or is it just me who thinks it is?
Depends from person to person. For me its just perfect, have you played around in the app with positioning and EQ? I always feel to much bass can be tamed but with to little there is nothing you can do.
It's true. You can always shorten the bass by covering the tubes of the rear. I don't have the 9s yet. I am just wondering whether to order them.
