Back in 85, when I was in college, I would lust after the Goldwing. I have an 1800 now, but still...the 85 just seems to be the epitome of motorcycle design
I bought my 1993 1500 at 10 am 6 months ago and at 5 pm fell from the seconf floor of my house and broke both knees. now recovering from surgery but i had to sell the bike without a single ride. I kept my 1995 pc800 honda pacific coast but the gw turned out too heavy after the surgery. I regret selling it!
I just bought a 85 LTD in December. When I sit on it a get a shit eating grin a cat could scratch off. Please winter go away I can't wait to ride her. What bike did you go with after this one? Happy trails...
I ended up with a 2012 Suzuki Vstrom 650, but I ended up trading it in for a Suzuki DR650 (which I'm now about to sell as well). Not sure what I'll end up with next.
I just got a 1982 1100 from my dad! (im 19 years old) he got an late 80's shadow 750 and asked if i wanted the goldwing as a graduation present or if i wanted to sell it for a newer bike.. i wanna keep the goldwing cause it's such a bad ass bike. (here is a picture of it! prntscr.com/3kvwi4) has some issues.. dead battery, rusted out mufflers and a oil leak i think from the oil pressure sending unit but im gonna fix her up and be out riding this summer!

@@Lloyd-mo ah neat. Only took 8 years to get a reply. Thanks! I still don’t have one cuz I have no room, but I do own a brand new r1250gs, so there’s that
I'm not sure about the 1500, but the 1200 gets anywhere from 40-48. It's not too much better than my car which gets 38. I would expect the 1500 to be closer to my car than the 1200 is.

Thanks .
Not to me. The 1500 has my vote. Still for the savings I'd consider a 1200 before an 1800. Least until the prices get lower on the 1800s.
@@Billy_Darley The 1500 is where it's at, period. I've had a 1200 before and now that I have a 1500, I would never go back!
Would love a 1200Ltd. The fuel injection turned them into a real beast compared to the carbed model. Just so incredibly rare in the UK.
I have two GL 1200’s 1984! Dusty runs great at 99k miles we ride and Rusty 42 k miles ! Needs restoration or parted out
Beautiful bike. I was 23 when this bad boy came out 🤯
I don't know much about motorcycles but it is hard to believe that this machine is produced in 1985 :)
Tlc and a garage goes a long ways. In America at least you can always tell if something old was kept garaged. It's usually a good guess at least.
1984-86 GL 1200
That thing is pretty darn clean man! I hope you get to take some long trips on her, ride safe out there!
Just bought same model , same colour with a gold velour seat YES !!!!
Mines a 84 and Senior Gray ! Beautiful bikes
You've got to be the youngest person that I've ever seen on a goldwing.
Nice bike. Very advanced for the time. I got a 1500 and Im enjoying it very much. Very comfy bike.
I have an 86 1200A, aspencade. Few things i see on the 85 , i wish , i have on mine . Good luck on the sale

Hate to hear that, buddy.. but it could've been worse. I could've broken MY knees. 😂
THAT bike looks good on you, Geek. Is that hate? No its not hate. Just fits, Mr Gold. :-)--
What a beautiful bike
Very nice 👍🏻
I'm not used to seeing slim people on a GW -- you don't look very heavy. Do you have difficulty "handling" something as heavy and large as this bike?
Just bought older version Aspencade, same color :D
belle moto Vive la Goldwing
Nice motorcycle! Have you ever had any problems using gasoline with 10% ethanol in your 85 Gold Wing?
That's typically only a problem if it sits for a while or higher ethanol concentration is used.
Billy Darley I add a bit of Lucas fuel treatment for the methanols here in California USA 🇺🇸.. hard to find good fuels
nice bike..
Nice bike
nice clean bike

Hey hi, thanx for the note. Suzuki's are nice but I have always been a Honda guy. I hope you find the bike that makes you happy. I love my Goldwing.

Nothing like a classic bike. It looks good and the few little issues can be fixed. I spent the weekend on my bike it was great. Happy riding.

What is the make/model of the nice looking red bike behind the Goldwing? And also that blue bike?
Look like Yamaha XS500s
hey linux222 did you sell this bike?
Two thing that bike had problems with if you let them set gas tank rust and the charging system has problems loved mine till day I sold it
What kind of fuel mileage does the 1500 get? I want one of these things so bad!
Lolo cochet
my 95 gl1500 got 45mpg consistantly on a 3000 mile trip in 2020

Still have the bike?

I get around 40 imperial mpg if I am not driving super fast. The 1800 gets better mileage with fuel injection.
linux222 how much did you pay for it
ok bravo
Didnt pay attention to plate..area looks like Va
