- Hey Friends!!!
I decided to talk a little in this commentary about some of my thoughts. I hope you don't mind.
I used a 24x30 inch canvas for this painting.
The texture was created with modeling paste and beach sand.
I used acrylic paint, spray paint and acrylic ink.
Main colors were:
Burnt Sienna
Burnt Umber
Raw Sienna
Cobalt Turquoise
Titanium White
Patina
Paynes Gray
Pthalo Green
Yellow Ochre
Tools:
Sea Sponge
Brushes
Palette Knives
Paper Towels
Spray bottle w/ water
Fingers

Paint for you. That's my #1 tip. Don't paint for money, or do commissions, they will both steal your creativity. Paint for you. The others will want to buy what you love.
I paint exclusively for money so I'll keep doing that lol

Thank you. I am autistic, and I have really struggled to wrap my brain around how to create this kind of background, and the way you show it not only makes it look not overwhelming, which is a huge block for me...but also, I finally get it.
I love how you tell your stories as you go along. You brought me back to a childhood I had so many years ago... the freedom to explore and create and to just have fun. I love your vision on this life.
I've been watching a lot of abstract art tutorials. This video touched on processes that I needed to hear and that inspired me immediately with no pondering.

I used to draw people with chicken wings for arms...so, an abstract expressionist at the age of 9 was born😅. I don't know when it happened, but I noticed I started hating everything I did, artistically, creatively, life-wise--it all soured on me. I don't know if I'm kinder to myself now, but it's better than it was. I love your videos, your message, and your artistic voice Lydia 🙂.

Oh yeah, love your process and just subscribed so I can learn more. I like what you say and how you say it. I feel like I’m on the road with layering but often I get total stuck and can’t move forward. If I have a plan in my head sometimes that helps but I’m lousy sticking with plans. Copying someone else doesn’t help either, just need to keep the energy flowing and experiment.
