FLEX FX2271 24V Brushless Recip Saw Review [1 BATT 50 4x4 CUTS]

- More Power and Less Vibration! The new FLEX 24-volt Brushless Recip Saw has the power to cut through just about anything, and it does it without shaking your teeth out. The new sensorless brushless motor moves the sensors away from the motor, so more room is saved where the motor resides. FLEX claims that the FX2271 recip saw will cut 50 cuts in 4x4 lumber with just one 5Ah battery. With a claim like that, we had to put it to the test. And that's exactly what we did.
You can get the FLEX 24-volt Brushless Reciprocating Saw from Lowes for just $249, and this includes the FLEX FX2271 saw, 160W charger, and the 5Ah battery.

Throwing down a like for the $1,000 in market value 50 cuts worth of 4x4 probably represents.
You know us. We’re making it rain over here.
I heard the cool kids are snorting sawdust now...
@Philly Fixed we have to draw the line somewhere...so we draw it in the sawdust. :)
can you guys review the new DCF 901? highly waiting for it.
I just picked up this saw, battery and charger in an after Christmas sale for $189. Also got the Flex 6.5" Inline circular saw kit for $189. AWESOME DEALS...Oh, and Flex just extended the Lifetime warranty for purchases made through December 2023!
Great review. Thanks for this.
Hi Tim, that’s awesome it looks great, seems as powerful as the corded, it’s very interesting I’ll stay with Milwaukee, I seriously like your video on the lift that was awesome, Multi talented man good for you, excellent quality video ty so much, Bob,
I really like this saw. Reminds me of the Metabo HPT 36V for ergonomics and low vibration. My nit is that the blade collet/chuck retracts into the body of the saw - if Chervon didn't want to put a release lever on the side, they should've designed it so the collet sits outside the boot for the full stroke length.
You have to point out my flaws! Once we published this, I yelled at the screen because I forgot to mention my beef about that release lever as well. Of course, it seems to always stop up in the tool as well. I hope everyone can forgive me for not mentioning that. You're right, it's a pain.
@@Shoptoolreviews Haha, I've learned videos are never really complete when you publish them. If you were to wait until they were 100% done, they'd always get published... "tomorrow"
Yo what up Philly! I bought this saw and to be honest the second you lose extracting the blade is more than made up for with the quick insert… I wish my m18 fuel had quick insert… same with blade eject when I’m cutting chain link posts… that blades heats up a lot…
@@PhillyFixed the funny thing is, the Metabo HPT has this same exact design issue. But one plus I'll give to the Flex is that the collet locks open, and then automatically closes when you push the blade in, basically allowing one-handed blade changes. It also has spring loaded blade eject and allows blades to be inserted upside down.
Nice video Tim as always
Nice review. Thanks.
Great video, thanks!
Many keep dunking on this brand but their recip, 6 1/2" inline CS, angle grinder, and OMT seem to be stellar products.
Hope to see their SDS, too.
We haven't had any issues yet, and they all seem to be great tools. Their batteries and chargers are at least top-3 in the tool industry. Thanks for watching.
@@Shoptoolreviews actually the battery chargers If compared like I did with a timer and fully dead battery is first in class…. Gonna do a video showing exact power capacity out of every brand and charging time as well, starting with M18 vs Flex, most likely just a long cut through the length of a tree and whoever gets the farthest is the winner plain and simple, next after batteries are dead is charge time and finally a true price comparison…
Great video Tim, nice saw!!! Really nice output and long lasting battery.
I’d never buy the table and clamp !!!! Super flimsy and weak , maybe cuts of this magnitud should be done on a steadier bench with a more rugged clamp
I feel Tim's pain, eventually switched to a Jawhorse... ruclips.net/video/gbszJvSz0zY/видео.html
There was stuff on both of our permanent work benches, and our welding table. Thus, we thought we could use a couple of our portable tables and Bessey clamps. That was a mistake. Thanks for watching.
Can you review the new DCF901?
Very attractive guarantee !!!!!!
Absolutely, it sure is.
@shoptoolreviews i was wondering if youve used the m18 fuel oscilating multi tool and the flex version. Im on both platforms and looking to purchase one ir the other. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
We have not yet reviewed the FLEX or the new M18 FUEL Milwaukee version. I've used both of them at events, and they both have a ton of power. I think the M18 is a little smoother, but that's purely on memory.
@@Shoptoolreviews thank u for the response. Great channel, luv all your vids brotha
We called about the warranty and were told, Lifetime on the tool; Lifetime on the battery up to 3 replacements only per each battery registered and charger wasn't covered. Nice tools and I was on the fence, but jumped on the Makita XGT 40V line. Thanks for the vid, enjoyed it. Keep on keeping on.
@@athannaelanderson3806 I could care less about you, it's about what the company representive told all of us on the phone. Everyone should call and verify this for themselves.
That is a bold faced lie. I’ll call on Monday. Read the warranty on their website. Only thing not covered is storage and accessories. Tools, batteries and chargers are lifetime.
@@athannaelanderson3806 deleted your post about being on your 4th charger I see. Must be junk if you've gone through that many... LOLOLOL.
I got the screen shot of your post by the way.... LOL.
@@skelley521 actually I deleted my post because RUclips wouldn’t let me post the entire warranty in a comment, yea I am on my 4th charger. As in I have 4 chargers, none have been replaced. It wouldn’t let me post the link to the warranty on their website either however you can find it pretty easily…
@@athannaelanderson3806 which 24v tools do you have so far?
The only best recip saw to buy is hikoki / metabo hpt 36v recip saw..that a real beast
Nawh
Is that thing more powerful than the sawzall?
Yes, more powerful than an M18 Fuel Sawzall, not sure about the super Sawzall.
@@athannaelanderson3806 it absolutely destroys the super sawzall, along with any of DeWalt's offerings (even 60V)
@@schm147 sick to know, thanks brother
@@schm147 got a video on that?
