The morning was chilli and overcast but the top of 21° meant we were in for a great day’s riding.
Heading out from Moruya on Araluen Rd, we were soon enjoying Wamban Rd and looped our way for a brief run on the Princes Hwy, back out on Eurobodalla Rd which was very smooth and beautiful riding. We could have ridden this road all day.
For some reason we turned off this great road and onto Tuross River Rd which was much rougher but did rise to some great heights. We weaved our way through Wendella, touched the Princes again at Cobargo and headed into the Biamanga National Park which was a continuous challenge!
Not adding enough route-points into the GPS allowed our Garmins to choose their own routes in the forest and after Bandicoot Rd, we were directed onto Siltstone Fire Trail then Honeymoon Ridge FT which were narrow dual tracks, very rough and covered in tree branches. Eventually we rode down a very steep track which led to nowhere but a rock-bedded creek.
We spent a fair while plotting how to turn around, catch our breath and then ride the steep, rutted and rocky track back out. Toni thought of asking me to ride her bike up the steep stretch, but thought it would have been harder for her to walk or crawl, back to the top. Oh, and there was no mobile service.
Anyway, after the GPS took us up another dead-end, we finally made our way back on track and decided to do another off-road stint in the Mimosa Rocks National Park which was much more successful, and maybe a little boring.
Back on Tathra-Bermagui Rd - a beautiful surface with tons of nice sweepers, we began our trip back to Moruya stopping at the many coastal scenic spots along the way, including Bermagui, Wallaga Lake, Tilba, Narooma, Kianga and Dalmeny.
It was a huge day, very satisfying and probably the best Toni has ever ridden. Her swearing was well contained, and despite the detours, we completed each stop as originally planned and experienced some beautiful south coast site-seeing.

    Another great video!
Use to live at Bermagui and Cuttagee Lake (overlooking the beach and lake) some 50 years ago. Spent many a day riding my then new Honda XL250 along the myriad of fire trails in the area without the use of maps or GPS. 😀

Thanks. That's a nice place to live that not many people know about 😀. There's a lot more riding in the area we still want to get to one day.

What a great day's riding. Well done. Yet again, I will lock this in for our next trip south. You save me a lot of planning!! 😄Aren't the GS's just great for this stuff, though a little hard to turn around when you hit a dead end/creek....... What program do you use to plan your routes?

Thanks. We research as much as we can but found very little 'surface' info in those areas. We initially map with Google MyMaps and export the KML file to BaseCamp for route finalisation and uploading to the Nav6 (Toni is the Basecamp whiz). We've mapped out some possibly nice looking rides from the Badja area down to the coast and back which I am looking forward to doing some time - maybe another great adventure. 😀

@@rideday01 Yep, I do pretty much the same. Love your rides, as I said, you save me a lot of planning - I can just copy what you've done :) Keep it up. Cheers. Geoff
