They suck bought mine they would go dead come on did this a lot finally they completely went dead!! Called they sent me an update didn’t work!!! My brother in law did the update he was a computer tech for the marine s so it was done right!! So they said it would be covered by warranty could replace the board but was sold didn’t no when it be in stock I hv the walnut could replace the speaker but sold out didn’t no when it be in stock!!! They had the black ones which really don’t like the color compared to walnut but said send them !!! Then they message back the next day said they hv been damaged and we’re out of stock freaking crazy I wouldn’t buy klipsch no matter how cheap spent 1800 on the speaker and the stands !!! Don’t buy klipsch!!!!!!!!
Of all the videos I have seen you have never been this excited about a product. The humor and your take on things I appreciate more and more. All the best.
I have the Klipsch Fives, upgraded to the nines and moved the fives to the bedroom. The Nines are incredible and I find they are all things for me. I have had separates in the past, but I love the convenience, and most importantly I love the soundstage and the incredibly addictive base. The run rings around the Fives, however they also dissect mids and highs much more competently. Overall The best all rounder hifi system I have owned.
I also bought them new, and can back that claim up also, and I'm pretty picky and will break a speakers weaknesses down quick. They've put a beating from top to bottom on about anything I've had in my room, I couldn't have summed it up any better than you did, my thoughts exactly. Their literally endgame material, and one could call it a day if wanted. Best bang for the buck in my opinion, maybe my best purchase I've made, even at retail price.
Perfect intro, perfect review, and perfect speaker. For me their an endgame set and all anybody could really want, after 200 or so speakers later, I bought these new from Klipsch in walnut. The low end is insanely good, top end is not the traditional Klipsch, it's very very good, the midrange is fine, just bump it up a few notches and drop the treble a couple notches, for low level listening I keep the bass at +4, and 0 on mid and -2 on treble, probably because I'm use to British speakers, anyway your right you can make them sound almost any way you want them too, and they can get LOUD if your into that. Here's a tip for you and others, that sub button on the remote, if you hold it down for 3 seconds you can turn the bass boost on or off without the app at anytime, also if you want even more low end for low level listeners, fear not, it's there, kind of hard to find at first, go to settings and room placement and put them "on the wall" position and there's no bass reduction instead of the others -3 db etc, some may find it to be a little too much depending on the room, they are the perfect speaker in my book. To sum it up, I'd take them over, 4312, L100, hpm-100s, ar3as, LS3/5a and blah blah blah I've had em, doesn't matter these win overall, got these and that's a wrap.
😄👍👍 As someone whos NEVER owned a powered speaker I Just cannot second this enough !!!!! I have owned several Klipsch ( and others ) over the last 38 years .I Have LOVED them all, BUT.....WOW... These are Just a GAMECHANGER .. Two BIG 👍👍 to Klipsch On a Truly AWESOME Product !!!! Getting the SEVENS next !!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Awesome as usual Randy! These are definitely something to think about in the future, and ya I’m looking forward to hearing more about the 7s, thanks!!!
Had The Fives for a few years. And love them. They are not audiophile, but god they are fun. HDMI input makes it a no brainer for a better than sound bar alternative .. Looking forward to the SEVENS review. I’ve heard It’s the best of the bunch 🙂
That's what Andrew says anyway, I have the 9s and I haven't heard the 7s, but I'd prefer the extra horsepower of the 9s because they virtually have no weakness and you won't need a subwoofer period, unless in a very very large room. You'll have to make your choice though, everybody is different I suppose.
I had the fives as well hooked to my 77 inch oled with a speedwoofer 10S mkii. I really liked them and wanted something a bit bigger and more powerful. I was going to get the nines but after reading that they are more geared toward music only I decided on the sevens. I gotta say the sevens are fantastic, they sound great with both music and movies and games. They are alot bigger than the fives and have mounting holes on the bottom. I bought the klipsch KS series stands and being able to bolt the sevens down is great for peace of mind. I personally think the sevens are the best all arounders!!!😅😅
Not contesting your take on the Fives, but what do you consider audiophile in this case? Or rather, what would you describe is lacking with the Fives in the audiophile dept? I've enjoyed them for a couple years and have been able to get better performance with both an external DAC and preamp, which I know is unusual for using powered speakers.. Edit: oh and subwoofer(s) help too
@@diamondbracelettehi, i'm no audiophile, but in the last couple of years have start to grow on me this "audiophillish" obsession. In a matter of fact, it's start with the fives. I have them and enjoy them for over a year, and still miss them. Such a fun and dynamic presentation, we dance a lot less in this house since they're gone. But in the end, the mids never convince me. First, the dialogues on movies never were clear enough, and with music always remain a little muddines. They get a lot better on that department after adding a subwoofer, but the voices remain kind of boxed in and lacking body. Hearing sennheiser headphones and wharfedale speakers, i couldn't comming back to the fives I can said, in my experience, that in the mids they're far from an audiophile presentation.
Thank you Randy. I have learned a lot watching your videos. I find myself watching, even when I am not that interested in the type of product you are reviewing because of your personal touch.
Demoed The Fives over a month ago and couldn't believe how much bass, clarity & soundstage they had for such a small powered speaker. They didn't distort at all at high volume during the demo either. I was expecting to be a little underwhelmed but they blew me away. Got a demo of The Sevens & Nines lined up in a couple weeks and I cannot wait. I'm glad you mentioned The Nine's cabinet resonance as it's been mentioned by others. From what I've heard so far I'm guessing The Sevens with a sub will be the sweet spot for me. They're supposedly better braced internally. But I hope they do a Mk-II of The Nines in a couple years with more cabinet bracing and different grill colour options. Not a fan of the cream variant grill with the walnut pair so I'm probably going to ask if I can order walnut finish with the black pair's grills, if I get them. Looking forward to your Sevens review.
@@rootedrotor525 Got a good deal on a pair of used Fives and a sub. It's a good enough starter system until I can upgrade to a pair of Magnepan LRS+ and servo subs.
I’ve ran khorns up front and a set of Klipsch Belle’s on B channel for over thirty years, and they still will make the hair on my arms stand up ! Best music purchase in my life !
Randy! I subscribed today. Not because what your talking about, cause man!, half that stuff just flies over my head. It's how you deliver it. I'm a musician hobbyist so my definition of audiophile is anything that makes what I'm listening to, sonically pleasing to my ear. I love instrument and I certainly love audio gear no matter what it is. Anyway, look forward to following your channel.
Thanks for another easy to comprehend review. I wish you were doing this years ago before I spent too many thousands on a stereo system that my wife finds too complicated to operate. She pines for the good old days when you could just, say, put on a record and press play. True confession: sometimes I do too. If I was starting over I would seriously consider one of these systems in a speaker box.
Just buy a backup amp from the factory just in case, it's no different than having to have vintage amps repaired and some you can't even find parts for anymore and cost a fortune to fix. The built in amps could last 20 years, maybe 2, who knows, the fives and even some powered subs are still kickin 20-30 years later, who knows. If all goes south, just turn em into passive speakers.
thats why you should buy established Active Speakers, from brands who did that since 10+ years because they developed own Amps and stand behind the technology and not like klipsch, try to cover up a Market with premade China Plate Amps
Bought a set of the Sixes two years ago. I am happy as can be with them. They get plenty loud and when hooked to the right source sound great. I’ve heard that the Sevens are basically new and improved versions of them. If I ever upgrade will probably go with a Rotel amp and 8000Fs. However, these do look like they are worth looking into if a person wants a good set of powered speakers.
after this review I had to go for a listen, bloody hell, they are soo good, you just want to keep turning them up! I can't quite believe how good they are, seriously, mind blown. thx Randy!
Great review Randy. You can’t beat the convenience. Glad they finally have the app worked out. Had the Fives for a short time two years ago and the app functionality was missing. No EQ, problems with disconnection. Really looking forward to your review of the Sevens. I have a feeling they will be better in the midrange and the size can fit in more places.
I love The Nines as well, they replaced an entire 11 channel surround system in our house that we are putting up for sale so wanted less clutter. We have had a few disconnects going to our S95B Samsung OLED so it's hard to say which caused it, both are new.
saw another reviewer say that the Sevens sound better than the Nines. I hope you get to check them out and give us your opinion because I'm very interested in the Sevens. edit: lol I just finished the video and realized you also have the Sevens. please update us on the Sevens 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I have the 7’s and I’m n love. First speaker my wife likes too. She loves the way they look. I also have the 15-pm’s and would love to use them as surrounds but can’t seem to make it work cohesively
Love your videos! Unfortunately down here in Australia klipsch are very expensive (like most thingx), so I purchased the edifier s3000pros. Very happy with them for the money and have found i don't even need a sub.
Try the upper end Edifier like the S2000mkiii or even S1000, which are truly impressive and bet would more than give these Klipsch a run for the money! Not to bash Klipsch, I own and like a few models.
I had the fives and really liked them. Decided to upgrade and ended up with the sevens and an svs sb 3000 subwoofer for my 77 inch oled. I use them for movies, music and games. I was set on the nines but read some reviews that for movies they aren't great but for music they rock! Glad I got the sevens and I think they look and sound fantastic!!! By themselves they have quite a bit of bass but for movies u want that low rumble only a subwoofer can provide!!! Thanks cheap audio for the review and your thoughts!!! Look forward to see what u think of the sevens! Man, they are so much larger than the fives. You dont get the true difference n scale until you see them in person!
I went with Edifier S1000W because I wanted a plonk anywhere option with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and for that purpose they sound very good . Two wires mains and slave easy peasy . I just think for this money why not just by an amp .
I've had The Nines for a few weeks now and they are simply some of the best powered speakers I have heard. The level of detail is unmatched at this price point and greatly enhances any musical or movie/show experience. I have them paired with Klipsch's new Reference Premiere 12-inch subwoofer. Amazing. Set it and forget it.
I just wish I could use standard speaker wire with with any of these Klipsch powered speaker line. I’ve recently discovered, using a 16 gauge soft silver core bare wire wrapped with an 8 gauge teflon jacket works wonders for sound.
I relate to your comment about the Nine's sounding "fun". I've owned the Klipsch Heresy IIIs not once, not twice, but three times in the past ten years because they were the most fun speakers I've ever owned (and I've owned a lot of speakers, some more expensive over the past 30 years). I can see where the Nines can provide that fun factor due to a combination of clarity and dynamic punch Klipsch speakers excel at in general. I'm hoping Klipsch brings the Nines to CEDIA in September so I can listen to them.
thats awsome iff i could afford a cabin in the woods these would be at the topo of my list! sadly im still trying to get my small apt. there with the usual suspects ie emotiva schitt zu and what the hell some herressy 2s. so far so good!
Randy, I am glad you are going to review the Sevens. That's the pair I'm most interested in right now. I do admit I think the price is a bit too high for The Sevens at $1299. I think they should be around $999, or even $899 especially since you can get The Fives for $549 most of the time now.
Here's what's odd, these aren't the traditional Klipsch sound, whatever they did they did it well, the top end is as refined as needed and not shrill or bright unless you wanted to make it that way with the dsp, I was shocked, their some smooth operators top to bottom.
That secondary speaker output? It's called an Amphenol, who was the original manufacturer. They occur in various pin configurations but are particularly well suited when you need a secure more or less permanent connection.
Hey Brother, I REALLY like your style, and humor. I have purchased based on your recommendations and so I am late in buying you a cup 'O Joe, maybe a beer to boot? I eagerly await the 7's review! Good luck with the channel, I'm always tuned in Thank you
Mr. Randy, Thanks for another great review! This review made me feel like hitting that "buy it now" button. Then I remembered I'm forever flat broke. What a dumba$$ I am. Oh well, It was fun and exciting for a moment. hehe All the very best to you Big Dog. Your at 701 now - keep 'em comin'.
I'm not exactly a klipsch guy but I have to admit when I heard them at axpona they sounded very good. I have to challenge your versatility comment though. You forgot about the SVS Prime sound Base that can be had for $700. Extremely versatile product. Team it up with a pair of speakers like jbl's Studio 5 Series or their Stage series.....and you have a kick ass versatile system. I'm not saying it's 100% going to beat out the Klipsch because sometimes it's a matter of taste but all I'm saying is there are other options and that would be a challenging one
Don't knock that USB connection. Any decent laptop and Amazon music hd in exclusive mode and it's decent imo. Just make sure you up the audio output in Windows to match the speaker dac. 24/192 or w/e. Run a you tube channel with 4k art and an instant wsp!
The six to maybe 10 powered speakers you tried out over time must not have included the Swan M300 MKII ...? If you had reviewed/listened to the Swan M300 MKII, I believe your overall opinion of 'active speakers' might be a little different... Granted... good passive speakers with good electronics are great, but... there are a few companies solely dedicated to manufacturing 'active speakers' that are genuinely excellent speakers - Swan being one of them... Nice review as always...
Well...and an amp/receiver and preamp blah blah added onto the bill, and maybe a steamer, don't forget maybe an external dac and fancy 10 grand cables and cable risers! Then you'll have say...many many thousands invested. I'd stack my nines up against the wharfedales anytime of the week. No I'm good, these are the all in one best for your money I've found for myself.
@0:58 the question is, what powered speakers youve listen to. Most ,,audiophiles,, only know the knowdays mainstrem crap like the klipsch, who bought cheap Plateamps straight out of china and stuff them into an box without any claim to look and tweak the specs. And Master and Slave concepts are also for me a no-go. I hear with (Pro)Actives + DAC since many many years and Stuff like a Neumann, ATC, Unity Audio, Genelec and so on are far beyond the passive stuff i heard even passives priced 5x as much. The trend in the past years is that the ,,consumer,, hifi brands (aka the mainstream) more and more jumps on the active train and build these allinone boxes wich (are for me) the complete opposite what Actives should represent.
Im wondering how much better they are than my the Sixes ive had for years paired with a Klipsch 12-inch sub. Have the built-in phono preamp in my Orbit U-Turn Plus; only other source is Spotify via Bluetooth. I sold my Chorus II's due to space constraints and im only slightly missing them.... But $1500... man.... are they that much better than my $800 old Sixes (that I believe about 12 people worldwide know about). 😅
The passive klipsch products are rarely known to have problems. The powered subs... well not as stellar a reputation. As most passive speakers don't contain components that will become obsolete. Just a pitch for recyclable electronics lol.
With these costing $2500 or more in Australia, I would suggest the Edifier S3000pro, which can be had at a third of the price. Not sure what they cost in the US, but I’d love to know what you’d think of them.
Love these! (conceptually) Im so glad you got them in. Does the TV remote control the volume for these? My fam has a 1 remote rule for the family room gear. Hoping the CEC from the Roku will make this all work as a solution. And maybe this all goes without saying when HDMI is the source but would hate to go thru all the trouble first. Fingers crossed!
Hey Randy, do you think that maybe you preferred these because of them being fully active (ie digital crossover) as opposed to powered speakers that have an analog crossover? Or have you experienced fully active speakers in the past that left you unimpressed also? I don't have a great deal of experience with powered/active speakers, but I've been considering them to replace the clutter of my bedroom 2 channel system. Also, thank you for the insane amount of content you upload!

Love the transitions in the video. Chase is on the case!

edit: lol I just finished the video and realized you also have the Sevens. please update us on the Sevens 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Love the T-shirt and the content. I’ve had my Edifer 1280DB for a few years, and though they sound great, I want something bigger and beefier.
$1500/pr is a steal for powered speakers, and for this feature set, particularly.
Sounds like Klipsch is moving in the right direction. Sevens might be the right size for me. Nines and sevens look nice too.
Great review! Man after my own heart......Goonies shirt, likes metal and Star Wars opener
Endgame, no kidding, same here. Bought new from Klipsch, and I've had alot of different ones, but these do it for me, call it a day.
@@JukeboxAlley Dope, I'm glad you enjoy them as well. They ease my anxiety about looking for the next gear. The treble detail is simply incredible.
Judging from your thumbnail its the first speaker to give you Mortal Kombat powers.
that's right.
GET OVER HERE!!
(I know, it’s Raiden, who was actually my favorite character, but who doesn’t love that Scorpion line?)
Thank you Sir!!!!!!.....😘
Would have been currious to hear your thought on the built in DAC vs say the Geshelli Labs or one of the Dren Dacs.
You have now officially catapulted into the Not So Cheap Audioman channel…
Love you vids, Always check in to see what you have to say or review, don't change.
thanks! appreciate you and the comment
Great job…representing Astoria. Goonies never die!
I just wish I could use standard speaker wire with with any of these Klipsch powered speaker line.
I’ve recently discovered, using a 16 gauge soft silver core bare wire wrapped with an 8 gauge teflon jacket works wonders for sound.
I am still rocking The Sixes, but quite tempted to pick up The Sevens/Nines. Would love to see someone review them side by side.
Thank you so much for that review. I think Klipsch may be slightly modifying their house sound.
A mid-range tone control is so helpful. It is too bad that more preamps and integrated amps do not have that feature.
Looking forward to the 11's that'll have to keep up with the name
I wanna see some 15s next 😂! Some big brutes that go down to 10 Hz or so with the same top end perfection and finish on these.
thats awsome iff i could afford a cabin in the woods these would be at the topo of my list! sadly im still trying to get my small apt. there with the usual suspects ie emotiva schitt zu and what the hell some herressy 2s. so far so good!
Randy, I am glad you are going to review the Sevens. That's the pair I'm most interested in right now. I do admit I think the price is a bit too high for The Sevens at $1299. I think they should be around $999, or even $899 especially since you can get The Fives for $549 most of the time now.
$399 for the fives now. I'd love the 7's, but that's huge jump!
Thanks Much !.......
Genelec G Three Active Speaker (in RAW aluminum) are it.
Can't wait to hear what you think of the Sevens, which supposedly have better driver integration, and imaging.
Pity Klipsch speakers didn't have Digital Decoders built in like Dts so then could get LFE effects channel to use Subwoofer with
Then there is that Klipsch sound. Either you like it or hate it.
They occur in various pin configurations but are particularly well suited when you need a secure more or less permanent connection.
you should really listen to the fives... they are an absolute banger for me! greetings from germany!
Hey Brother, I REALLY like your style, and humor. I have purchased based on your recommendations and so I am late in buying you a cup 'O Joe, maybe a beer to boot? I eagerly await the 7's review!
Good luck with the channel, I'm always tuned in
Thank you
Does the analog signal from a turntable get converted to digital when using the Klipsch phono pre-amp?
You have motivated me to visit World Wide Stereo and listen to them. Stay tuned.
Mr. Randy, Thanks for another great review! This review made me feel like hitting that "buy it now" button. Then I remembered I'm forever flat broke. What a dumba$$ I am. Oh well, It was fun and exciting for a moment. hehe
All the very best to you Big Dog. Your at 701 now - keep 'em comin'.
😂
Good vid as always 😊 I wonder if you have ever done a blind test w speakers like this, recommended on audiophile-critical blogs like mwavguy.
Good job not letting on that you were doing this today. Dir T Dog. LOL
I'm sold.
Star Wars!!! 👍🏽
You had me at "fun"..... 🤘🤘🤘🤙🤙🤙
Review of the seven 🙏🏻
Can anyone recommend a speaker stand for these that actually looks good? Please and thank you 🙏
Sister Christian in Night Ranger mode
I'm not exactly a klipsch guy but I have to admit when I heard them at axpona they sounded very good. I have to challenge your versatility comment though. You forgot about the SVS Prime sound Base that can be had for $700. Extremely versatile product. Team it up with a pair of speakers like jbl's Studio 5 Series or their Stage series.....and you have a kick ass versatile system. I'm not saying it's 100% going to beat out the Klipsch because sometimes it's a matter of taste but all I'm saying is there are other options and that would be a challenging one
Anyone know if Klipsch offers replacement amps for their powered speakers?
Which should I get 7s or 9s?
Andrew Robinson said the 7s are more balanced and detailed. Looking forward to your comparison
Andrew Robinson sniffs his own farts.
Don't knock that USB connection. Any decent laptop and Amazon music hd in exclusive mode and it's decent imo. Just make sure you up the audio output in Windows to match the speaker dac. 24/192 or w/e. Run a you tube channel with 4k art and an instant wsp!
I just wish these had a passive on them rather than being ported. I prefer that tight accurate bass.
I have the swans m300 mkii. I like them more than my Adam studio monitors. The 3-way dsp'd set up makes all the difference.
Great review! Wondering how a phono preamp would do with these speakers for turntable play…
Good review
Just get the Wharfedale Lintons for the same price (without the stands) and be done with it.
Ha. Yeah maybe. Plus component cost and faff. There's a market and audience for these for sure.
I’d love to hear a review about the 2.1 computer system they have
Im wondering how much better they are than my the Sixes ive had for years paired with a Klipsch 12-inch sub.
Could someone shed light on htmi arc? Which dac is getting used? Is it the dac inside source ie TV or the dac inside the receiver/Amp?
The passive klipsch products are rarely known to have problems. The powered subs... well not as stellar a reputation.
As most passive speakers don't contain components that will become obsolete. Just a pitch for recyclable electronics lol.
You're now Verified. Great Video :)
With these costing $2500 or more in Australia, I would suggest the Edifier S3000pro, which can be had at a third of the price. Not sure what they cost in the US, but I’d love to know what you’d think of them.
How does the phono preamp sound?
dont sleep on the sevens id say an even better all around speaker thatll pair nicer with a sub.
Yes, they work with my TV remote. I have it thru hdmi arc tho. May not work with other inputs, I'm not sure
That's what I said! BOOTY TRAPS!!!
I’m getting the Nines delivered tomorrow and I think I want to pair it with a Speedwoofeer 12s sub what do you think?
Does Klipsch make a subwoofer that matches the 5's, the 7's and the 9's?
Hey Randy, do you think that maybe you preferred these because of them being fully active (ie digital crossover) as opposed to powered speakers that have an analog crossover? Or have you experienced fully active speakers in the past that left you unimpressed also? I don't have a great deal of experience with powered/active speakers, but I've been considering them to replace the clutter of my bedroom 2 channel system. Also, thank you for the insane amount of content you upload!
How would you compare these with Magnat Transpuls 800A? Both are similar in design.
Vs the Sixes? I think it would be a fair comparison
